I got a box of these over the summer, too, and I’ve only used one. There have been three incidents in which the alarm went off for no reason at all. Fun!
We are pulling this product due to several problems that have been reported. Light was too bright for a night light. Sensor did not work until very close to unit. Unit died within 60 days of use. Difficult to understand instructions.
Was a very good idea but not very well engineered. Do not know of another device with… see more

I actually mostly like these. The alarm repeater function doesn’t. But we had a multi hour power failure one evening about a week after we got these, and they did yeoman’s duty. My wife commented that she wasn’t going to make fun of the dumb crap that I buy from meh anymore.
I seem to be in the minority of those who like these. Just nighty my 3rd set of 4 lol. I had 4 charging in all the outlets in the kitchen and they were set to motion detection and my wife commented how she likes them better than the expensive under-cabinet lights that rarely work the way they are supposed to… So they started there lol. Second set went to more strategic spots around the house and garage. I’ve only used them in the motion detection mode so maybe that’s why they are not as annoying as others feel. And the little flood lights were awesome when we had the power off for an hour… Just handed one each to the kids and used the others to work with.
I liked my first set of four well enough to get another set of four this time around. When used as a nightlight, you need to set the brightness down until it doesn’t cycle on and off seeing it’s own light. If you want it near full brightness, it won’t work, but I’m satisfied with the level of light I get with no cycling. And yes, they don’t do the alarm repeater function, no, they don’t have a CO detection function (or smoke detection, or explosive gas detection).
I unboxed this set of four and charged them up. One charged in about 15 minutes, two charged in about an hour, and the last has been charging for about 12 hours and still flashes the top side LEDs red when I move the switch from OFF to any other position. So I guess that’s one bad battery out of eight, which is a bit better than “meh”.
I have clipped the blue wire running from the right side of the main board to the beeper, since these devices have gone into “alarm” mode in the wee hours of the night when there is no alarm condition. I’ll rely on my standard smoke detectors and CO detectors, thanks.
They make a clicking noise when I plug them in at first. Not a good start. One seems good in the garage. The other one won’t quit flashing on and off. And they are bright. I can see why Amazon withdrew them.
@cfg83 just slide the switch up and down a bit, you are hearing the speaker power up. also you can set the light level, hold the button down and it should cycle brigher and dimmer
@thismyusername Ok, thanks. I found out that I needed to leave it in the “off” position to get it charged up. Now that it has a charge the speaker is quiet. It definitely looks like a winner in a power outage. That’s why I got it.
@cfg83 yea I am happy with them for the price, be aware of this: my fire alarms did their auto test the other day and all of these little buggers were screaming (as designed) until I ran around a pressed the button on em all

@aetris Meh writer is definitely on a roll!
I got a box of these over the summer; they came in handy right after the Hurricane hit.

Beware!
I have these. I hate them.
Awesome I can always find a flashlight when I need it
Bought these for use as nightlights. They’re awful. Light sensor is dumb and finicky, likes to blink on and off even with adjustment. Avoid!

Are they CO detectors?

@thismyusername Hrmmm, ok. I installed one at my Dad’s house. Better make sure it’s in the “off” position to make his life easier.
@cfg83 in the off position it does nothing but charge the battery… so… um… anyway if he is hard of hearing it could save a life!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
