@fairchild521 Those exist…
I’ve seen pots with the mechanism built in and a separate gadget that you put in the pot.
Don’t know if they actually work or are worth buying, though.
@kittykat9180 Oh god, yes please.
But why stop there? I need a self-cleaning house!
Or at least bathroom and kitchen, those are the two that I can’t keep up with.
DO NOT BUY.
I got one last time they offered and when it came in, I spent an hour yelling “ALEXA, PLAY MUSIC!” at this thing, and nothing. No response.
The bass is very deep, though.
I wife who does not expect me to “pitch-in” around the house, or nags me to clean up after myself, or stays up to see how late I actually come home, or …
@therealjrn alas, it’s more complicated than that. i rent, so i’m not even sure the spot they’d go can be hooked up, and our stairwells are so narrow i’m not sure any machine could fit up here anyway. le sigh. i swore years ago i’d never live anywhere without a w/d again, but sometimes life doesn’t give you much of a choice.
@jerk_nugget I rented one time where the hot water was included–my neighbor brought in a portable clothes washer to her unit and they made her take it out. Those darn landlords
@jerk_nugget do you have a picture of where they would go? We could look at the hookups and give some insight. They have compact machines, but most likely a regular one would fit in the stairway. They aren’t much wider than people.
A machine that reverses entropy.
@Zeusandhera i think that is called god?
@Zeusandhera So, a human being?
@Zeusandhera My wife and I used to refer to our children as “Agents of Entropy” when they were young.
A pot that stirs itself

A dryer that hangs and folds my laundry.
@RiotDemon not thinking big enough…
@RiotDemon Only $16,000! Minus the dryer part. And the hanging part. But it can fold. Slowly.
/youtube laundroid
@narfcake only 5-10 minutes per shirt? Fantastic.
If you could only put all the laundry in at once…
@RiotDemon It’ll probably give up. Like it did in this example:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2018/1/10/16865506/laundroid-laundry-folding-machine-foldimate-ces-2018
Also the company behind it has filled for bankruptcy:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2019/4/23/18512529/laundroid-laundry-folding-robot-seven-dreamers-bankrupt-ces
a machine that takes the laundry from the hamper, washes, dries, hangs/folds the clothes, and puts them away in the closet/drawers.
@earlyre When I was a kid, we used to have one of those. I called her Mom.
A self-cleaning bathroom.
@kittykat9180 Oh god, yes please.
But why stop there? I need a self-cleaning house!
Or at least bathroom and kitchen, those are the two that I can’t keep up with.
But I don’t need the dishwasher to put itself away. I need it to put away the plates.
A gizmo that checks Meh every night at midnight, clicks the Meh button, verifies that it is indeed clicked, and notifies me if there’s a Mehrathon…
Two turntables and a microphoooooone.
I’d really like a self-cleaning shower (glass-door) stall. Sheesh. Even the cleaning products leave streaks on the glass.
@cbl_wv Try white vinegar and a microfiber cloth.
@cbl_wv i use a squeegee on the doors after i shower. that works.
@cbl_wv @katylava +1 Another shower squeegee user here.
DO NOT BUY.

This option: “An dishwasher that puts itself away.” is a great choice if its a portable dishwasher. Otherwise it’s just confusing.
I want a Truckla. Do I need a Truckla? Maybe. Compost doesn’t transport itself.
I wife who does not expect me to “pitch-in” around the house, or nags me to clean up after myself, or stays up to see how late I actually come home, or …
Be single
@kittykat9180 (twss) lol
Think big. I want a self-cleaning house.
a washer & a dryer. doesn’t even have to be self washing or self folding. just any working washer and dryer will do.
@jerk_nugget Keep an eye out on freecycle or garage sales…
@therealjrn alas, it’s more complicated than that. i rent, so i’m not even sure the spot they’d go can be hooked up, and our stairwells are so narrow i’m not sure any machine could fit up here anyway. le sigh. i swore years ago i’d never live anywhere without a w/d again, but sometimes life doesn’t give you much of a choice.

Washer & dryer that will automatically process a pile of clothes from dirty to folded
