Um, the men’s and women’s size specs are identical to each other, so I guess Men’s “Modern” = Women’s “Loose,” and that’s the only style? Why not just call them unisex? I actually wanted these until I realized the women’s small is really a men’s small is really a boxy women’s medium.
@duodec They never have talls. It’s even worse in actual women’s clothing, where the sleeves on the “regular” ones are always sized for someone 5’3" tall or less.
Upper Peninsula of Michigan, aka where the Yoopers live: wear it as a t-shirt during the winter (Sept - May), a base layer during spring (June) and Fall (August) and evening wear in the summer (July)
I would suspect much of the same information applies to this version. In that thread someone said walmart sells that version (well at least last year) so that might help with people figuring out the unisex fit (noted here and noted in that thread too).
PS Don’t see them on the walmart website - of course I could have missed it since I was looking for in store and the stores around here are smaller.
This was on our old home and current Amazon shill site (oops. I meant MotherShip step-child) recently. Branded Blue Ice as opposed to Blu Roc. Comments there do not add to the topics of quality, but there’s one description about the fit. https://sport.woot.com/offers/3pk-mens-fleece-lined-full-zip-hoodie
@irenegade Thanks for finding that, however “modern fit design” is ambiguous. In the discussion on woot someone said, ““Modern-fit” falls between classic fit and slim fit.”. Also several people said the both the men’s and woman’s zippers zipped on the left and several someones said they run small but I couldn’t tell if they had bought woman’s or men’s (although these appear to be “unisex”)… so it sounds to me like sizing is a crap shoot.
Mine arrived today. I am 5 foot, 10½" tall and medium sized shirts and hoodies usually fit just right. I will say that these are a little snug, especially in the arms. They are quite comfy though. Also the zipper thing mentioned by @Kidsandliz above is also accurate, the zippers are on the left for some reason even though I ordered the “men’s” version.
@chesng Check with meh.com/support for assistance. The zipper issue is a known “feature” that has been remarked upon, so I don’t know why it’s not mentioned in the specs…
For $8 a piece I’m not complaining. Quality is very good. They are comfortable and warm for intended use. Sizing is slightly small for a male size description. The burgundy one had the label and the tag stated color navy. Thankfully the packer went by actual color. Still available for about the same price at woot and maybe elsewhere (amazon?).
Anyone else having problems with getting the wrong stuff lately? Is it now official policy to make substitutions?
Not worth making a big deal out of it, but multiple recent orders I received were not right and I’m starting to think it is a risk I may not want to take in future.
Hoodies: size match but not the colors I ordered
Fruit “jerky”: random selection instead of my order
Gummies: 2 ACV instead of 2 energy
etc
Got mine and boy do they run small. Thought they might so I ordered 2XL rather than the XL that I normally order and the 2XL are very snug. Don’t think they will fit after they are washed.
Does anyone else have a chemical smell to them even after washing? I’ve washed mine twice (cold/cold & warm/cold) and it still has a noticeable smell to it.
@Donaldbain Something similar to the old dry cleaning solvents? Mine had that (if these are the same, which appears likely) and I had to run them through the dryer several times to drive it all out. (My dryer does not have a Cremate setting, so I can do that.)
@camilleberg Check SideDeal and Morningsave; it’s possible that these might be listed on one of those sites. Over here on Meh, once the posted item closes, it’s not available unless it gets another run as the item of the day.
Oh, and these ones we have on Meh today are 20% more cotton (so 60/40 instead of 80/20). Normally they cost a bit more but our savvy buyers got 'em stay the same price so pick up a few and enjoy the extra cotton!
@dave
Actually, 100% more cotton in these.
E.g., if the item weighs 20 ounces, then the old 80/20 one would contain 16 oz polyester, 4 oz cotton. But the new 60/40 one would have 12 oz polyester, 8 oz cotton. You generally should compare percentages by ratios, not subtractions.
[Can I get a job at mercatalyst proofreading/fact checking (especially the meh math)?
Or would the pay also be way too meh?]
@phendrick If you’re willing to become a contractor who gets paid in TrackRs, expired snacks, car charger plugs, and Casery stuff, I’m sure something could be worked out.
@dave@phendrick Here is how relative percent can be/is deceiving.
Let’s say you have cancer and are told if you take a drug (with really nasty side effects) it cuts your chance of recurrence in half (by 50% so this is a relative percent difference) That sounds pretty good. Doesn’t it? Maybe I should take it despite the side effects.
But looks can be deceiving with relative percent (which is what you, Dave, were using).
If your absolute chance of recurrence is 30% then taking a drug to cut your chances of recurrence in half (so a relative drop of 50% recurrence) means you now have an (absolute) 15% chance (eg 30*.50=15 or 30/2-15) of the cancer recurring - meaning the drop in the chance of recurrence is an absolute percent of 15%. Still sounds pretty good although not as good as cutting my chances in half (eg 50% relative cut). Maybe I should still take the drug.
BUT if your absolute chance of recurrence is 4% and you take this drug and it drops your relative chance of recurrence by 50% however that only means you go from a 4% absolute chance to a 2% absolute chance of recurrence. Suddenly taking that drug for an absolute 2% better chance of no recurrence doesn’t sound so good and you might figure for a 2% chance in reduction it is not worth taking the nasty side effect drug.
In EITHER CASE it is a relative reduction in risk of 50%. But the absolute percent reduction is 15% or 2% depending on where you start.
Typically marketers, medical researchers, etc. talk about relative change as it appears/sounds better than absolute improvements (often they reverse the use of relative or absolute percent usage it if they are talking about negative stuff as it sounds better then that way). Personally I want to know the absolute differences.
@mediocrebot Um, nope. But someone in marketing would probably like that. And probably the psychologists and philosophers, especially if it were in color.
Guessing that the faceless people are the students, as seen by their profs.

Are you trying to fleece us out of our money?
I call BS on 2XL sold out less than a minute after midnight.
@shawnmilo 2XL is available
woodland 2XL sold out 5 mins later? did you guys have 2 of them or something?
that’s the only size/colorway i’d have bought.
@elpepe You might have to settle for Black/Charcoal/Olive
Um, the men’s and women’s size specs are identical to each other, so I guess Men’s “Modern” = Women’s “Loose,” and that’s the only style? Why not just call them unisex? I actually wanted these until I realized the women’s small is really a men’s small is really a boxy women’s medium.
@fondaporn The model is 5’9 and wearing a size small, if that helps
@troy Yeah, I’m a small female, so that would swallow me up. Seems weird to call the same size both a men’s and ladies’ small.
With regards to the write-up, Southern California girl it’s a hell of a lot hotter than Hawaii
This is the best writeup i’ve read in a while!
Floridians need not apply.
@PooltoyWolf Yeah the zippers would confuse them.
@mcanavino Though, you’re speaking to a Floridian who wears a fursuit, which definitely has a zipper!
@PooltoyWolf Your wolf side is fine, it’s the Florida Person that gets their head stuck in the arm hole.
@mcanavino Considering I’m an inflatable wolf, yeah! If I actually had fur, I’m pretty sure I’d die of heat stroke.
No talls…
@duodec They never have talls. It’s even worse in actual women’s clothing, where the sleeves on the “regular” ones are always sized for someone 5’3" tall or less.
Is it just me or are those drawstrings crazy long?
I don’t need fleece. I have my own natural fur.
Hawaii might be 90 degrees at sea level but still be snowing if you go to the top of the volcanoes.
@raive So I guess buy the fleece hoodie and stash it at the top of a volcano?
@SSteve Exactly
I think these things have Canadian prairies written all over them.
No navy blue hoodies? That’s as bad as not having purple T-shirts.
Considered buying the until I saw: 80% Polyester, 20% Cotton. No polyester for me. 100% cotton would be warmer.
@mehmef i would have jumped on this if the numbers were switched between the two. A little poly helps with wear and pilling.
80% polyester. So it only mostly feels like you’re wearing a plastic trash bag.

@nicksaw62
No reviews on Amazon so no opinions about the fit. Anyone find any? I think I saw these on the other sites so will search.
2 for $29.99 on Sidedeal but no reviews.
So in trying to find out more about them I found where meh sold another version of these last year

I could use a few spare hoodies. In for a set. Got a really appropriate order number:

Echo that the “men’s” zippers are on the left.
Same thing happened with a battery-heated coat last year: zipper on the left in a men’s coat? Not a deal breaker but very odd.
Received packed with the sidedeal joggers and missing the heather version from my order.
@airjer meh.com/support is your next stop.
Very nice set of hoodies for me and my wife
Received mine today. I ordered male XL, and the dang zippers on the wrong side . They’re too snug to be XL. What’s the return policy?

I was impressed with the thickness ,quality and warmth and the price rorschach three were amazing. Would have brought more if there were more colors

Yes small, way to small for a 2xl, how do i go about returning?
@jimboc1963 It starts with heading over to meh.com/support to let them know you have a problem.
Can I order these again???
@camilleberg Check SideDeal and Morningsave; it’s possible that these might be listed on one of those sites. Over here on Meh, once the posted item closes, it’s not available unless it gets another run as the item of the day.
@customers How are those hoodies working out? We’re selling them again over on Meh and would love you to chime in with the community.

@dave mine pilled pretty quickly, but otherwise comfy.
@phendrick If you’re willing to become a contractor who gets paid in TrackRs, expired snacks, car charger plugs, and Casery stuff, I’m sure something could be worked out.
@dave @phendrick I prefer to know absolute differences and not relative ones.
@Kidsandliz “Now with double the protein!” (2g instead of 1g in a 145g “serving”.)
@dave @Kidsandliz If I tell you “It’s 10% hotter today than yesterday”, exactly what have you learned?
@werehatrack At least that would be an improvement over my having paid them for such things.
@dave @phendrick Here is how relative percent can be/is deceiving.
Let’s say you have cancer and are told if you take a drug (with really nasty side effects) it cuts your chance of recurrence in half (by 50% so this is a relative percent difference) That sounds pretty good. Doesn’t it? Maybe I should take it despite the side effects.
