@mtb002 i don’t have any but i would be legit really happy if i were at someone else’s home and that is what my drink was served in. or if i just saw them in general.
@bfg9000 Not quite - the intent is that they hold more air, not more wine. Swirling the wine releases its aroma, allowing you to focus your nose in the nose.
The swirling also heats the wine more rapidly than does the white wine glass which have a somewhat narrower neck.
Pass. The Michaelangelo is by far the best “feel” (curve and weight in your hand) glassware Bormioli has ever produced. Especially the tall and short beverage glasses. If Meh ever gets this design, I’m in.
Just bought a dozen of each on Morningsave at the tail end of October for $12 per four. Kinda bummed I didn’t wait but since I wanted a bunch of spares I might yet pick up a couple more. Hopefully they’re not sold out before the ones I ordered arrive so I can check them out. Due in today!
@jbartus so I was mistaken a bit. I didn’t buy these exact glasses, I got the Bormioli Rocco wine glasses from the Restaurant line on Morningsave. That said, I have to say I’m very impressed. Mediocre seems to have done an impeccable job packing these as each box of four was double wrapped in bubble wrap (literally, wrapped twice, not just wound around the same direction twice) and then packed in cartons with enough Texas Air to fill an entire carton by itself. I am still opening the boxes to inspect (the bubble wrap is slowing things down) but so far between Mediocre’s packers’ efforts and the individual packing paper wrapping Bormioli Rocco did I’m in good shape. At the very least I didn’t hear any telltale tinkling sounds while hefting the boxes. Will report back when I have more to report.
@jbartus I may not be giving Mediocre’s packers enough credit even. Given the way the packing paper makes the boxes bulge I wonder if Mediocre’s packers did the paper wrapping. Care to weigh in @snapster or @dave?
@jbartus still interested in hearing who to thank for the excellent packing job but thought I’d share the results. I purchased:
12 Restaurant Red Wine Glasses
12 Restaurant White Wine Glasses
12 Ypsilon Cooler Glasses
And not a single one was broken based on a cursory inspection. I don’t want to fully unwrap these things (remove paper etc.) as I bought them for when I move into my own place in the near future but I took each out of the box and gave it a good squeeze test, also a flex test for the stemware to ensure the stems were intact, and not a single concern. Every. Single. Glass. Intact. Only issue is it took like an hour to free the boxes from their bubble wrap prisons but it’s well worth it!
Kudos to @snapster, @dave, and the rest of the Mediocre team!
for years i always went out and bought a box of wine glasses at target or ikea or whatever, thinking this was something you “had” to have. and then i never used them. eventually i didn’t even take them out of the box, and then i finally just stopped buying them.
we don’t drink wine. we don’t have people over. if we do, our friends drink liquor, or beer. 3-5 people, you can have a glass. we have hi ball, low ball, pint, some vintage dorothy thorpe stuff, or vintage pizza hut ET. more than that, we’re all using solo cups. i don’t have a dishwasher. plus, glass + drunks + cast iron sink = broken glass i have to clean up. this is standard for our group of friends anyway. i have one friend i can think of that drinks wine, but only at parties and we’re all using solo cups anyway. you’re more than welcome to bring your own glass to my house if you’re that worried about it.
now then. all that said, lemme buy those vintage muppet caper glasses. should’ve sold those.
I also dislike the stems on real wine glasses, as well as the top-heaviness of any drinking vessel like that. My favorite wine “glasses” are the stemless plastic ones from Walmart.
I kid you not I bought the Bormioli COOLER GLASSES on May 7th, 2015 and used the first glass yesterday, a rather sad Omen I paid 8 bucks for 6 glasses 16.25oz…There worth 2 bucks a piece not a dime more dammit…
For the record, wine “Italian Style” is properly served in an old jelly jar, and drunk while doing a passable reenactment of the wedding scene from The Godfather. Going by how my family does it, anyway.

Does this foretell the possibility of again seeing an offer of something to ~fill~ these glasses with?
Nice that they have a cut rim.
@rjquillin Candy corn of course.
@JT954 Hmmmm. Can you get candy corn to ferment?
@mehcuda67 Of course!

These look pretty much the same.
I bought a box of white and a box of red last time. They’re nice.
Will these be packed with proper dunnage?
@narfcake Mine were packed well, no breakage.
@narfcake you peoplz are sick, sick, sick.
I do not drink wine. I do not see the difference between the white and the red. What is it?
@bfg9000
er… nothing…that’s the point
@mcemanuel Oh I see it now. The reds are bigger. Hold more wine.

Wine Glasses are beyond Meh. its boring.
Awwwwwwww, I wanted the Riedels.
That’s my glass whine.
4 x Red, 4X White? All look white to me…LOL
Wine… glasses? You mean those bottles and boxes aren’t designed as a single serving?

Perhaps this home-stocking Xmas gift will give offspring a hint…
can’t all the different colored wines…just get along ?

Who put Irk in charge of something made of glass?
We drink Italian style since we drunkenly broke all the other nice glasses. It does help if you are Italian.

@jbartus SmartPost living up to their name as per usual.

Forget the wine glasses, WAS THAT AN IRK COSPLAYER?!
I have two wine glasses in a cabinet. I’ve never needed more than that. The people I invite to my house don’t normally drink wine.
I’ll take the Muppet tumblers please.
Can I drink my Diet Mountain Dew from these without scorn?
@Bumplepimp You can’t tell if it’s diet soda in a glass, regardless of shape.
MEH… Check your prices again on Amazon. Methinks you’re a little off.

What no baby arm having a toast?!?
Can you guys do some rocks glasses again? I broke all mine from the last time, they were pretty nice glasses.

Can’t pass them up; they match the set of 4 (whites) that were miraculously unbroken in my Sharp Things in a Box offer.
Thanks, but I have my wine holder already.
