Amazon discontinues Alexa-only deals?
8Are used to check the Alexa-only deals on a daily basis, for the last couple of weeks there hasn’t been anything that I couldn’t order directly from Amazon without Alexa at the same price.
I searched Google, but there has not been any mention of Amazon discontinuing these deals. Has anyone else noticed this?

Lol…I never even knew there were Alexa only deals.
@mfladd Occasionally the Alexa only deal savings could be significant. 15% on this, five dollars off on that, $10 credit to reorder toothpaste or something. On prime day the deals could be really dramatic.
What does she say when your ask her “what are your deals”?
They used to be listed here, right?

@medz That’s the link I used to use to check every day. Now there’s no deals listed. When I ask “Alexa, what are your deals” it’s a list of 6 or 8 rando crap items. I looked up the items via Amazon.com and prices are the same, so no Alexa specific discount.
So this is how they’re paying for Woot’s free shipping with a Prime membership.
(Can I say woot?)
@JanaS You can say Woot, but then you must perform the cleansing ritual.
@JanaS You need to spell it w00t to get by the auto-delete.
@JanaS @sammydog01 Friggin’ forum filters!

I thought endless specialized ways to find deals was part of Amazon’s addict-the-customer MO. So am surprised.
That said, I dumped all my Alexa-specific devices. I can always use my crappy fire tablet, but am happy to avoid overshopping right now.
They’ll be back tho, in some new form.
Had no idea they had Alexa only deals.
First Kindle deals. Now Alexa deals. :’(
@ELUNO I hadn’t noticed they did away with Kindle deals. Not sure I ever found anything in there, but was fun to look through.
@ELUNO One of the key marketing factors touted over the last couple years of the Alexa devices has been exclusive deals. “Get one so you will have access to deals only the cool kids get”. Surely someone out there purchased an Alexa device for this purpose only. I know a couple people who used it as partial justification.
@ruouttaurmind Yeah, but that was a while ago. Obviously they only offered them to help get people interested in the Echo. Just like with the Kindle deals. They don’t have a need to keep doing it.
@ELUNO As recently as this past Black Friday and Cyber Monday it was a big selling point for Alexa devices. In fact, throughout the 2017 holiday season.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
