@chienfou@mlbrink@Tadlem43 A friend has a functioning vintage rotary phone in his house. He says it’s great fun watching younger folks try to figure it out.

that’s really cool. Can you still use it to dial out? We got rid of ours long ago when the phone company went from analog to digital dialing. You had to make a choice which you wanted to use and couldn’t keep both.
OTOH I did get to show one to the grandkids over Christmas when we toured an old house in the botanical gardens in Nashville. When you dialed it it connected you to a recording, but it was still impressive to the kids how the dial worked… Guess with us everything is a teachable moment!
@chienfou@mike808 I don’t think so but if you have a significant pool of single women in my area who are reasonable sane I might be willing to conduct a study. Introduction being s
“So mike808 says you suck at driving”
Also weight distribution is not as important on the ground. And that just proves they are real. I think?
@chienfou@mike808 yea area for lift but the mass would drag on one side. I mean we are assuming clock hands even have lift… It would stall in most positions an full on drop at 0000,0600,1200,1800
Uuuhhh…
Ohhhhh…
@blaineg the younger generation won’t get that. . .
@blaineg @mlbrink thank God for the header photo.
@blaineg @RiotDemon yeah—I’m not sure how/who chooses them.
@blaineg @mlbrink
Yeah, try to explain ‘clockwise’ to someone that only knows digital clocks…
@mlbrink it’s mediocrebot.
@blaineg @chienfou @mlbrink Or how to dial a phone. lol
@blaineg I thought it was 4:20
@blaineg @mlbrink
I don’t get it
@mlbrink @Star2236 Look at the header photo again. “Hands”…

Something like this.
@blaineg
I get, the “hands down” joke, but I don’t understand this comment.
@blaineg @DrWorm
I took it as:
Uuuhhhh (scratches head)
Ohhhh. (light bulb goes off)

And the robber walks in and says to the clock: …
@rockblossom I should be reading this at noon…
Reminds me. I need to wind my watch.
Is your clock running?
@blaineg Do you have Prince Albert in a can? lol
@blaineg @Tadlem43 asshole didn’t even use the plunger
When time flies, do its arms get tired?
@mike808 that’s not the issue it. It veers left or right cause one is longer than that other depending on the time frame.
0345, 0915, 1545, 2115 being the easiest examples
@mike808 unless of course we assume balanced mass. Either way it would even out over a long enough distance
@mike808 @unksol
mass is not as important to “flapping wings” as area would be in this case. but yes, the net result over 24 hours would be a straight-ish line.
@chienfou @unksol
Does that apply to humanoid bipeds with asymmetrical breasticles when driving?
Would that fly in court for improper lane usage? Asking for a friend.
