15Does anyone else hear GIFs?
I “hear” Arnold screaming CHOOOPAAAH when watching this.
If there is a GIF of a person talking, I usually “hear” what they’re saying in my mind, especially if their lips are clearly readable.
I wish I had a poll so we could get sciency numbers. There will be two comments below, vote with your stars.

@RiotDemon see now, I hear a distinctive thump every time the jumping tower lands … it helps that the gif maker adding that little camera bounce …

@djslack - I sometimes “hear” it if there are subtitles, and it’s someone with a particular voice. For example, with Ahnold, I heah “GET TO DA CHAH-PAAAH!”
I’d like to qualify my yes vote by saying that I certainly hear them when there are subtitles, or if they are scenes from movies or shows I’ve seen, or if the mouthings are exaggerated enough that you can tell what’s being said (as in the Arnold example at the start) - those with titles that don’t match what’s actual being said (like the “oh the irony” one above) just leave me puzzled and wondering if I should get myself checked.
@stolicat Hey - sometimes it’s the person talking; sometimes it’s the thoughts in their head; sometimes it’s a voice-over like in the Irony gif. I know because the voices in my head explained it all to me. Maybe you are puzzled because you don’t have any voices to explain stuff to you.

No third option? Sure, I hear GIFs, but they are always in Gilbert Gottfried’s voice. Look at these and try hard NOT to hear them in GG’s voice:

And it works on me. Your power of suggestion is impressive. I do kind of hear Jimmy Fallon as a chorus of him and Gilbert, but since I have no idea who the other guy is I have no problem having him voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.

@2many2no that’s funny, for me it’s just the opposite: 10 of the 7 voices tell me to eat the chocolate.
It took some practice and discipline, but I trained myself to hear gifs in Elmer Fudd’s voice (actually, Robin Williams doing Elmer Fudd). Life is better now.
