Anyone out there like me that likes to launder dangerously? So what happens if you actually dry these in a heated dryer? They shrink…ruin elasticity…or both? Shrinkings fine…I can account for that, but ruined elastic not so much.
@dagirlgenius Bamboo Viscose sounds like they’re similar to “real” Rayon Hawaiian shirts, which get WEAK in heat, and shrink every damned time they’re heated. I had some shirts that fit baggy, and shrunk nearly 40% after a wash on delicate. The warnings for that material say they’ll shrink again, too. And a couple shirts that line-dried shrunk and are weirdly thin in spots for no apparent reason, other than the agitation in water wrecks the fibers.
@dagirlgenius my wife ran a couple in the dryer. They shrank maybe a half size smaller. They dry super fast so heated drying isn’t really necessary. If they’re by themselves, I’d try them in just air.
I bought this last time, I usually wear a XXL in Duluth. I order 4XL. They fit fine, but just in case I ordered another 9 pack in 5XL on Side Deal.
They’re freaking great underwear. I’ll probably order one more set so I have 3 weeks of underwear, you know, just in case.
@dagirlgenius I have other brands of bamboo underwear… bamboo shirts, bamboo socks, bamboo sheets (real ones- not the poly ones sold here).
I wash everything on cold anyway (unless have specific reason not to) and I dry normally.
I’ve not noticed any of my bamboo viscose products shrinking significantly… maybe its more to do with wash temperature than drying… dunno. Our dryer has a sensor that stops when doesn’t detect anymore moisture. (I set ours to stop on “dry” rather than “very dry” because if you dry clothes too long they wrinkle easier).
Stay clear of fabric softeners though. Fabric softners will damage any clothing… especially things with elastic waistbands.
@macdaddy1 even after the first wash? I was shocked they didn’t do that to me. I have a couple Duluth cotton free range boxer briefs and that’s exactly what they do to me.
Got these last time and they’re very nice and comfy. But herd the warnings to buy 2 sizes up unless you’re reeeeeeally trying to impress someone in the bedroom.
Any comments on how tight the leg openings are? Some of the athletic-style trunks I’ve bought (not this brand) can be quite tight on the thighs and over time become uncomfortable. I prefer slightly loose leg openings, not rubber bands around my thighs.
@pmarin They aren’t too tight at the leg openings but still manage to stay put and not ride up as much as some other brands I’ve worn. Just be sure to order 2 sizes up like it says.
@JvB@pmarin I actually didn’t notice that suggestion when I ordered, and got XL which is probably a little bigger than I would need, and they are pretty comfy. That said, now that I read the note, I would probably agree that 2XL would be perfection for myself (240lbs, 6’ tall, 35" waist), where I normally border on L-XL depending on the brand.
I bought these due to the community’s comments. They are really nice. I sized up one size, and that is fine for me. I am a 32 waist. I couldn’t bring myself to hit XL even with the advice. I have 14 pairs of these guys. Contemplating more.
@FirstLast87 Mine have not shrunk at all. I wash in cold then dry for a few minutes so that they’re still a little damp, then I hang them to dry. Buy two sizes up from your usual. They will be super comfortable.
Sorry not sorry- these just look uncomfortable. I don’t want my undies clinging to my skin over their entire surface- just a little at the waist and leg holes. And bamboo? Oh please…
But these are probably fine for 20-somethings.
@Kyeh@lisagd Hipster, the kind of brief that they knew we’d need if they managed to stick us with the low-rise jeans (and such). “No thanks” to both in my case.
OK, best butt covers I’ve ever had; I’m sold, thanks to Meh. Buying more now. I went on to discover their new brand, “Bamboo Breeze” on Amazon, got some t-shirts, equally cool, and stink-free after a long day or three (they need more colors). Happy birthday Irk!
Bought these when Meh sold them a month or so ago. Got one size up and the fit is still fine after a few washes. The “bamboo” material doesn’t seem to shrink at all, but I am seeing some minor fraying on the elastic waistbands (near the stitching). Probably a result of not following the recommended drying directions. I like the product, but I’m unsure of how long they will hold up to normal washing/drying. Something to consider, since I haven’t seen anyone else mention this.
@BikeBike this was what i was wondering, how long they hold up if you do wash/dry like normal clothes. Also, the “wash with like colors” but we are getting a variety of colors in the pack, lol.
Bought these last time and they are garbage! The waste folds over and they pill up after washing. Huge meh waste of time and money. Bring back underoos!
I agree with the buy two sizes up on the basis of I am a 27" waist and the small fits snugly, but not uncomfortably. Fabric feels great, I received some excellent solid colors, waistband seems durable.
Though I did order briefs and received a pair of trunks as part of fulfilling the order. Not the worst, but if that’s a dealbreaker if/when Meh brings this back, know it’s a risk.
Aww that was disappointing. Just got mine and got 2 that had a black bag with a pumpkin face on it, labeled as “eerie.” I thought “oh cool got some Halloween pumpkin face underwear!” Nope. Plain black.
I ordered two sizes up, as said, so I purchased XL. Several pairs were 4XL…guess they didn’t believe I already factored in the two sizes when I ordered.
These are the best underwear I’ve purchased yet. Super comfortable, and the anti chafing fabric panel is chefs kiss. Sizing up 2 sizes is accurate, I’m normally XL, the 3XL fit perfect. I’m about to throw out my briefs I tolerate and get a 9pack from side deal.

Why should I buy two sizes up? I’m a 31 waist and M fits just fine
Wait does this mean I have a small peepee?
@thechinglish Yeah I have 27" waist and 6XL usually fits okay after I cut off the elastic band.
Yes! I bought mediums and man, they fit like bike shorts. I look great in them, though.

TL;DR
Not brief enough.
/showme ergonomic stitching to handle your package with the utmost care
@mediocrebot surprised that one made it through prudebot’s guardrails
@awk @mediocrebot Geez, the bot can’t even get barcodes right!
@awk @mediocrebot I am trying to figure out what is going on with the hand in that photo
/showme a big beefy package
That’s about as close to right as the bot has ever managed.

@dagirlgenius I have a combination washer/dryer. So far, these briefs have been fine on a normal wash/dry cycle.

@OnionSoup Great info! TY!
40 percent more wicking? Compared to what? These leave me sweaty and itchy. No thank you. Back to cotton for me.

@tombroadcaster yep
@alose @tombroadcaster and if your partner isn’t impressed in the bedroom, just tell them to ‘imagine 2 sizes up’
Sounds crazy to order 3XL, but I’ll try anything at least once…

Do any of those words complement the other? Uh Oh, the marketing department must have got into the strong stuff.
@hchavers Well the Republic part is correct as these are probably from the People’s Republic of China.
@hchavers It’s true. Comfort Republic doesn’t have a monarchy, so it is a true republic. The Comfort King was overthrown in a military coup.

@pmarin not too tight, and they are very stretchy.

@KNmeh7 If you get more you won’t have to do laundry as often.
Small fit me great, but I’m not afraid of my Johnson.
I’m not sure on which size to get. Will it still shrink if I wash in cold and hang dry it?
@FirstLast87 Mine have not shrunk at all. I wash in cold then dry for a few minutes so that they’re still a little damp, then I hang them to dry. Buy two sizes up from your usual. They will be super comfortable.
@FirstLast87 @gregormehndel Mine did not, using that formula.
BAMBOO!!!
I laugh at all the peasants that still use swampy cotton!
@OnionSoup These are definitely great summer skivvies!
Sorry not sorry- these just look uncomfortable. I don’t want my undies clinging to my skin over their entire surface- just a little at the waist and leg holes. And bamboo? Oh please…

@MrNews I’m 66 they are cool and light and so comfortable. I threw out my other trunks.
If you like to absentmindedly fondle your balls, these are like having nothing on
@thechinglish So that’s a good thing, right?
@thechinglish sold!

I would consider buying again if only I had received the order I made over a month ago. Not sure I should risk it again…

Yay, more men’s underwear for us ladies to not buy!
@lisagd Morningsave has these:
@Kyeh @lisagd Hipster, the kind of brief that they knew we’d need if they managed to stick us with the low-rise jeans (and such). “No thanks” to both in my case.
@Kyeh @lisagd @werehatrack those seem like somewhere in the transition from thong to granny panties. The lace doesn’t seem to make it any better.
@Kyeh @werehatrack I like low-rise jeans only because I’m really short-waisted, so they sit closer to where regular jeans sit on regular people.

Whelp, looks like I just bought myself another week.
@yicadie12 Or depending on your habits, maybe 2 or 3 weeks?
I still have some underwear I bought years ago and the brand was “Change Daily” boldly printed on the waistband, as a reminder I guess…
@pmarin @yicadie12
“Change daily”
@Kyeh @pmarin @yicadie12
@MrNews @pmarin @yicadie12
/giphy obtuse-smiling-raven
I really like my current underwear, but they cost 7 times as much if you don’t count shipping. So I’m willing to give these a chance.
I can’t wait to find out these are still too tight and then send used underwear back to the manufacturer for a free one-size-up replacement.
/giphy giphy irate-undersized-genie
@steelopus a very appropriate order name given your comments!
…is that a genie in your undersized pants or…?
Do they come in 7xl?
Bought these last time and they are garbage! The waste folds over and they pill up after washing. Huge meh waste of time and money. Bring back underoos!
@mcemanuel
/image there’s no need to fear, underdog is here
If you’re supposed to buy two sizes up what are they going to do with the smalls?
Not my problem, I guess
/giphy festive-revered-tarantula
Very nice, keeps the swamp away. Order 2 sizes up!
Again with the CHEAP “expensive” regret!!
Feels a bit weird to buy XL in Men’s but I guess we’ll see!
/giphy enlightened-clear-swan

@Stormchaser I got orange in my pumpkin bags. Not sure if the purple pair was from a pumpkin bag or a plain bag…
I ordered two sizes up, as said, so I purchased XL. Several pairs were 4XL…guess they didn’t believe I already factored in the two sizes when I ordered.
So out of curiosity, has anyone without a penis tried these?

Thank you to everyone who recommended two sizes up. Buying my normal size would have been tragic.
