@docflash@Woody1 I think those candy coffee beans are different. From my experience I’d expect a lot more like the original 50mg for espresso as @docflash posted. I know for sure much less than you get from guzzling cups of bad free office-coffee like I used to do all day because you needed something to suck on during meetings…
Properly roasted espresso actually does not have that much caffeine per gram compared to cheap bulk stuff. And you wouldn’t normally be using 1 oz of espresso-grind coffee for a quality espresso anyway. My brother-in-law roasts beans every few days, and then grinds to order (his espresso setup takes up 1/3 of the kitchen!), then weighs each batch on scale and then monitors the extraction time and temperature and complains that he didn’t quite get it right for whatever reason (frustrated retired engineer…) I don’t know how many grams it is but pretty sure it’s less than 30g (1oz) for a portafilter load.
Huge waste of money even at .13 c each. Get your vitamins through food. Oh, and if you really need a caffeine jolt without a cup, get some caffeine tablets. Hell with Starbucks expensive nasty coffee.
This may be wonderful for some people, but a page on Cedar Sinai says…” People with tuberculosis, leukemia, diabetes, connective tissue disorders, multiple sclerosis, HIV or AIDS, any autoimmune diseases, or, possibly, liver disorders should not take echinacea. There is some concern that echinacea may reduce the effectiveness of medications that suppress the immune system.”
@5665150 Echinacea stimulates the production of white blood cells, which is probably at least part of why this is a concern. Also, it is not intended to be used like a daily vitamin. It can be super effective as a short term boost when you’re actually dealing with certain types of illness. I’m being very general because anyone interested should check the research before trying this out.
@ircon96 Only works for the left side of your digestive tract. You will have to balance it with a OAN-a-Day supplement. Warning: these should not be taken together as they can cause major upset in combination.
Only one gummy per day, and it only has 15mg caffeine? That’s just a drop in the bucket. Don’t see the point in adding one little drip when I can stick to the more traditional firehose
Ummmm… 15mg caffeine … and no other food labels shown? who buys a product like this without looking at the Nutritional food label? What a stupid thing to not show
@beegeepi All three nutrition labels are shown in the main page image scroll, in the fifth, eighth and eleventh photos. (Those are the backs of the packages.) Since these are Supplements rather than foods, the data provided is less extensive.
Nobody ever notices the chicory root/inulin (flavorless plant fiber) added to all these health foods, “fiber-rich” snacks, and supplements. We used to run the “Fiber One” snack bar challenge at an old job where there was a lot of noisy equipment running all the time. After eating Fiber One granola bars, the first person to manifest explosive gas that could be heard over the vacuum pumps won. It only took me 50 min on average.
Chicory root, aka inulin, is a common additive because it boosts the fiber content without substantially altering the taste or texture. For me personally, it always blows up my intestinal tract like a balloon animal. I now try to avoid a food item if I see added chicory or inulin.
Yup, those loud roots blowers really degraded my hearing over time, which is ironic because the first search hit I see describes them this way: “Roots blowers are found wherever there is a need to move air and gas.”
I don’t get the trend towards putting medications/nutritional supplements in gummies. If it’s not just for taste, I don’t want to have something I have to chew on for a while when I could swallow it in a second in a normal capsule or pill. Gummies should just be yummy.
@thechinglish Since at least early 2022, non-Mehrathon items have remained available for 24 hours (or longer) past their sale day unless they sell out.

Wow, fucking sesame haters
I’m no authority on herpetological oleates, but I know what these look like to me. Pass.
@werehatrack I prefer the gen-you-wine article. It says so right there on the label.
I wonder how much chaos these will cause upon exiting.
@yakkoTDI I’d say about half a Delta.
@werehatrack You’re sh*ting me.
@rcwbbb @werehatrack no, that was yesterday
Oh hell no.
@radi0j0hn
/image hell no meme
each energy gummy has 15mg of caffeine. a 12oz coffee has ~120mg. a double espresso, ~50.
but these are easier to carry around all day for when you NEED THEM!
JADP.
@docflash double espresso 50mg? Try 150
@docflash COFFEE BEANS (dark chocolate coated) 1 serving (1oz, 28 beans) 336mg caffeine

Why? B’KOS!
@hchavers No. B’gosh.
Huge waste of money even at .13 c each. Get your vitamins through food. Oh, and if you really need a caffeine jolt without a cup, get some caffeine tablets. Hell with Starbucks expensive nasty coffee.
@MarkML when you factor in the dopamine release people get from “doing a healthy thing!” I think these are well worth 13 cents each
@MarkML Surely you meant $.13, or 13c each.
@MarkML @richrauch Oh no! Verizon Vcents strikes again!!
Caution
The immunity gummies contain echinacea.

I’m excited to try the other flavors

@Penina I agree.
Daily KOS…?

@rockblossom OAN-a-Day!

@beegeepi All three nutrition labels are shown in the main page image scroll, in the fifth, eighth and eleventh photos. (Those are the backs of the packages.) Since these are Supplements rather than foods, the data provided is less extensive.
These aren’t the gummies you’re looking for. Move Along!

@Gilliat I always notice the chicory root for the same reason you mentioned. It’s not a pleasant experience.
@Gilliat Sounds like you guys at JPL knew how to have a good time!
Yup, those loud roots blowers really degraded my hearing over time, which is ironic because the first search hit I see describes them this way: “Roots blowers are found wherever there is a need to move air and gas.”
Telling me what vitamins are in these is utterly useless unless you tell me how much in IU
M.E.H = medical exuded hooey

i didn’t see the thc or cbd content in the specs?
/giphy “are you serious?”
/youtube “andrew bird are you serious?”
/image wtf
Why are these still available to purchase?
@thechinglish Since at least early 2022, non-Mehrathon items have remained available for 24 hours (or longer) past their sale day unless they sell out.
@thechinglish @werehatrack wtf?
i feel like i’ve missed a few more memos?
since, maybe, 2016, what’s changed?
that really feels like it takes away the impulse buy “i’ve gotta do this now (even if it might be stupid), because fomo.”
