- @fastharry, those type of covers generally provide exceptionally poor protection. My iPad cover has saved my ass too many times, but no stand. And if it did have a stand, would be quite bulky then.
  
  Stands like these are not ideal or all that convenient, but work much better for those of us who have strong, protective covers.

  I bought a SUPCase for both iPads they’re tough rugged cases with a built in kickstand only $24 but just like Case/Stands it only works for landscape

Well, after reading the reviews on Amazon, another hard pass…Apparently, this is Gen 2…with only 1 position…the original Smart Stand had 2 positions for folding tablets…And this one has no rubber on bottom to prevent sliding…

why isn’t everyone doing that nowadays? I can’t even see to plug a little wire in anymore. They spoiled me so much, it’s still been a year since I’ve bought a phone.
really, why not more inductive charging?

I’d go with these which have an angle adjustment. The shipping will take longer but they’re cheaper and make more sense. (One example linked - there are many others on ebay just like it.)
