Maybe it’s just me, but having lost a relative to Alzheimer’s, I don’t find this particularly funny. But given the lack of stars/comments, guess it’s not just me. Sorry @therealjrn.
I used to be on the advisory board of local branch of the Alzheimer’s association, and what I learned there is that a big part of Alz is a breakdown in communication between the two sides of your brain. They recommended doing both math and creative tasks frequently, and tasks that called for both were the best. They also recommended doing complex activities with your off hand, to keep the lines of communication in your brain open.
@moondrake those are great tips, thanks! My dad has Alzheimer’s (once dementia and then he was upgraded, if that’s an upgrade?) and we’re always trying to get him engaged in activities to slow the progression.
Alzheimer’s isn’t funny and this post may not be “Politically correct” but it made me smile. Sometimes dark humor reminds us we’re not alone and that life has a tendency to laugh at us anyway. I love a good funeral.

@ACraigL Yup. It was a throwaway quip and not very well thought out. Sorry for any offense, and certainly no offense taken.
@therealjrn We’re good.
@ACraigL Until February. eek!
@ACraigL I thought I might be over-sensitive … but I do know that @therealjrn has a good heart, so I left it be
Related, I heard an NPR interview related to Alzheimer’s/Dementia research and programs related to the arts.
Using Film…
and Museum Visits

This sounds like a headline I’d read on a different site.
