Adjusting the Altruism Score

@RiotDemon No particular reason. I think it’s born of boredom during a pandemic and a desire to use letters other than W, A, S and D.

Also - if we give YOU stars, does your score go down? Or is it just your comments/posts that do that?

@eonfifty @Kyeh The score is stars you gave to others vs posts you made. Not sure what they’d do if you only starred and never posted.

@eonfifty @Kidsandliz I see. I still haven’t gotten an answer as to why @RiotDemon wants me to click on the Meh faces - is that important? Incidentally I saw that just today I went from being a “casual Meh acquaintance”
to a “hardcore Meh fiend”!? Not sure what tipped the balance - posts? Purchases? Both?

IDK. I’d guess orders and poll participation based on the profile boilerplate: “Kyeh is a hardcore meh fiend having placed 17 orders and voted in 239 polls. Kyeh clicked the meh button 671 times, 229 days in a row, with a longest streak of 229 days in a row.”

@eonfifty @OnionSoup I am, apparently, (at least according to meh) pretty stingy with likes…having only liked 13,600 posts (will have to like another one so it isn’t an even number like that - all pun intended). Shows the fundamental problem with how they calculate this metric.

@eonfifty @Kidsandliz the only thing that could be adjusted is how it’s measured exactly. I’ve handed out over 60k likes and my altruism is only 3.7 because I post a lot. You get punished for posting. If I didn’t talk, my score would be a lot higher. You see some users that might have scores over 10 but they’ve made only a few hundred comments and I have over 15k.

@Kidsandliz @RiotDemon Maybe you can be “too altruistic.” Perhaps the ideal altruism score is somewhere above 1.0 and below some heretofore undiscovered value?
I’m guessing 3.0.

That’s why I think it’s weird you are trying to bring your score down.

Wow, that’s some impressive altruism!

@earlyre @eeterrific @RiotDemon @Shrdlu I’d guess @f00l would have a high one too if she didn’t post as much as she does since she likes almost all of the posts out there. Looking at just raw numbers of likes though she is likely up there too.
