Alcoholic beverage preferences?
1I can’t be the only person who dislikes the taste of strong alcoholic beverages, but enjoys getting tipsy on something tasty (and preferably fruity, yes ok shut up). What are other people’s alcoholic beverages of choice? Coconut rum? Mike’s Hard Lemonade? Strawberry Daiquiris from one particular nightclub? Beer? Or Super Monster Vodka with Extra Burning? (maybe I really am just weak.) Please share!

Vodka martini. Extra dirty.
@AnnaB i recently went to a show in seattle and was drinking these all night. one round, the bartender forget to make it dirty. when the waiter came by, i let him know. waiter says, “don’t worry. next one’s on the house and i’ll have him put some stank on it”.
Sloe gin fizz.
Malibu and pineapple juice. It’s like drinking the beach for me. I grew up with my parents using coppertone so I always equate coconut to the beach. Pineapple is an added flavor bonus that also helps stave off dehydration.
Disarrono Sour if I’m drinking somewhere
Smirnoff Ice Green Apple (or grapefruit when I can find it) at home
Wallaby Darned at Outback Steakhouse (peach frozen drink with rum… But it basically just tastes like crushed up peaches)
Bailey’s or other Irish creme for holidays
I drink pretty rarely. I do not like beer.
Yes.
I rarely drink sweet things, though I will use things like triple-sec for a bit of sweetness on occasion. I prefer whisky over vodka, but both are good (well, can be good). I normally drink vodka cold, unless it is a very good russian vodka. Whisky (or whiskey) is good whether neat, with a splash of water, over ice or in a sour (sans sugar, tho maybe with triple-sec on occasion). Gin (martinis, tom collins, others) is good. Dark aged rum with ginger beer (Dark and Stormy) is good. Pisco is good. Wine and beer are also good. In fact, other than things that are too sweet, pretty much everything is good.
Go for the classic Tom Collins.
Gin & Tonic.
Beer. Delicious beer.

Have you tried any flavored vodkas? There are some interesting recipes using cake- or cookie-flavor…
I like a home made Moscow Mule made with Kirkland (Costco) vodka and Cock & Bull Ginger Beer. I put a quarter lime, twisted and mulled, in the bottom followed by good quality, filtered water, crushed ice, a generous shot (1.5) of Vodka, and top it off with Cock & Bull Ginger Beer in my solid copper,(uncoated) 12oz. mule mug. So refreshing and it will bring a happy thought to your mind after the first sip!
I’m going to go with beer, for completely unbiased reasons that won’t seem obvious later.
@dave Tonight’s sale?
Nigori sake (probably my favorite alcoholic bev); gin drinks, especially greyhounds or salty dogs or the classic g&t (I just had a lovely bottle of The Botanist); amaretto sours; long island iced teas on rare occasions; and quality sipping tequila, but I can’t remember the name of the brand I liked. Oh and I can’t forget The Kraken- I’ve never been a rum fan (especially that coconut flavored crap) until I had Kraken. Love it with Dr Pepper or good spicy root beer (it makes a fabulous adult float- if you live in Texas get some HEB Creamy Creations 1905 Vanilla Ice Cream and some craft root beer). I don’t drink a lot of beer lately, but I never met a hard cider I didn’t like. Oh and once someone made me a drink with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and coconut creme (Coco Lopez, not the light stuff) that tasted just like a Mounds bar. I really don’t like coconut flavored things, but that was one of the few exceptions. This sounds like I drink a lot, but I maybe a have a 6 pack or bottle of wine or small bottle of liquor quarterly. Alcoholism runs in my family and although I have never had inclinations toward it, going into liquor stores and bars still gives me the heebiejeebies.
