Too many. We’re cutting that list down to in-home family only for gifts, but I’ll send my usual cookies/fudge/something to the rest. Not that that’s much cheaper…
Two of my five children have started their own families. The third is getting married in October. With 4 of 5 children being adults (youngest is 15) and 5 1/2 Grandchildren so far Christmas was getting expensive for this retiree. So we gave family gifts: Fukubukuros. The deal was they had to send a video of the opening ceremony and they had to put together their own Fuku for someone this year. It was actually fun putting the boxes together. And the look on their faces when they pulled out the As Seen On TV crap I threw in. Two for Tuesday really came in handy for this project. Doing it again this year.
I have a small family (wife, Mom, married sister with two kids). The adults stopped buying gifts for each other. We just get stuff for the kids. Even that’s not much fun now that they’re teenagers. I tried implementing a family gift to a charity but that only lasted one year.
3 kids, and 3 grandkids under 5. 2 -inlaws get included in kids gifts. So 6 total. Wife and I get our own gifts when we want them. Just got mine over the weekend.
2 adult kids, 6 grandkids, but don’t get to see 2 of them, so unable to give gifts -long story, children of deceased daughter. 1 niece, 2 octogenarian in-laws, sister-in-law & her husband, and of course my dear wife & best friend of 38 years. This will be a good year. I got the opportunity to cash out a modest pension from a former employer, and also to cash out my disability benefit. Both equal a modest amount to most of y’all, but is the most I’ve seen in a LONG time. NOT going overboard, but will be the first time, since I became disabled a decade ago, that we can buy everyone a modest gift and not have to stress just to buy the kids something. In the meantime, finally an HVAC replacement for our system that croaked 2.5 years ago, catch up the arrears, pay off debts, finish with the house repairs, a van, then sell up and get outta here.
I know that some don’t believe, but this is an answer to a lot of prayers. So, credit to the Father.
Two kids and their spouses. Six grandchildren and a spouse. One great-grandson. One sister, two nephews. Seven card club friends (small gifts). I LIKE Christmas. I LIKE giving gifts, especially if I can find just the right one. I LIKE watching people open their presents. I put money aside all year for Christmas.
Meh Humbug!

I’m looking forward to this year’s airing of grievances.

No clue. It’s September.
It’s not Christmas yet. Don’t scare me like that.
For those who have more than twenty and apparently are giving away gifts willy nilly, I’d like to sign up for your gift recipient list.
For those of you who want to give gifts to more than twenty people but need slots filled, in the spirit of community, I will happily volunteer.
2-3 usually. Keeping it to the immediate family and whoever I’m dating, saves a lot of money.
One, counting me.

@Lurker I hope you have the best Christmas ever. Seriously.
@sammydog01 Thank you, and the same to you!
That’s why I’m here - cheap stocking stuffers. ($5 quad copters - case in point).
How many people put 0 just to mess with the stats???
@sohmageek I didn’t, but I decided to do so just for you.
I think they meant Giftsmas.
