Maple Bacon ingredients: Uncured bacon, pork, water, salt, turbinado sugar, celery powder, lactic acid start culture (not from milk), brown sugar, maple syrup, honey, water
You know what meh, I almost bought this. As I saw it I thought if they have Carolina Reaper jerky I will buy 10 of them. Sure enough I am disappointed and without a t shirt. Please sell me the clothes off your back now.
So enjoy your jerky, all 24 hours of it, because when the clock strikes midnight and the sale resets, returning things to normalcy, you’ll see just how firm in our convictions we are!
And then so later you sell the remaining unsold and stale jerky along with bricked candy corn in a sleet storm bundle?
I asked for it, you delivered, and made me a write-up star! I am honor bound to buy. Give me a moment to consider my flavor options and I shall fulfill my obligation.
@djslack Very true! I know the feeling when they finally sold the toothbrushes I was torn about whether or not to buy it. However, to quote the Joker, “I’m a man of my word.”
Jalapeno and mesquite on the way. I know that I love peppered jerky so this was a hard choice, but I decided to seek adventure rather than comfort; or maybe it was sweetness over more spice.
Thanks Meh! I mean, I know you were gonna sell it anyway.
HAH!!! 8 oz of beef jerky for $23 shipped. I hope @djslack has deep pockets or the doggos around the meh offices are going to be enjoying a lot of expired meat
@Superllama7 Wow, 150 sold in 15 minutes. Either I’m going to eat my pathetically flavorless words, or there are going to be a lot of people disappointed in what 2 oz of meat looks like
@Superllama7 Meh, $40 bucks shipped will still buy 2lbs of some really high end stuff and you can mix flavors. I think this experiment is a bust but people do like to jerky and impulse buys so who knows.
@mike808 I haven’t tried this jerky so I can’t say from personal experience that it’s “worth it,” and I like Costco and all (just spent $250 there today! – not on Jerky though.) But the argument is that I can buy a large bag of “pretty OK product” or spend more and get a small amount of “supposedly hopefully artisan great product” for a higher price.
Same reason people go to $50/person restaurants (I guess even that is cheap these days, especially when you toss in the $80 wine) when there is a Golden Corral or Old Country Buffet nearby with all-you-can-eat for $12.
I do like supporting small-batch “artisan” products (overused word these days – when I saw Budweiser make an “artisan” beer – that’s pretty much the end for coolness of that word). There has been a trend among big companies to say “put it in a small bag with a nice label and charge twice as much” and it seems to work.
If thIs was a mixed pack, I’d be all over it. I prefer lawless.anyone know how the tenderization and spice blooming is vs them? (I love how supple lawless is,I hate how under bloomed their spice blends are.)
@Jamileigh17 the first thing I looked for was a variety pack option. Buying something you’re unsure about in bulk is a way harder sell than a variety pack of something you might find awesome at the same price. But you can’t win 'em all and this probably saves the warehouse staff some sanity.
I just did an Amazon subscribe and save for 8 packs of bacon jerky for $5. Fairly certain it is an error and they will send one pack. Then I will bitch and they will refund my money. Zero dollars per pound jerky! Score!
@nolrak@sammydog01 Received yesterday and much to my surprise, it was an 8 pack of jerky. That has to be the best deal I have picked up in some time. Although, still more expensive than a free pack would have been.
Of course it can, be considered a breakfast. It contains two of the classic breakfast items, maple and bacon. Tell your friend, he or she, is good to go. Why I might even by some for my “friend”
So what they aren’t selling are used condoms?
Pocket rockets? Radiation poisoning? I just don’t know.
I suspect it is in fact radiation poisoning though because that seems mighty interesting
Definition of a “Good Deal” in the retail sales world is where the seller AND the buyer are happy…
and judging by the dollar amounts and numbers from a year ago…someone is not understanding that. MEH…with a hard pass. Even Walgreens discounts more than 35%…
I remember the nights i used to stay up for the reveal. I also remember many nights in a row when the deals were so good they were paused mulitple times per day. …seems like a long time ago
I had rouen y gastric bypass (weight loss ) surgery 11 yrs ago. I have tried Many different jerkies dislike all except OLD WISCONSIN Turkey Bites. 1 oz only 80 calories. Less than 1 carb. 7g Protein. 300 mg sodium. They r mild not hot. Taste delicious. And a 4 oz bag (113 g) Only costs $2.94 at Walmart.
The MSRP shown in comparison is actually a coupon price. The site shows $29.96 for the 4 packs, $26.96 with subscribe and save. The $23.96 would be a 4 pack plus using the 20% off code they’ll give you for your email address. So this price is 40% off of MSRP, for the percentage hunters out there. 25% off of coupon price. And 16.5% off of coupon plus subscribe and save.
I Googled this jerky to see if I could find any reviews or anyone else selling it. What I discovered is that they’ve been doing some serious blog marketing. Lots of presumably paid puff pieces (and YouTube videos, but that lacks alliteration).
@phendrick I give it away free… but only to persons living in my house, which includes me and my wife. Visitors can have a small taste; more, if they wash the dishes or paint the picket fence.
@speediedelivery likely not, only because our warehouse isn’t meant to store food so this was a buy-what-we-sell kind of thing. Though if the positive reviews keep rollin’ in, it might be on meh again!
@troy I got to try the bbq and it was excellent. I have only tried one bacon of a different brand but didn’t care for it. If the bacon has the flavor tone of the bbq, I bet it is fantastic.
When I talked to my wife the other night while I was out of town, she said she got a bunch of packages and was opening them up when she realized she didn’t remember ordering a ton of beef jerky.
When I got home tonight I checked them out. She took a bag of jalapeno to take to work, and I opened one. I thought it was really good and the beef is nice and tender. She thought it was too hot so she put the bag back and took a bag of mesquite bbq instead. I cracked one of those and tried it, and it’s as good as the jalapeno and nice and smoky. They both way outclass what you can get at retail from anywhere that’s not a jerky specialist (Buc-ee’s included).
My wife said that Meh should pay me a commission for suggesting it. I told her I’d only take it in beef jerky like that old bubble tape commercial.
If they come out with a Sriracha beef, get that one in on the next offer. Bacon jerky’s not my thing but I am down for some Sriracha.

I love both maple and bacon but the jerky has just a hint of maple and tasteless dry bacon. I did not order the volcanic jalapeno.
I would be willing to trade peppered beef, sriracha or maple bacon for a volcano jalapeno to try or the bbq.

The jerk store called and said they were out of Meh.
@norman8 oh yeah? Well you’re their all time best seller!
@norman8 You got any bear claws?
Jerky - meh oh meh — Meh must have said let’s “meat” up !
@AttyVette whoa whoa whoa let’s keep it clean
Only eight ounces of jerky total? Meh, I’ll sleep on it.
@lljk It looks like it is 11 ounces, but still way over priced considering it is in meh
@ConAndLibrarian @lljk looks like the beef is 11oz and the bacon is 8oz. You’re both right.
@ConAndLibrarian @djslack @lljk
/image why not both
@PHRoG Now look what has happened ~ @PHRoG has a sad! SHAME on you MEH!
@surfeit 'tis okay. They probably made an executive decision to do it today instead.
Meh-Shirt-Saturday has a much better ring to it!!
Thiiiiiis one plzkthxbai:
You know what meh, I almost bought this. As I saw it I thought if they have Carolina Reaper jerky I will buy 10 of them. Sure enough I am disappointed and without a t shirt. Please sell me the clothes off your back now.
@reclaimercube if you buy enough of them you could make some sort of shirt from the bags
@nolrak That’d be a real jerk move though.
@reclaimercube
@nolrak @reclaimercube Or make a meat shirt
/image meat shirt
And then so later you sell the remaining unsold and stale jerky along with bricked candy corn in a sleet storm bundle?
I asked for it, you delivered, and made me a write-up star! I am honor bound to buy. Give me a moment to consider my flavor options and I shall fulfill my obligation.
@djslack I think you’re obligated to buy one set of each flavor
@djslack Very true! I know the feeling when they finally sold the toothbrushes I was torn about whether or not to buy it. However, to quote the Joker, “I’m a man of my word.”
@nolrak if it weren’t as pricy I might buy the board, but that would be a lot of jerky!
I’ve never really been taken with bacon jerky, so it’s between mesquite bbq and peppered jerky (I’m for sure getting the jalapeno).
/giphy absurd-vengeful-powder
Jalapeno and mesquite on the way. I know that I love peppered jerky so this was a hard choice, but I decided to seek adventure rather than comfort; or maybe it was sweetness over more spice.
Thanks Meh! I mean, I know you were gonna sell it anyway.
@djslack that is the worst giphy I’ve ever seen
/giphy ewe
I’m holding out for normalcy. Normalcy on Sunday! And then… October. The future is… Normalcy. I’m taking your word for this, Meh!
@aetris You might need meh to define “normalcy”.
@Kidsandliz - Meh, you’re right - knives and speaker docks?
@nolrak
Guess I’m more of a slim jim from the gas station lady. Meh.
/giphy classy lady
$18 for 1/2 lb of jerky is quite meh.
@jayman007 probably the least “deal” Meh has ever had. They’ve really been slipping the last couple years.
@jayman007 have you priced good jerky at the grocery store lately? It’s gotten crazy expensive.
@TimW We just paid $9 for 14oz at Costco. That is 1/2 the price for nearly double the amount.
Grocery stores have bigger discount sales than this. You’ve really gotten a lot worse over the last few years, Meh.
@ColeSloth your implication meh was once much better is offensive. it’s always been mediocre.
/giphy unknowing-melancholy-feast
I know a guy who paid $130,000 for some premium jerky.
@wew yes, it was the Meh buyer that loaded up for today’s sale
@wew your dad?
@wew Took me a second… LMAO!
@mehcuda67 @wew I still don’t get it… Oh, wait, … yeah. I got it. LOL.
American Dreamz (dreamz, with a z)
HAH!!! 8 oz of beef jerky for $23 shipped. I hope @djslack has deep pockets or the doggos around the meh offices are going to be enjoying a lot of expired meat
@Superllama7 If I ever start a band, I’m calling it Expired Meat
@Superllama7 Wow, 150 sold in 15 minutes. Either I’m going to eat my pathetically flavorless words, or there are going to be a lot of people disappointed in what 2 oz of meat looks like
@Superllama7
This sounds like a profoundly personal problem right here
@nolrak
@nolrak I wish I had more than one star to give
Wow… I buy small batch, fancy jerky and that is crazy expensive. $36 a pound will buy a pretty nice steak.
@cblack to be fair, jerky probably weighs half as much as the meat it was made from. But this is still expensive dried meat
@cblack @Superllama7 it has to cost more, that beef didn’t dehydrate itself!
@Superllama7 Meh, $40 bucks shipped will still buy 2lbs of some really high end stuff and you can mix flavors. I think this experiment is a bust but people do like to jerky and impulse buys so who knows.
@cblack What do you recommend?
Hard pass. For $36 per pound, it’s not twice as good as any of the everyday jerky at Costco.
@mike808 this doesn’t negate your point, but the beef choices are $26.18/lb. Bacon is $36/lb.

The beef is a considerably better deal than the bacon if you consider the cost to mass ratio
@nolrak now only if the can figure out how to get a swallow to deliver it?
@nolrak Velveeta is a considerably better deal than Parmigiano-Reggiano if you consider the cost to mass ratio.
@Grumman @nolrak
Depends on if youre talking about a European or an African swallow.
Are you taking a page from Woot Gourmet? Crappy overpriced food nobody wants? Meh indeed!
@gatesboy23 That wOOt Gourmet site annoys me every time I hover over it’s offering. Expensive sampler packs galore!
I’m reading the writeup and all I can imagine is “i-it’s not like we are doing this because we heard you or anything”
/giphy tsundere
If thIs was a mixed pack, I’d be all over it. I prefer lawless.anyone know how the tenderization and spice blooming is vs them? (I love how supple lawless is,I hate how under bloomed their spice blends are.)
@Jamileigh17 this is a jerky connoisseur right here
@Jamileigh17 @nolrak basic girl here i know jack links…LOL
/giphy basic bitch
@Jamileigh17 the first thing I looked for was a variety pack option. Buying something you’re unsure about in bulk is a way harder sell than a variety pack of something you might find awesome at the same price. But you can’t win 'em all and this probably saves the warehouse staff some sanity.
@djslack Well, the site’s not named “warehouse staff sanity” is it?
@blaineg @djslack There is definitely truth in what you say, and by “in” I mean pasting “in” before “sanity.”
Can a bag of maple bacon jerky be considered an on-the-go breakfast? (Errrr, asking for a friend.)
@nolrak anything can be an on-the-go breakfast if you put your mind to it. you’re an adult.
/image shrug
@heartbleed anything? challenge accepted!
Anyone have a spare Volkswagen that needs eating?
@heartbleed @nolrak
I just did an Amazon subscribe and save for 8 packs of bacon jerky for $5. Fairly certain it is an error and they will send one pack. Then I will bitch and they will refund my money. Zero dollars per pound jerky! Score!
@ponagathos I am utterly failing at locating this deal at the Bezos emporium
@nolrak https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GN0635M/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Should have mentioned it is Slim Jim jerky, currently unavailable.
@nolrak @ponagathos Currently unavailable. Let us know how it goes?
@nolrak @sammydog01 Received yesterday and much to my surprise, it was an 8 pack of jerky. That has to be the best deal I have picked up in some time. Although, still more expensive than a free pack would have been.
Nitrite free?
@yankees177 the ingredients are right at the top… No nitrate and the bacon is uncured
Of course it can, be considered a breakfast. It contains two of the classic breakfast items, maple and bacon. Tell your friend, he or she, is good to go. Why I might even by some for my “friend”
I’m really just here for the immature meat jokes, people
Does this work with iPhones?
Funyuns.
Red Vines.
And so, I say, “Meh” to all of you who ragged on me yesterday about the crappy flashlights! Hah!
So what they aren’t selling are used condoms?
Pocket rockets? Radiation poisoning? I just don’t know.
I suspect it is in fact radiation poisoning though because that seems mighty interesting
@sippinndippin can I have whatever it is you’re sippin’ on? It sounds terribly fun!
The Jerk you say. What a wild and crazy guy!
I know one of them has gluten-free tamari as an ingredient, but are these actually gluten free?
At least it’s not used jerky!
@MrFred the proper term is “refurbished”
Definition of a “Good Deal” in the retail sales world is where the seller AND the buyer are happy…
and judging by the dollar amounts and numbers from a year ago…someone is not understanding that. MEH…with a hard pass. Even Walgreens discounts more than 35%…
@fastharry Yeah but Walgreens marks things up 40%.

Bring on the lawn darts.
All I gotta say is you guys should be selling thermal underwear. Siracha flavored.
This jerky is too premium for me. I’ll stick to the cheap stuff.
I remember the nights i used to stay up for the reveal. I also remember many nights in a row when the deals were so good they were paused mulitple times per day. …seems like a long time ago
@SoftAsFur the deal today paused 51 minutes in, and may pause again.
Less than 3oz for 6 bucks no way!
I think they misjudged the audience going premium here
wassup haters! Splitting this pack (& price) with a coworker to hedge the bet. Maybe i’m a mini-hater?

‘meh’ say I, my preferred premium jerky source has more flavors for cheaper
I’m having a lot of apathy at the moment. Almost enough to not make now normal post…
Meh shirts?
Calling it now: t-shirts tomorrow.
Pretty terrible meh we have here. I wonder if we have our next candy corn contender.
I Googled this jerky to see if I could find any reviews or anyone else selling it. What I discovered is that they’ve been doing some serious blog marketing. Lots of presumably paid puff pieces (and YouTube videos, but that lacks alliteration).
@craigthom watched any politics lately? (i.e. same thing)
@pmarin You’ve posted 5 times already in this thread. Are you a member of the jerky lobby?
I’ve analyzed the write-up and have come to only one conclusion: they’re going to sell shirts tomorrow.
@PooltoyWolf
/giphy winner winner chicken dinner
Psycho expensive- works out to $46 A POUND… I make my own jerky, which, all costs considered, costs me about $8 a pound!!!
@MrNews How much do you sell a pound for? I have VMP, so you can’t charge me shipping.
@phendrick I give it away free… but only to persons living in my house, which includes me and my wife. Visitors can have a small taste; more, if they wash the dishes or paint the picket fence.
@MrNews @phendrick well that sounds like an invitation to move in with you. I’ll start packing tomorrow.
Just received my shipment. This jerkey is a-meh-zing!!! Thank you!
Just received an email saying they ran out before my order shipped. refunded, but still.
@jreppart Maybe @troy can send you some sriracha bacon?
Congrats to all who bought Sriracha Bacon – that’s easily the best flavor and it happened to be the one we didn’t sell out of!
@troy Any chance it might get found on Morningsave? I regret not buying
@troy Confirmed. Candy corn is NOT food.
Got my jerky and am very happy - got the Mesquite BBQ and Volcanic Jalapeno - can confirm the “Volcanic” Jalapeno name is accurate.
Yup pretty good. Just got the siracha and maple bacon, and the pepper beef.
Got the sriracha. Alright. Not one to write home about though. Better than store bought.
Got the Original Peppered beef jerky today. Very much yum!
got the pepper and the BBQ. BBQ is my favorite, but the pepper is quite tasty as well.
I prefer cured jerky (this is kind of like eating lightly cooked bacon LOL) It’s quite messy to eat as well. I took it to work and it’s not great for working on the computer and snacking. FYI TMI Saracha burns on the way out too!
My favorite is the bbq. The sriracha bacon is good flavor but wish it was on the same beef as the bbq. Peppered beef is good but drier than I prefer. Don’t care for the maple bacon at all. I love both maple and bacon but the jerky has just a hint of maple and tasteless dry bacon. I did not order the volcanic jalapeno.
I would be willing to trade peppered beef, sriracha or maple bacon for a volcano jalapeno to try or the bbq.
