@unixrab I know all of you are thinking "only 13,982 for the upgrade! sign me up!" But hold on there, when you consider the maintenance cost of a helicopter, its so much more. This one doesn't even have AAAs you need to track down. Check out this link for more details. http://www.aneclecticmind.com/2010/12/28/the-real-cost-of-helicopter-ownership/ My suggestion? Get this 8 dollar one instead.
@Nexar Some of the lights were off for our recently-installed christmas lights that you can kind of see in the background. But yeah like half our bulbs are out.
@hippiechik Amazon. I sent them a three pack for Seligman; glad to see they're getting use. I wonder if it would be light enough if you filled one with helium?
@heli0s I tried this with a bunch of those glow-in-the-dark helicopters from Woot. If you connect them together via PVC and a lot of PVC cement and then lift-off. We set all of them to the same frequency and used one controller. There's even space in the middle to make a makeshift gopro camera mount. However, the thing barely flies and I lost it in the greenbelt cuz of stupid winds.
I'm guessing these are IR controlled and not RF? EDIT: Yes, I see on the box it's IR controlled. Well, I would have preferred RF, but WTF, it's time to bust my Meh cherry... in for a couple. My nephew will love one.
In for 3! One of each color. Two for my actual human children, and one for myself (who, let's face it, is just a large child with a job and access to credit cards). I feel much better about these inevitably slamming into walls, ceilings, pavement, pets, furniture, and other humans at this price point than the $30 ones we got last Xmas. :-/
@Lera It was a '70s thing. Cotton gauze that was stiffer and scratchier than just plain gauze. Because it crumpled up on itself, it was naturally stretchy; you could pull on the fabric and the crumples would stretch out. Very itchy.
Santa brought a plethora of marshmallow shooters last Christmas. Am thinking that Santa can bring these and we can take turns taking target practice in the basement.
@esjacobs This model of helicopter (1652766) has absolutely no internet footprint other than Meh's sale. So, by purchasing, you are effectively being a trailblazer!!! You can tell everyone you are like Lewis and Clark! Like Captain Kirk! Like Marco Polo! GO YOU!!!
@JonT Nice ninja edit there! Also, @esjacobs you are far more likely to injure yourself seriously in the $13,900 version as it crashes into the ground or a tree, as opposed to the $8 Meh one that you are likely to only hurt yourself slightly with as it crashes into your head or a tree.
Instabuy for 3. I'd buy more if not for the limit because if the battery is anything like our Syma (and I can't imagine it's better), you'll need to run them consecutively to get an enjoyable session.
@j8048188 I beg to differ... I think mine is more relevant. ..pesky-hilarious-fly times 3! Two are for my boys...who are in their late 20s...the red one is for ME, their mama. Dad has one already. Copter wars! Wahoo!
Already got three for $1 off of DailySteals experiments. Would be a steal at this price... But I already have 10 half broken helicopters from Woot and 3 coming more to break from DailySteals.
I see from your video that a single one of these contraptions does not harbor sufficient lift capability to move a cow. I have submitted an order for three, with confidence that three will lift a cow.
You see, my dairy herd is aging and the twice-daily jaunt from the meadow to the milking barn is taking its toll on milk production.
In for 3! My two brothers-in-law and I will have at least a few minutes of fun on Christmas day, provided Meh makes good on the 12/18-12/20 shipping estimate!
@katblue I'm the scapegoat. Everything that goes wrong is blamed on that month's scapegoat. This month, it's me. See my little goat badge? Where your's has a K, mine is a little goat. If you read enough comments, eventually you'll see where someone says "blame _". It's just a little fun community thing. https://meh.com/forum/topics/scapegoat-of-the-month--a-brief-history
what they need to give you is a replacement weight bar piece (the bar at the very top of the main rotor). i have yet to break a main rotor blade or tail rotor. but those damn weight/balance/whatever bar things constantly break for me.
@JonT is it just me, or is there a piece missing between the first pic and the rest? in the 1st pic, there's a connector between the top rotor and weight/balance bar thing. the rest of the pics don't show that.
I'm not familiar with little r/c helis. How does the USB charging work? Does the USB charge the heli's voodoo battery and the batteries for the remote are a separate thing to replace?
@dboots The remote has 6 AA batteries and a built-in charging cable. Alternatively, if you don't want to drain your remote's batteries, it comes with a small USB cable that you can plug into an outlet and charge that way.
@ruouttaurmind Mine have, so far, been on quite a journey. Dallas, Dallas, Las Cruses, Coachella, Walnut... Final destination is outside of Seattle. They must need to stop for fuel a lot.
Let's hypothetically say I have access to a USB cable that's 10 freakin' feet long. (I know, right?) Can I plug the helicopter into that and watch it thrash around tethered to a power source? Like, maybe, the power source is some kind of purple box with a battery inside and a USB outlet on the end. If I can find one. Dunno where.
@Moose Thanks for checking. Bummer about that, because I was starting to think about hey... what about daisy-chaining four 10-foot cables? And at that point, this thing is getting me a cold beer.
Since it seems like everybody that could possibly want a helicopter has purchased one by now it's the perfect time for… CRAZY JONT'S KRAZY GIVEAWAY CRAZE!!!1!
I've got 2 of these to give away, and all you have to do to get one is give me your best caption for this photo:
@JonT Man, after the first 151, Pokemon got fucked up. Squirtle uses bubble, Accuchopper uses whirlwind, TrippyFrog uses psychic, TysonChandler uses Intimidate. All were super effective. Challenge is unable to battle, Challenge was defeated.
@JonT Two brain-slugged hypnotoads, a turtle hydro-cannon, and a giant maverick protect the crystal sphere... even Airwolf might not be able to pull this one off...
@JonTSweet... will join the rest of the meh fleet at our compound! Also provides a sacrificial unit where we can throw flying caution to the wind. Thx.
Wasn't going to. But, apparently I decided I could possibly use them for the Holiday party at my new job where they are doing a cheapo gift exchange....and the party isn't until some time in the new year.
You win, meh. I held out all day but finally caved for two. I have no idea what I'm going to do with them, but they'll likely make good gifts for someone!
I couldn't get on my computer Yesterday to check emails. Just saw this RC Helicopter deal this morning. Too late to order any for myself. I missed out!!!!! WHAAAAAAAAA! I so wanted one for me, probably would have ordered 2 or 3 more for other family. PLEASE give me another chance!!!! Pretty Please!
Is this one of those times where a "Shipped" status means there's a box and a label and they'll get together soon to begin their journey? Both FedEx and USPS say my tracking number isn't even in their systems.
I'm also a bit curious as to the current status of these. I picked up quite a few for family members and it appears they haven't even been shipped yet. Getting quite concerned as my typical shipping takes about 5-6 days once it actually gets sent out.

I'm also a bit curious as to the current status of these...
My helicopters and my dollar store-ish tools are both in the labeled, but not in FedEx's hands state. It is the middle of December, and FedEx has a huge backlog.
No one could have predicted that things would be running slow on their lowest priority shipping class.
Want to start a pool on when the helicopters actually arrive? My prediction, of the four of us, @studerc@editorkid@JerseyFrank and @hamjudo, 1 of our helicopter packages will arrive before December 25, and 3 after.
@hamjudo Oh, I'm not really worried about when mine arrives -- it's a me gift. But FedEx just says my tracking number doesn't exist. That gives me the right to be higher-maintenance than you guys. Even if it is@lisaviolet's fault.

These have shipped (as of Saturday) and we're looking into the tracking issue now. It should be fixed and correct tracking should be uploaded by end of day today.
@JonT FedEx tracking says mine got to FedEx SmartPost Dallas at 7:17PM today. Which means it should get to my house on the 22nd. So I will probably lose at my own pool.
@JonT Shipping worked out perfectly for us. They arrived on the 20th, and our family gift exchange was on the 21st. The teenagers have been flying them around the house..
I think all my order tracking numbers are mixed up.. it's a race to see who gets here first... tools, helis, or batteries... or those freebie usb plugs in the phone holder cutout box
I can't find it now but I'm pretty sure I heard and saw on the news tonight a picture of a FedEx semi that wrecked. Packages all over the highway. It was probably @lisaviolet's fault.
I'm trackless, too. And tactless and fatass and lotsa other stuff, but still my number doesn't show up on my list of FedEx packages coming. (I did, however, see that I have something arriving soon from Medford, OR. Since I didn't order anything myself, I suspect that somebody has sent some Harry & David goodies my way. So I will have a fruitful holiday, if not a helicoptered holiday.)
I checked my tracking and it's apparently going to take 11 days to get from Texas to California. Luckily, my order is scheduled to arrive the day AFTER Christmas.
@fantom2993 Mine was in Redlands, CA this afternoon, but shows that it is going to take 6 more days to go 450 miles up I-5. I think they may be under promising and over delivering though, I received another package today that was originally scheduled for late next week.
So as you all know, this is pretty accurate representation of how the shipping situation for these has gone:
In the spirit of transparency I wanted to give everyone some more insight on what actually happened.
80% these were shipped from our warehouse on 12/12 and the other 20% went out the next day on 12/13 (we called in our warehouse employees on a Saturday to make sure they were out in time). Unfortunately for us the trailer was picked up by SmartPost during the two busiest days of the year for them and they then spent the last five days working through last weeks shipments. This means our trailer was sitting in their yard and was just processed today which is causing the tracking numbers that are now showing up to display them being sent out with a date of 12/17 (which is not when they left our warehouse).
We've been in contact with SmartPost operations over the past few days and pushed them to send these as early as possible, and today was the earliest they were able. As a result most of you will get your helichopters before Xmas but a few of you won't and that really sucks.
I wish we could have done more to get these to you sooner but after a shipment leaves our warehouse it's largely out of our hands. Sorry again everyone.
@hollboll God bless ye Mehry men and lady...the helicopters arrived in time for that last minute Santa gift request to be fulfilled. Thank goodness my son asked for a rc helicopter! Cant these kids stick to their santa lists without last minute add ons? :)
@hollboll Totally a success! Need to fix one stabilizer bar, but kids thought the helicopters were awesome. Also found the added feature that we can make grandma's house alarm chirp if we fly these inside!!
Ordered 2, both Helis fly, but only one controller works. Have put the batteries from one into the other that were new and used even more new batteries, controller has no power/light/function;/
@Outofmymind So umm ya. I got 2 more delivered today. For a total of 4 when I ordered 2. That was quick Meh, I only put in the complaint of a broken controller last night!
@JonT So ya, I dont know how I got double ordered, the 2nd tracking # never showed up in my details. I can tell you one was sent out 12/12 and the other 12/13( and oddly I got the 12/13 a day before the 12/12! )Being as I had a faulty controller in one, that makes up for that, but what about the 2nd one I received.
My three helicopters arrived. We are hosting Helicopter Wars at work on Fridays so we wanted more helipters available so others could join in.
I must say on a scale of 1 to 10 with Meh being the highest these are a 1, maybe. Comparing to my S107G that I paid $17 for on Amazon:
Cons: - The build quality is way lower, paint - The landing gear is plastic instead of metal - The helicopter can't hover, instead it does small circles - The controller feels cheap - The charging port is on the bottom so the helicopter has to lay on it's side to charge - The helicopter takes awhile to sync...wait for the light to go solid then turn on the remote seems to work best - steering is lethargic and hard to balance with the
Pros: - Seems to take off faster - Cost was less...but for $9 I would get the better one
@tightwad I'm wondering if the difference in takeoff time and stability is almost purely in the landing gear being metal and thus heavier and more balance.
@Outofmymind I will weigh them on Monday if I remember to...I think it's more than that however, the shape is different with a wider airframe and body.
@JonT So totes' got a package today from meh with a single red helicopter in it. I also noticed that there was nothing else in there, no note, no goat prize, just some texas air. I just wanted to check in to see if this was just a random extra helicopter for me or if it was the prize I got for the caption contest.
Why must you continue to tug at my heartstrings. I need some closure here!
@JonT "Get ready to ride"...so not sure if that means, yes or no. I for one think no, simply because I still lack a goat prize and the rest of my Fukubukuro 3...
@studerc The answer is yes! That's your prize for the giveaway. Goat prizes are legitimately a work in progress, I don't forget my former goats so y'all will get something. The Fuku 3 thing is weird, I'll double check on that Monday.
Just got the copter today. After charging & following all the instrucks still no go. Remote light blinks then goes steady red after cycling control throttle, nothing after that. i don,t want a refund, just for this thing to work !! any suggestions ??
@tmac69 Make sure copter was charged up, the LED light in the cord will go out when charged. Next switch copter to ON, white LED comes on blinking. Next turn controller on, push throttle up slowly to max. Led Light in copter should switch from flashing to solid during this time. Lower throttle down to min, then increase throttle to start spinning the blades.
@tmac69 The white LED light is on the front of the copter, it should turn on and flash when you flip the switch to on on the copter by the charging plug. If not the battery is not charged or something is wrong with the electronics/copter rechargable battery
@toddmac you have to turn it on. The switch is very small on the bottom of the helicopter. It's a very small white switch. The light should go on when you turn it on.
@shaine228 Thank you so much. I thought the weird black thing next to the charge port was the switch. Instead it must be some sort of stabilizer. That white switch is so small I would have never found it.
@Skylord123 no problem. lol I actually thought so too. I think that black switch is to set different frequency if you have more than one chopper. it's actually fun once you get the hang of it.
@shaine228 Yeah. I bought two of them and already busted off the top stabilizer arm thing on one of them. Going to glue it back on. They are a little hard to get used to and the signal cuts out sometimes. But for the price, I'm loving it.
Mine worked for about 5 seconds. It started and both propellers we're spinning, then the bottom one just stopped spinning. The little gear that is supposed to move that blade isn't spinning anymore. It's not locked up, just doesn't seem to be getting power.
So I charged it for about an hour, thinking maybe that was the problem. But nope, the bottom one won't spin, so no lift off.
Chopper arrived today. No instructions came with mine? I figured out how to charge the thing and put batteries in the remote, but I can't figure out how to get them to sync. Any tips?
@tonycolorado Look up a few posts where I walk through it. Turn on the copter( switch under it ), turn on remote. Push throttle up and back to bottom. Lights should be all solid on both units, increase throttle to take off.
@Outofmymind Got it! After I turned both the remote and helicopter on it took a good minute to connect, but after it did I throttled up and off we went. Thanks!
So some more hints and tips for people. When you get your unit you will find on the bottom of the foam replacement blades, cable and such. If you look on the top of the copter the stabilizer has only 1 strut attached. A replacement is in the bag but I found adding the 2nd strut increased stability in flight. It makes it wobble more at low rpm but more stable at high rpm.
Also do not overtighten the blades, they should move freely and will expand out correctly at speed due to centrifugal forces. Tighten them up prevents this and makes for a unstable aircraft.
If you are going to crash it, and you will many times, cut the throttle completely before impact. The unit is light enough crashing at a few feet will not hurt it. The damage comes from the unit still trying to spin as it impacts.
I am next going to attach weights on the skids in form of fishing weights. The model on amazon identical to this but is regarded as being much more stable has metal skids. I am convinced it is due to the weight under the copter which makes it slower in flight but more stable.
@zedikiahbrown This site is at best a deal a day, and this deal has long been sold. That isn't to say they will not ever have them again, or the current deal is actually a deal. That is left to you. They can be found for roughly $11 on ebay and if you really want to splurge the all metal higher quality version on amazon for $16.
@WINTERMUTE Already? Remember cut power before you crash! As for parts it appears almost all of these use universal kits. http://www.trendtimes.com/mini-helicopter-spare-blades.html Note link is for showing how universal it is. For better pricing search Ebay for RC heli parts tons of $4 for replacement everything offers.
@Outofmymind Do you know if all the syma s107 parts are interchangeable with this model? A complete wingset and balance bar is only $3 on Amazon. I broke the same thing already.
@cbechard58 They look close, the syma parts are better however...balance bar is much more rigid. Landing gear is different but that isn't part of the kit you are referencing.
@cbechard58 I don't know but I'll find out. I ordered two sets at $4.99 (they ship from the 'zon and not from china like the $2.19 ones) and they'll be here in a few days.
@WINTERMUTE I ordered a set also. I've been enjoying taking mine apart. It took me a long time to disassemble the main shaft. Looks like it might go back together with a new one now. We'll see
A wonderful Sunday morning surprise arrived on my doorstep. It was great fun. First flight I broke one of the skids as I couldn't figure out how to use it and next thing I know it's in the middle of the air and then i cut it off and it crashed back down. But played some more as the skid is only partially broken. The dogs don't seem impressed with it though.
Received mine on Friday. My son and I flew it all weekend, crashed countless times. Still flies like a champ. We are careful to kill the power before it hits the ground. Wish I would have bought two.
Ordered 2 of these. both charged up and worked great for about 10mins. Now the remotes have no output. I verified with my cellphone camera, it can show infrared output and neither remote blinks with fresh batteries. I assume the helicopters are good to go, they light up. As does the remote power light but no pairing or control output. They were fun for a few mins before being totally worthless. Good luck finding infrared repair tips, can't find squat.
@cbreeden24 Does the LED light stop blinking? They need to be on a flat surface so the gyro can activate. Mine work but no infra-red light is visible on the camera.
@tightwad Yes, both the helicopter LED and the remote LED stop blinking when I do the pairing procedure. Then when I go to throttle up, nothing moves. I didn't have my copters with me but at a family gathering, I was able to verify my camera infrared test on a very similar looking helicopter remote someone else had there. Using a Note 3 phone.
I ordered 3 different colors and got one blue and two black. All of them came listed as channel A. Anyway to switch the channel on the helicopter itself?
@bxm83 RTFM (don't feel bad, I didn't either at first). select the channel on remote. turn on first helicopter (white led will flash). turn on remote (red light will flash). move left stick all the way up and down and both lights will stop flashing.
Mine somehow showed up yesterday morning! Of course, I've had the one I got from the DailySteals rush for two weeks now and haven't tried it yet. But tonight may be The Night The Cat Never Forgets.
It wasn't. Tonight won't be either. And probably not tomorrow night unless we stop drinking early hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. But then I'm off from work until Jan. 5, so probably sometime between tomorrow night and that morning.
Hubby ordered 2 and I ordered 2. Got them last week. Today we wrapped them up and I'm not sure who to give them to. When the mail arrived today there were 5 packages from Meh. 2 of those were addressed to me and they each contained 2 more helicopters. So now I have 8 helicopters to give to people. Think I'll just pass them out at the door when people come to visit Xmas Eve. (I did notify Meh that I had gotten 4 more and suggested they charge my account for them.)
@Teripie hi..i need a replacement santa gift, if you are interested in offloading 1 or 2? Russian Christmas is coming and Santa can replace gifts then ;)
So...I have two, and get no lights on either chopper, and no rotor spinin' makes for a meh experience even for an $8 helo. Anyone have any suggestions? Bueller? Bueller?
@toddmac I had the same issue. The very itty bitty plastic switch just below where you charge it is the power switch. Not the much larger black square thing that's sticking out. I think that's the IR receiver. Good news is I was able to slide that back and forth until realizing it's not a switch and it still works
I've been too busy playing with this little bit of RC awesomeness to post! It's actually surprisingly easy to fly. Charges seem to last 30mins or so after an hour on USB.
Flys easily enough and I've yet to destroy it!
ps - my coworkers hate it. (i think it's jealousy.)
tenuous-pungent-mouse. I'm new to this Meh stuff, but it seems fun. These copters are AWESOME! Bought 3. Had them delivered to work. My coworker and I had a great time crashing into stuff. They held up great. Then I took mine home yesterday and broke it this morning playing with it. I am amazed at how well these little things hold up to the punishment that was delt to them. I need to see if I can find the top stabilizer part online somewhere.
@dragsys Yeah, I have the replacement parts package. Unfortunately, it's not the stabilizer bar that is broke. It is the top piece that connects to the stabilizer bar. Of all the parts to break, it had to be that one. LOL I ordered some replacement parts for a similar looking helicopter, since it is impossible to find any for this specific helicopter. Hopefully they will fit.
Through some Meh miracle I ended up with 8 of these bad boys. I have 8 people coming for dinner tonight. Should I pass them out, or should I just hoard them?
Contrary to much of the above---this thing is a piece of crap. TOTALLY unstable and TOTALLY uncontrollable. In "MHO" the video showing these things flying must have been "manipulated" (to say the least). I've spent several hours (fully charged, fresh/new batteries in controller) and this thing takes off but CANNOT be controlled. The ONLY input that had any effect was to turn the controller off. I do not have any positive comments, other than I am sure as hell glad I didn't spend any more than $13.00.
@whoeduxpect If the stabilizer bar is broken, or not connected right, then it will not be stable. There are other issues that lead to control problems.
If you can take a picture of the blades we might be able to see a problem.
To anyone that thinks these helicopters are crap: I have flown other models in the past. None of them are "easy" to control. Especially when you first start using them. In my experience, it takes some time to get used to flying them. Expect there to be crashing involved. But this particular one has not been any harder to fly than any other I have played with. And the price was awesome, knowing that they are going to get broken from the hilarious and wild flying antics that some of us like to do. :)
@JerseyFrank The top props spin the opposite direction from the bottom props. The props should balance each other out and the body shouldn't spin. See if the motor or gears for one set of props is jammed.
Bought 2, one was DOA this AM but the other was a lot of fun. Yes it crashed but never broke and son had a ball. Will contact support in the AM, but right now it was a good toy.
Don't want to get all mushy here, but thank you so much for these! I bought three, one for my hubby & one for each of my sons. My husband brought his into the living room & repeatedly crashed it into things- the floor, the wall, the Christmas tree, the ceiling fan, etc. My daughter, who has autism and is quite difficult to entertain, was ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED. Seeing her laugh so much was the best thing I could have gotten for Christmas!
I purchased 3 of these helicopters. Two of them work great. The third one, the remote does not work. When I fly the helicopter with one of the other remotes it does not go any higher than about a foot off the ground. I have charged it according to your instructions as I did with the other 2 helicopters. Can I send it back for a replacement?
@Louise I had the same issue but was solved by the fact I had extras show up, but until that point support was going to mail me a new controller. Just contact them and let them know you have a bad control.
What the heck is going on with the shipping now? It's now delayed again from the 27th to the 30th. The shipping is weird. The helicopters went from Sacramento to Creswell OR, which is only 10 miles north of me, then to Portland which is another 100 miles north, now to Kent, WA which is another 130 miles north of Portland. I am beginning to think there is some sort of shenanigans or at least some Tom foolery going on here.
@bobrhoades When I lived in TN in 2007 I ordered a TV from Dell whose warehouse/operations was less than 8 miles from me. It shipped the next day and traveled 7 states to get to my front door 8 miles away.
Yeah, mine went from Denver to reno and back to denver again, showed here yesterday. They fly great though, much easier than the radio shack one. Thanks meh!
@Trumbull14 I'm still on my first one. I have flown it inside, outside and inside to outside. ( when outside you MUST keep controller aimed at it to control it ). I have crashed probably 40 times and used it daily for over a week. I cut power before all crashes and haven't had to replace anything yet. I imagine if you ram into something full speed it will break, but it wasn't designed to be used recklessly.
3 days after Christmas 1 of 3 is down for the count...the plastic bit connecting the weight bar to the rotor shaft snapped. Super Glue held for about 45 seconds and then it broke again. I am getting better at controlling them, learning to counteract the oval it likes to hover in.
My husband and I had helicopter fights (nothing dirty) on Christmas. We tried to fly them into each other and see whose could still stay in the air. Sadly, neither of us was good enough to maneuver into the others chopper. We crashed them quite a lot though, and they are still going strong.
I know there was a shipping issue with these buy I still have yet to receive them. I am beginning to wonder if the FedEx guys stole them for some winter shenanigans.
@Saffer49 just checked your tracking number and it says "Arrived at local Post Office - Allow one to two additional days for delivery" as of 12/27. Something might be up with your post office, if you don't get them after another day or two I would let us know at https://meh.com/support. You can also find your tracking numbers for everything you order at https://meh.com/orders.
@nlcyford Please use the form at https://meh.com/support to let customer support know about your issue. It may take them a few days to get back to you. Thanks!
@vjoyhme I flew my 1st one another 20 minutes today( 2 charges I never let it run down though ). What the fuck are you people doing to these things, crashing them head on full speed into walls or something? The only damage I've had to my first one is bending the bar back several times cause the cats keep trying to eat it.
Anyone who has tried to fly a pre-gyro helicopter will know that these are a joy to use. This thing just takes right off, hovers and turns on a dime. It is incredible how good it works for something that costs 8 bucks! Thanks Meh!
BEST 8 Bucks I have ever spent! ( Actually $16) These are the best remote copters I have ever bought. If these pop up again I will buy more, The fly great, the last a decent amount of time on a charge and they crash pretty good too. Seriously, these are the best remote copters I've ever owned.......oh and my son loves them too!
@suckaakcus looks like you just sent in your email a little over a day ago, we have a very small support team and because of the holidays turnaround time for responses is a little longer than usual. Please be patient with us.
@Bogie Okay, on a PC and can do a bit more detail. I think mine is having issues with the channels. When I turn the helicopter and controller, it takes the 5-15 seconds for the controller to connect to the helicopter. When I throttle up the rotor, it spins for less then a second then stops. It behaves the same on any channel set. I've let the helicopter run out of batteries and recharge it completely it still acts the same.
Must get more cowbell (and helicopters). next time i will get more than one. the problem i ran into is i bought one. now i'm afraid to crash it as then i'll have none so i fly it very conservatively and won't have helicopter fights with the guys at work, but if i bought more than one then i can be reckless and careless with the first and still have more to play with......
@katblue After use. 3 or 4 crashes (of which similar helicopters I have had crash hundreds of times). They come with extra blades etc but the shaft holding the blades comes loose from the motor. Same thing on all 3.
@bstauver Still on my first one, probably have charged it 40 times now. Tempted to smash it with a hammer just so I can be in the this thing is junk club.
My wife and I finally got around to trying a helicopter fight tonight. Like others, we basically found out we are not good enough pilots to purposely crash in to each other. The cool (probably not cool actually) thing we learned though is that running two helis at one time caused our electric fireplace to cycle on and off!
@franjie77 Same. No legs broke but it doesn't fly nearly as controlled as it did before. I hope these come back one day, i'll buy 3 at the $8 price if so.
@chokcheesecake Yes, that worked great in the beginning and it still works, but after a few hard crashes it now gets weird at some angles and crashes down. Definitely great for the price though!
I ordered 2 of these which I got before Xmas. Super happy with the purchase, have flown them with my 8 month old baby and he loves them. Now I need 2 more of these, the niece wants it for her birthday when she saw them. Any chance they'll be two for Tuesday in the near future?
@Outofmehmind No way! I've only ever received exactly what I ordered soon after I ordered it... Inexcusable! Though I'm hoping the recent Fuku will be my new favorite thing...
@johnamo I got lucky on these. I ordered 2. Got 2 extra the following days later. I had a issue with one out of the box but I told them not to worry since I had 2 extra come. The one this week was quite awhile after the others so not sure if it came for the broken controller one or just random helis dropping from the sky a month later. Maybe I am in the Heli of the month club! Anyways STILL using the first one, although my cats try very hard to kill and eat it all the time. I donated 2 along with batteries for Toys for Tots. Not sure what I will do with the newest one, but I will make someone's day brighter with it.
@Outofmehmind Nice! I've found that helicopters like this are really pretty fascinating to people who haven't tried them before. Good on you for donating a few of them.
@mikut99 Since mediocre is handling the warranty, please contact meh.com/support with your concern. Keep in mind that they have been bombarded with emails and will most likely take several business days to respond, but will do their best to take care of you.
@sbfield I'm sorry, They aren't that easy to control. atlas not for my wife and myself. The tiny quad copter however, AMAZING! I wish I had ordered the max amount now.

@mediocrebot MEH WITH PREJUDICE!!!!!!!
@roqbthepirate
@unixrab Nice promo video for more great North DFW companies. Thanks @unixrab
@ChadP
@unixrab Ahem... I believe you meant to post this down in the lower decks...
@Kyser_Soze believe me I have been so ordered! @thumperchick
We made a little demo video to show these babies in action:
@JonT "real actual field tests"
@JonT Man, not so promising from that video, Meh, still might buy one and put my VMP to good use.
@JonT you need some less depressing lights in there
@JonT I really REALLY want one of those cows
@JonT The baby arm could outfly all of you! Screw it I'm in for one.
@Nexar that might just be the filter, ask @ChadP. It's not all bad lighting though!
@Nexar Some of the lights were off for our recently-installed christmas lights that you can kind of see in the background. But yeah like half our bulbs are out.
@JonT thanks to @moose for not blading my face.....if that's a thing.
@JonT Yay, gay flag!
@Nexar I work in a similar office with a bunch of gamers. People will yell at you if you turn on the lights.
@JonT Flashback:
@hippiechik Amazon. I sent them a three pack for Seligman; glad to see they're getting use. I wonder if it would be light enough if you filled one with helium?
Helicopters are fun.
I'd like to say that no helicopters were harmed in the making of this video...but...well....you saw the video.
@JonT Jeezus you all have a lot of crazy stuff on your whiteboard
Are these any good. Once bought a toy helicopter that kept bumping into the wall in my apt.
@ninkorn I'm no helicopter expert but I've flown a few in my day and this is definitely the most stable and easiest to fly.
@ninkorn The secret to avoiding that: save vodka tonics for AFTER you're done flying.
@ninkorn maybe it was you bumping your head into the wall. I think that happened to me with my last heli .
Not bad for the price
Love these helicopters, and $8 is a great price.
lol. "whoever you give it to will enjoy the anticipation of struggling to free the damn thing from the packaging".
Can I connect four of these together to make a quadcopter?
@heli0s That is totally up to you and a friend to go in on that.
@heli0s I think the better question is why hasn't that happened yet?
No baby arm. Meh.
not bad for a christmas present. I wouldnt buy it for myself lol
At this price, it doesn't matter if you crash them. They are pretty much disposable
flatulent-cluttered-wombat
Sweeeet getting two
In for 3 for Christmas gifts
@Nexar Yep just purchased 3 myself
@Nexar ditto
Let's hope your estimated delivery is accurate ...
mehlicopter
Based on that video I can see you guys didn't hold back on Christmas decorations.
bought
I'm in for three, great stocking stuffers:) great price....
I'm guessing these are IR controlled and not RF?
EDIT: Yes, I see on the box it's IR controlled. Well, I would have preferred RF, but WTF, it's time to bust my Meh cherry... in for a couple. My nephew will love one.
@ruouttaurmind Yeah, you can see the IR transmitter in the picture of the remote.. I was wondering that too lol
@ruouttaurmind But I digress... it's $8. :D
Well, the damage is done. titled-ferocious-powder (I believe I was offered that on a Vegas weekend once)
@ruouttaurmind hmmm, did I just make a triple mistake?
grandiose gaudy salmon. All sites should use meh-like confirmation codes.
Just popped. My cherry been waiting for a good purchase for both of my boys.
@catman25 Welcome to the darkside catman25, glad to see you around WSS lately. :)
@xarous wss. ahhh u see my rants there lol
I formally poop on this deal. there.
Edit: I am very sad that I posted this with the comment above
impulsive-jolly-calcium
Counting on my brother-in-law running this into someones head. $8 on first meh purchase well spent.
Tried to order two. Kept getting zipcode errors. 2 pending charges on my account.
@Kenahn https://meh.com/support
@Kenahn try making sure the address you're using matches what's on file with your bank exactly. Some of them are finicky about that.
This are selling quite fast! I'm surprised.
thoughtful-actually-fox
Congrats, you got me(h) back in for another month of VMP.
And for three of these things that I assume I'll be giving as gifts.
If I order an extra, do you think I could wind up with a stabilizing gyroscope of my own?
comedic-highfalutin-bourbon
@cleverogre What the HELL is a "Natural Crunchy Gauze Shirt"?
@Lera It was a '70s thing. Cotton gauze that was stiffer and scratchier than just plain gauze. Because it crumpled up on itself, it was naturally stretchy; you could pull on the fabric and the crumples would stretch out. Very itchy.
@cleverogre holy shit snacks
Santa brought a plethora of marshmallow shooters last Christmas. Am thinking that Santa can bring these and we can take turns taking target practice in the basement.
@rm9116 yessssss
@rm9116 PULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!
Wish I had kids to buy this piece of garbage for. Why no list price? I like the illusion of value!
GO YOU!!!
@esjacobs there was a list price, it's $13,900. Talk about value!
@esjacobs They're $16 at the Pilot truck stop in Eloy, AZ if that gives you sufficient illusion?
@esjacobs Same model on ebay for $30-40. Very similar starting around $20
Muddy-cluttered-bee?
fanciful-cultured-airplane. I think my order wins the relevance contest today.
@j8048188 I beg to differ... I think mine is more relevant. ..pesky-hilarious-fly times 3! Two are for my boys...who are in their late 20s...the red one is for ME, their mama. Dad has one already. Copter wars! Wahoo!
@j8048188 What airline is that?
elated-bouncy-snake
@azide0x37 I love this.
Wasn't going to buy, but then Senor Chinface convinced me otherwise. bountiful-bawling-sparrow . Have you ever heard a robin cry?
@mehjohnson No, just doves.
I'm sure my cats are gonna love this thing, looking forward to it.
@wyk3d My cat "loves" mine.
juvenile-mouthy-cheese For $8? In for 3 xmas gifts.
@djjedi made me LOL
So... I caved. plain-loose-banshee (is there any other kind?)
3 kids, 3 channels, 3 colors.
As long as I never respond to this with something like "TV screen now in 3 pieces" I think we're good.
$24 is a LOT cheaper than any one of the other RC Helis I own.
@bakerzdosen Oh, and here's my submission for my order (plain-loose-banshee):
@bakerzdosen oh I love them! good to see this vid here.
Wow, super zoom beta for centuple meh button clickers. Cool! Almost makes the lack of baby arm tolerable.
Bought 3 for the price of the last one I got. Please get here before Christmas.
@Jetlag i'm not holding my breath.
The video won me over. In for two with a side of rigorous-predominant-mango.
Sorry, I control+f has failed me. What batteries do I need for the controller?
I'm in for three already, just want to be prepared.
Thanks!
@Brandizzle I hope it's AA.
@Brandizzle @stupidrobot it takes AA - added to the specs :)
@hales Thanks!
@MasterST so sad poor baby
vile-benevolent-change....sorry...blame Google :)
Got one of each color. Going to take them to the family gift exchange.
Three kids, in for three of these little selfish-courteous-earwigs.
Ir remote? So what does it do when its out of range or blocked from view?
@eblade It falls from the sky in a manner similar to the way a brick falls from the sky. It looks more graceful doing it, though.
@lumpthar so is the inverse true? When it's flying does it hang in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't?
@Headly Yes. A bit.
@lumpthar shouldn't that brick be yellow?
@Headly @lumpthar ok.. despite my reservations about the remote being IR, I just bought 3 anyway. hope it doesn't suck too hardcore.
@Headly I love purple.
In for two, red and blue.
Being a poet, and I know it.
I love purple.
@Barney red + blue = PURPLE !!!
@Zebra I love PURPLE!
In for 3... Don't tell Mom!
Curse you, meh. My wife's gonna take away my credit card away, and I'm gonna have to blame you, @lisaviolet
@2many2no Glad to be of service.
Someone remind me not to bend over and pick these things up... whole-unbecoming-position And your daily order google search says:
In for three! disturbing-vexing-ninja
@ChiefScooter ditto...2 for presents one to terrify the neighbors annoying dog.
I'd buy it if they gave an estimated shipping date anywhere... be nice and silly- yet people would want... for office white elephant gift exchange.
Can't find expected shippping info anywhere though- and meh can sometimes be quick and sometimes be not very quick.
@OnionSoup AHHH... FAQ says 2 weeks... that won't work! :(
@OnionSoup it's actually at the top of this page in the specs! "Estimated Delivery 12/18 - 12/20"
@OnionSoup @hales
this is the kind of stupid fun you can share with your father on christmas. should these fly okay in a snowstorm on christmas day?
voidable-elaborate-pork
My experience with these is they are a blast to fly, but the 7 minute battery life and 45 minute charging time really put a damper on the fun.
@lumpthar umm, that's why you get THREE
@khunjeff But then you can't play battlecopters!
@MsELizardBeth Create another account and get 3 more!
Already got three for $1 off of DailySteals experiments. Would be a steal at this price... But I already have 10 half broken helicopters from Woot and 3 coming more to break from DailySteals.
@on You need to post more YouTube videos. Or any.
My boyfriend bought one 2 weeks ago for $30 and I broke it immediately. I'm so happy these are for sale, I bought 2!
In for two, need something to do on the day after Christmas here in the office.
Glad I forgot to cancel my VMP. My cat is gonna love this. Slick-dreary-skirt (how did they know what I was wearing today?)
In for two. zany-solid-soldier
my first meh!!!
Dear Mr. Meh,
I see from your video that a single one of these contraptions does not harbor sufficient lift capability to move a cow. I have submitted an order for three, with confidence that three will lift a cow.
You see, my dairy herd is aging and the twice-daily jaunt from the meadow to the milking barn is taking its toll on milk production.
Thank you kindly in advance,
Milky Smitty
Really, South Dakota?
"longer-careless-minotaur"
aldemaro.cruz@gmail.com
cluttered-audible-louse.
That's hitting a little close to home there, meh.
@JerseyFrank that's really meh-sterious, and just a bit scary. Hope you're rid of them soon.
In for two. With two grandkids, this should pretty much ensure that the cats don't survive past noon on the 25th.
Duly-frightened-load. (Ahem)
In for two. Can Meh promise us delivery by Christmas?
@joe43wv Ha!
@joe43wv Depends on which Christmas...
Bought 2 and evidently it's a "sassy-responsible-experiment."
In for a pair. misted-sexy-skeleton. There's a joke about a hard bone somewhere in there I'm sure of it...
In for 3! My two brothers-in-law and I will have at least a few minutes of fun on Christmas day, provided Meh makes good on the 12/18-12/20 shipping estimate!
creamy-zestful-desire....that sounds dirty
@djohnson64055 I thought it sounded dirty too, but google thought it sounded hungry.. haha
in for 3. Gotta have enough to go around for all the kids, including me.
@lisaviolet You are the bestest goat ever!
@Teripie Thank you. blushing
@lisaviolet Oh god, this thing just popped up in my email. ROFLOL!
@Teripie
What the hell is this place? Eh.. never mind. I don't care.
This has been a weird and crazy experience.
I only bought these because I thought they would sell out before I got to work. Now I feel cheated. :(
...well also they are cheap.
...and I like helicopters, but mostly because I thought they would sell out...
...maybe I should buy one more before they sell out.
@miko1 I got my SO to create an account so I could order 3 more.
Dammit VMP, in for 3, just cause they havent sold out.
potent-fat-sulfur
This site is weird .
@serenity
@lisaviolet You think you're a goat and you are calling @serenity weird?
@katblue I was voted in goat. https://meh.com/forum/topics/scapegoats-of-meh
@serenity now
@nadroj
@lisaviolet And THAT isn't weird?
@lisaviolet Yes, but it's still weird, especially to @serenity.
@katblue Okay, so this site is weird, I put up a gif saying "you're weird", you call me weird...it's all good.
@lisaviolet It's all your fault anyway...
@ruouttaurmind
@lisaviolet you're going to damage your desk. That will also be your fault.
@Headly There's actually a indentation with a soft pad there. Makes it hard to write, but my head's okay.
I didn't want one, so I ordered 3...what the hell is wrong with me?
laddered-musing-point
$37.50 on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/271672540546?lpid=82
Order name "acoustic-loving-ape" .
Maybe because I went for two (for stereo?) and
have been a sucker for a couple of speaker deals
?
I win the image competition, and now I'll take this to my manicurist and see whether they can replicate it. alert-countless-list indeed. [img][/img]
Notice how Meh promotes throwing things at each other when these flying toys fail? Maybe they should try selling some rocks.
@Teripie and glass houses?
To cheap to ignore.
what they need to give you is a replacement weight bar piece (the bar at the very top of the main rotor). i have yet to break a main rotor blade or tail rotor. but those damn weight/balance/whatever bar things constantly break for me.
@carl669 Try this.
@JonT Nice. Based upon those prices it would make more sense to simply order a back up or two of these!
@JonT is it just me, or is there a piece missing between the first pic and the rest? in the 1st pic, there's a connector between the top rotor and weight/balance bar thing. the rest of the pics don't show that.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
I love purple.
@jrwofuga That's my boy!
I'm not familiar with little r/c helis. How does the USB charging work? Does the USB charge the heli's voodoo battery and the batteries for the remote are a separate thing to replace?
@dboots batteries go in the controller which charges the heli via USB.
@dboots The remote has 6 AA batteries and a built-in charging cable. Alternatively, if you don't want to drain your remote's batteries, it comes with a small USB cable that you can plug into an outlet and charge that way.
@Moose now I regret not buying more yesterday
@nadroj Maybe VMPs should get a "Spoiler Alert: You're gonna wish you bought these tomorrow"...
@editorkid +1
Well I'm certainly not buying any of these unbecoming-annoying-blueberry WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?
@DaveInSoCal
@JonT Violet you're turning violet!
@DaveInSoCal I like purple.
I tried to order and kept getting that obnoxious video about "something went terribly wrong"!
@eleisia "I tried to order and kept getting that awesome and entertaining video about 'something went terribly wrong!'"
FTFY
@DaveInSoCal Please don't misquote me! Ordering helicopter for my grandson and couldn't.
@eleisia email "halp@meh.com" and they'll help if you still can't order.
absolute-scary-pickle. Meh knows me so well (I hate pickles!)
@Homechicken
@JonT Ahhh!
How can I track my order???
@dskahill https://meh.com/orders
@dskahill
Ninety Grand in toy helicopters shifted in less than 24 hours. Who knew?
@ruouttaurmind Not us!
@JonT So, you don't have a giant warehouse of these ready to send-out?
@ruouttaurmind
Mine have, so far, been on quite a journey. Dallas, Dallas, Las Cruses, Coachella, Walnut... Final destination is outside of Seattle. They must need to stop for fuel a lot.
@icicleridge I received mine yesterday. They're a bit smaller than I anticipated, but I'm sure my nephew will have a blast with them.
Are there any helicopters for sale? Couldn't order.
@eleisia Yep, lots. Did you get an error message? Don't forget to pick a color!
In for three. lanky-brainy-fairy, although I'm not really lanky...
@VeeDubTDI omg, you're Jake Gyllenhaal!?!?
@JonT ssshshshshhhh
@editorkid I just got really excited about that possibility but it has to be turned off to charge so no. Sigh...
@editorkid I love purple.
@Barney It's good to have you back.
@Moose Thanks for checking. Bummer about that, because I was starting to think about hey... what about daisy-chaining four 10-foot cables? And at that point, this thing is getting me a cold beer.
HELP!!
I want 1 but my credit card expired & I don't see a way to update it!
@Kyser_Soze If you select the blank in the How are you gonna pay for this stuff? dropdown you can enter details for a new payment method.
@Kyser_Soze we won't tell you how to fix it unless you buy three.
@nadroj Thanks, got 2.
obtuse-updated-hole. And in for three.
@bhtooefr bwahahaha
Since it seems like everybody that could possibly want a helicopter has purchased one by now it's the perfect time for…
CRAZY JONT'S KRAZY GIVEAWAY CRAZE!!!1!
I've got 2 of these to give away, and all you have to do to get one is give me your best caption for this photo:
@JonT's plan to decapitate the fuzzy creatures had come to fruition.
@JonT You must be this tall to attack the city.
@JonT What this? Shit, I must've mixed up my meds again!
@JonT tyson chandler's helicopter mushroom frog happy time
@JonT Step off Chandler! I got this...
@JonT GET TO THE CHOPPAH!
@JonT Sneak preview of the next fuku
Also, I don't know how many you have left to sell, but this might call for a random bump up of that buying limit... :-)
@JonT Ooh, look, a helicopter! Let's go play with WHAT THE? Alright, who left their breast implant in the snack room again?
@JonT This is toadally going to be a tight squeeze
@JonT Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit dropping acid...
@JonT after the vote, the House leadership prepared to leave by helicopter for their retreat on Topless Island.
@JonT Mediocre Corp's staff meetings are always a little edgier on Furry Fridays.
@JonT "Do you guys think Kickstarter would have funded Meh if they had known who was making the decisions?"
@JonT Two brain-slugged hypnotoads, a turtle hydro-cannon, and a giant maverick protect the crystal sphere... even Airwolf might not be able to pull this one off...
@JonT Is this still going on?
And the winners are…… @studerc for his Pokémon inspired entry and @RedOak for revealing our secret leadership. Thanks everybody!
@JonT
@JonT Go ahead and toss that sucker in with the rest of my "prizes" and hold it hostage for an undisclosed period of time :)
@JonT Sweet... will join the rest of the meh fleet at our compound! Also provides a sacrificial unit where we can throw flying caution to the wind. Thx.
hyperactive-cavernous-sage
Wasn't going to. But, apparently I decided I could possibly use them for the Holiday party at my new job where they are doing a cheapo gift exchange....and the party isn't until some time in the new year.
grisly-prosperous-learning
@Kyser_Soze
bloody-lagging-clover - in for 2.
Everyone, meet Clover. Clover, meet everyone.
You win, meh. I held out all day but finally caved for two. I have no idea what I'm going to do with them, but they'll likely make good gifts for someone!
I mistakenly placed an order twice for the $ 8.00 helicopter. I only wanted one. What can I do. There was no way to adjust the order form, Thanks Stan
@stanpat444 contact us at https://meh.com/support. Just so you know for the future you can cancel within 15 minutes at https://meh.com/orders.
we tried so hard to make these sell out today... but alas, there seems to be an endless supply
@roqbthepirate Next week they will show up again with the Meh logo.
@wisenekt Or with little capes and a an electronic 'screamer' box attached...
@duodec n-i-i-i-ce!
@roqbthepirate Next week they'll come back as flying helicopter speaker docks, in Georgia Red.
@Sarahsda I love purple.
I hope my little brother likes these 'cause the supply held out longer than my willpower.

Thanks - maybe later !

Why are there so many helicopters?
@phatmass Here is a better Question
@phatmass @Poppiart needed a way to get 30,000 speaker docks to Texas.
"The most fun you can have for eight bucks."
Clearly OP has never met his mom...
Over 11,000 sold! Is this a new meh record?
I couldn't get on my computer Yesterday to check emails. Just saw this RC Helicopter deal this morning. Too late to order any for myself. I missed out!!!!! WHAAAAAAAAA! I so wanted one for me, probably would have ordered 2 or 3 more for other family. PLEASE give me another chance!!!! Pretty Please!
I want to cancel my order Please do so
@diegolee68 https://meh.com/support, though it might already be too late because we try to ship everything by the next day.

@JerseyFrank I see what you did there.
@JerseyFrank Nice. Thank goodness the system decided to glitch, I for one blame @lisaviolet!
@studerc
My prediction, of the four of us, @studerc @editorkid @JerseyFrank and @hamjudo, 1 of our helicopter packages will arrive before December 25, and 3 after.
@hamjudo Oh, I'm not really worried about when mine arrives -- it's a me gift. But FedEx just says my tracking number doesn't exist. That gives me the right to be higher-maintenance than you guys. Even if it is @lisaviolet's fault.
@editorkid

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flogging_a_dead_horse
@ChadP But that would mean that the problem is resolved...is it resolved? I haven't seen anything about that... :/
@studerc looks like mine shipped this morning.
Hey everybody,
These have shipped (as of Saturday) and we're looking into the tracking issue now. It should be fixed and correct tracking should be uploaded by end of day today.
(@studerc, @editorkid, @JerseyFrank, @hamjudo, @wattsei)
P.S. THANKS @lisaviolet
@JonT You did hold my winning helicopter back with the rest of my goat prize right?
@JonT I owe you another beer. Swing by Chicago anytime, and hey, as long as you're headed this way, bring my copter kplz?
@JonT FedEx tracking says mine got to FedEx SmartPost Dallas at 7:17PM today. Which means it should get to my house on the 22nd. So I will probably lose at my own pool.
@JonT
Estimated delivery : Wed 12/24/2014. Estimated.
@JonT Shipping worked out perfectly for us. They arrived on the 20th, and our family gift exchange was on the 21st. The teenagers have been flying them around the house..
tracking seems to show as being shipped today... but how do you get three helicopters in a 7 x7x7 box that is less than one pound?
@hoosier FedEx tends to use placeholders until the final scan.
@hoosier
@pooflady If none of those packages were flying away, it probably wasn't these.
@editorkid They started to fly away, but as expected they made it about 12 feet and crashed rather unspectacularly into a ditch...
So... lurking quietly as others complained, but still absolutely no tracking info for my 3 choppas...
Get the choppas to me!
I can't find my order tracking information of Fedex. Where is my helicopter?
@drjbc have you looked in http://meh.com/orders ?
@nadroj Yes, sure. But I could get this message 'This tracking number cannot be found, please check the number or contact the sender.'
I checked my tracking and it's apparently going to take 11 days to get from Texas to California. Luckily, my order is scheduled to arrive the day AFTER Christmas.
@fantom2993 Same here in Chicago. But I got the "Tracking number cannot be found" message until this morning, so I'll take the improvement, I guess.
@fantom2993 Mine was in Redlands, CA this afternoon, but shows that it is going to take 6 more days to go 450 miles up I-5. I think they may be under promising and over delivering though, I received another package today that was originally scheduled for late next week.
Helicopter Shipping Update
@JonT
@hollboll
@JonT Dammit, how can I forgive you for something that wasn't your fault?! Also,
@editorkid
@JonT
@medz Awesome and strangely better than most TV series special effects.
@hollboll God bless ye Mehry men and lady...the helicopters arrived in time for that last minute Santa gift request to be fulfilled. Thank goodness my son asked for a rc helicopter! Cant these kids stick to their santa lists without last minute add ons? :)
@medz
@mikibell Yesssss. #winning.
@hollboll Totally a success! Need to fix one stabilizer bar, but kids thought the helicopters were awesome. Also found the added feature that we can make grandma's house alarm chirp if we fly these inside!!
I haven't received my order
@zaymyboy Read the post directly above yours for information.
@zaymyboy Get in line. I'm in Texas and Smart-as-a-Post is now estimating Saturday delivery.
Cons:
- The build quality is way lower, paint
- The landing gear is plastic instead of metal
- The helicopter can't hover, instead it does small circles
- The controller feels cheap
- The charging port is on the bottom so the helicopter has to lay on it's side to charge
- The helicopter takes awhile to sync...wait for the light to go solid then turn on the remote seems to work best
- steering is lethargic and hard to balance with the
Pros:
- Seems to take off faster
- Cost was less...but for $9 I would get the better one
@tightwad I'm wondering if the difference in takeoff time and stability is almost purely in the landing gear being metal and thus heavier and more balance.
@Outofmymind I will weigh them on Monday if I remember to...I think it's more than that however, the shape is different with a wider airframe and body.
Ordered 2 one black one blue .. Got 2 blue :( does this mean they can't play at the same time ! Damn u meh !
@catman25 they should work fine together, just make sure they are on different channels.
@studerc I believe that is your prize, did you check the reference # on the label?
@JonT "Get ready to ride"...so not sure if that means, yes or no. I for one think no, simply because I still lack a goat prize and the rest of my Fukubukuro 3...
@studerc The answer is yes! That's your prize for the giveaway. Goat prizes are legitimately a work in progress, I don't forget my former goats so y'all will get something. The Fuku 3 thing is weird, I'll double check on that Monday.
@JonT No worries, I appreciate your continued efforts. Thank you for the helicopter! You are a rockstar!
@Outofmymind Thanx for the reply. Thats exactly what i did however i see no white LED light
@tmac69 The white LED light is on the front of the copter, it should turn on and flash when you flip the switch to on on the copter by the charging plug. If not the battery is not charged or something is wrong with the electronics/copter rechargable battery
I have two. Neither work. No lights on helicopter itself. Blinking or otherwise.
But for the price, I'm loving it.
i notice when i increase the throttle from down to up the red led blinks faster but after cycling through throttle Blades ain't kickin
@remo28 http://rchelicopterguide.weebly.com/repairs.html check and make sure screws are tight. Not the one on the blades so much as the shafts and so forth
Mine came today; hope they all work since they're getting shipped out tomorrow.
still no chopper or tracking info. starting to feel like the fubu 3 i still haven't gotten.
Mine came yesterday and my son is having a lot of fun with it, the cats aren't as impressed.
Thanks!
@Outofmymind - similar problem here. No light on chopper. No go.
Are there any more for sale, if so where do I purchase?
@zedikiahbrown This site is at best a deal a day, and this deal has long been sold. That isn't to say they will not ever have them again, or the current deal is actually a deal. That is left to you. They can be found for roughly $11 on ebay and if you really want to splurge the all metal higher quality version on amazon for $16.
@zedikiahbrown https://www.dailysteals.com/p/40708/The-Repeller-3-5-Channel-RC-Helicopter-with-Gyro-and-Twin-Rotors--Metal-Frame-and-IR-Transmitter--Choice-of-Blue-or-Red- $11. They will not show up for Christmas.
Does anybody know what brand replacement parts these are compatible with? I need a new balance bar and top connector for the rotor shaft.
We'll see
Still two days away FedEx. cries must airlift toy cow to safety
@cbreeden24 You should definitely reach out to halp@meh.com and see what they can do for you.
I love purple.
@Teripie can I visit your house?
@vrillusions You just saved the day, I never saw that tiny switch and thought the black square was the switch. I was ready to give up. Thanks so much!
so far it's logged a good 10 minutes or so of air time and still in one piece. That's a new record.
Made the dog so scared that he went upstairs and crapped in a bedroom. Who do I talk to at meh to fix this?
@natebishop aw man, guess we need to start posting a disclaimer in the specs that we are not responsible or liable for any resulting pet crap.
@JonT Too late. My dog ruined my $5 thrift store rug before this disclaimer was...disclaimed. I shall see you in court, sir.
@jdeathe The packaging should have had at least one replacement stabilizer in it. Look for a little plastic bag with it and a couple of extra rotors.
@Teripie I'm still waiting for my three...maybe you can send them to me!
no go.. doesn't charge, doesn't work =(. disappointed...
So, here it is, Christmas Eve and it just dawned on me I hadn't wrapped these yet for the kids.
Come to think of it, I didn't see the package from Mediocre yet.
Check the tracking and they still haven't shipped yet. (But the label was indeed created back on the 12th.)
Oh well. Glad I didn't promise them to anyone.

I have no reason to hide.
@whoeduxpect If the stabilizer bar is broken, or not connected right, then it will not be stable. There are other issues that lead to control problems.
If you can take a picture of the blades we might be able to see a problem.
@hamjudo The greatest cause of unstable flight without anything being broken is people tightening down the blades thinking they should not be loose.
@whoeduxpect Odd, I couldn't control my radio shack one, but this one I can (sorta)
Notice how so many of the above refer to crashing into things??? My point exactly--this thing is TOTALLY uncontrollable.
Totally worth it for the amount of fun we had Christmas morning! Now I know it's worth it to step up to a fancier model.
This is easily the best Christmas gift we played with today. We're about to go out in the cul-de-sac for a little night flyin'.
So night flying was good until my son took the controls. Any ideas on how to fix it if the cockpit spins?
@JerseyFrank try adjusting the knob below the right joystick
@nadroj it's not rotational drift. It's spinning equally and oppositely the props.
@JerseyFrank The top props spin the opposite direction from the bottom props. The props should balance each other out and the body shouldn't spin. See if the motor or gears for one set of props is jammed.
@hamjudo I'll check it out if I get a chance, but I've already scrapped the broken one for parts for the survivor.
@mylissia
@JonT
Thanks meh!
2개를 샀는데 .. 리모콘이 한개가 작동이안되요 !!
이걸어쩌죠 ? 다른한개는됨...
This was the worst helicopter i every bought it broke after 1 day
@Trumbull14 I'm still on my first one.
@Trumbull14 was the worst pilot I've ever had, broke me after one day.
@helicopter
I also have a tracking # that states I got 3 helicopters BUT only 2 work. How do I go about getting a replacement??????blueblazesinc@yahoo.com
@nlcyford Please use the form at https://meh.com/support to let customer support know about your issue. It may take them a few days to get back to you. Thanks!
I purchase 3 of these and two broke the second day!
@Outofmymind It's not that serious! The f word really? For 8 bucks I didn't expect them to last forever with kids.
@vjoyhme why does the f word have to be serious?
Anyone who has tried to fly a pre-gyro helicopter will know that these are a joy to use. This thing just takes right off, hovers and turns on a dime. It is incredible how good it works for something that costs 8 bucks! Thanks Meh!
BEST 8 Bucks I have ever spent! ( Actually $16) These are the best remote copters I have ever bought. If these pop up again I will buy more, The fly great, the last a decent amount of time on a charge and they crash pretty good too. Seriously, these are the best remote copters I've ever owned.......oh and my son loves them too!
3 helicopters arrived today. I am pleased with them. You win this round, Meh.
My helicopter didn't work, and no one at MEH is responding to my requests to return and get a refund.
@suckaakcus looks like you just sent in your email a little over a day ago, we have a very small support team and because of the holidays turnaround time for responses is a little longer than usual. Please be patient with us.
Helicopter worked for 1 charge. after proper charging, the roater spins for 1 second then loses connection to the remote.
@Bogie Same here, Anyone have the solution yet?
The remote for the copter toggles the power on my TV.
@JerseyFrank bonus!!
@JerseyFrank That happened once for us as well, but we haven't been able to duplicate it.
I've been playing with one of the two I ordered. I got way more enjoyment out of it than the $8 it cost me. Win!
All three I purchased are broke. Very big pieces of junk.
@bstauver Was this before or after you used them?
@katblue After use. 3 or 4 crashes (of which similar helicopters I have had crash hundreds of times). They come with extra blades etc but the shaft holding the blades comes loose from the motor. Same thing on all 3.
@bstauver Have you contacted meh.com/support?
@bstauver FTFY. "Very small pieces of junk."
@bstauver Still on my first one, probably have charged it 40 times now. Tempted to smash it with a hammer just so I can be in the this thing is junk club.
Mine worked for less than 24 hours. The bar on top that balances it broke off...dead helicopter.
My wife and I finally got around to trying a helicopter fight tonight. Like others, we basically found out we are not good enough pilots to purposely crash in to each other. The cool (probably not cool actually) thing we learned though is that running two helis at one time caused our electric fireplace to cycle on and off!
@zacatac Remote control for a fireplace for $8? Man you got a good deal!
I wish I bought more of these. Crashed it one too many times and one of the legs broke off.
@franjie77 Same. No legs broke but it doesn't fly nearly as controlled as it did before. I hope these come back one day, i'll buy 3 at the $8 price if so.
@Stallion Have you tried using the L/R thing on the controller? That stabilized mine.
@potchi If you don't mind paying a bit more they sell them on Amazon with steel parts instead of plastic for around $16 each usually.
Awesome ! Way more beefy and durable than I expected.
Easily my favorite Meh purchase so far. Cheap (disposable-ish) helicopters never get old!
@johnamo And if you are lucky like me they keep randomly showing up at the door. Another appeared Tuesday.
I bought two helicopters and the blue one doesn't work that is the one I gave my husband.
@mikut99 you chose the right one to give away.
@mikut99 Since mediocre is handling the warranty, please contact meh.com/support with your concern. Keep in mind that they have been bombarded with emails and will most likely take several business days to respond, but will do their best to take care of you.
should've bought 3 - the dogbone weight on top just disappeared :(
I bought two, gave one to my son....Mine never worked....at all! (Don't know about son's)
@sbfield That's a bummer! Did you write into support during the 90 day warranty period?
@sbfield I'm sorry, They aren't that easy to control. atlas not for my wife and myself. The tiny quad copter however, AMAZING! I wish I had ordered the max amount now.
Bought this a while back. Broke after a few days. Not well made.
