3-blade props

Waddaya think?

I assume that, they give more lift if the benefits outweigh the additional weight, though some of these blades are advertised as lighter than the 2-blade. I also believe balancing is absolutely necessary (if it wasn't already).

Any of you have experience with these?

@sportykev, I actually came across this video last year when I was considering 3 blade rotors for my CX-20. It's not exactly scientific, but it's a well done comparison.

Without having watched the video or linking to any sources, I've always understood 3 blade props to be less efficient than their 2 bladed counterparts. But you may get other benefits (quieter, less vibration) that outweigh the higher amp draw/shorter flight time.

There also less compact if transporting your bird.
