@TehMaliron SCOSCHE MPQ2OH-XTSP MagicMount Magnetic Phone Mount Charger
For Phone
SCOSCHE new magnetic mount wireless charger can be secured to any flat surface in your car with the reusable stick grip suction cup base. Also, wirelessly charge your Qi-enabled device with up to 10-Watts of charging power without using any charging cable plugged directly into your device. The foreign object detection makes sure that charging only activates when nothing is obstructing that area. It’s compatible with iPhone, Android and Qi-compatible devices.
@pazimzadeh@sparkle_motion looks like the magnets are below the charging coil, so the alignment for charging would likely be off if the magnets even did hold the phone on the unit.
@awk You are perhaps thinking of traditional hard drives. Solid state drives in phones and tablets aren’t as susceptible to magnetic fields. So magnet away!
@awk@MerlinJones@Random_Tangent Well, yeah, they can… But I assumed this was a joke question kind of like “No HDMI?” or other usual entertainment here. Of course there are no more magnetic hard drives in phones or iPods. Of course EMP from a Russian Missile might still disrupt things if close enough. I’d advise staying way from any Russian Missiles just to be on the safe side…
Hard Meh on these. I’ve used the Mophie “Charge Force” magnetically-mounted battery cases and magnetically-mounted charging-only cases for years. Their desktop mounts are currently $10 each. Granted they’re only 5W Qi chargers, they’re still my favorite desktop mounts and I trust Mophie’s build quality far more than Scosche
Was wondering whether I can modify these to go in the cd car slot, I have a traditional non-charging cd slot mount and if I can remove the front and put this on it with the traditional ball mounted fixture at the back. If someone has the back photo of this particular charger, I would appreciate it
Hmm… I don’t currently have a wireless charge capable phone, but I’m thinking about picking up the Pixel 5. Looks like the magnet positions would block the fingerprint reader. I think I’ll pass this time.
@gfreek Same here. The magnet on these things requires something that is attached to the phone in order to work. Getting a wireless charge through that (metal plate) and my very-thin-but-perhaps-not-thin-enough phone case has never worked for me.

The Shoveller: You threw a spoon at the guy, Jeff!
Mr. Furious: Yeah, what was up with that?
The Blue Raja: I, I, I am embarrassed about that. I thought it was a fork.
The Shoveller: You’re the master of cutlery. You couldn’t throw a knife sometimes when someone’s trying to kill me?
The Blue Raja: No, I can’t! You couldn’t, uh, use a rake sometimes?
The Shoveller: No. I’m the Shoveler.
The Blue Raja: Well, I’m the Blue Raja. I’m not Stab Man, I’m not Knifey Boy - I’m the Blue Raja.

I have mounting doubts
I’ve been mounted before. Wasn’t bad
@bugger
@bugger Then, you should change your name to “buggee.”
@joeywolf or - - Buggeyed
@bugger You should be so lucky!
@bugger hot!
No spec on what wattage the Qi charger puts out? I’m sure it a-mounts to very little.

Do these work with the iPhone 12’s aka MagSafe?
Echoing this question. If it works with the iPhone 12, I think I’m in.
@pazimzadeh @sparkle_motion looks like the magnets are below the charging coil, so the alignment for charging would likely be off if the magnets even did hold the phone on the unit.
@ticklescratch the image provided by meh has the magnets in a different location to your photo.
Is the magnet strong enough to work through a plastic case?
OH MY GOD THEY HAD THE PERFECT SETUP TO USE GLEN AND… THEY DIDN’T!!!
Two for Tuesday! And yesterday I was dreading Friday the 13th.
Is this what they mean by “phone sex”?
Gotta give credit for the Mount Rainier reference.
Size?
@ftkaplan That’s what she asked…
Won’t the magnets erase the hard drive?
@awk You are perhaps thinking of traditional hard drives. Solid state drives in phones and tablets aren’t as susceptible to magnetic fields. So magnet away!
@awk That’s the old iPhone!
@awk @MerlinJones Magnets also don’t erase traditional hard drives.
@awk @MerlinJones @Random_Tangent Oh yes they do! Take it from me!

The base almost looks like it takes 3 AAA batteries
Was wondering whether I can modify these to go in the cd car slot, I have a traditional non-charging cd slot mount and if I can remove the front and put this on it with the traditional ball mounted fixture at the back. If someone has the back photo of this particular charger, I would appreciate it

My Samsung would not charge wireless without removing the magnet that you attach to the phone back…
@gfreek Same here. The magnet on these things requires something that is attached to the phone in order to work. Getting a wireless charge through that (metal plate) and my very-thin-but-perhaps-not-thin-enough phone case has never worked for me.
I miss the good old Meh days when there were knives every other day…
@petrosclark Feeling a little “stabby” today?

Is it one box of two or two boxes of one?
@sjunkie78 Yes
@sjunkie78 after all the twofers I’ve bought from Meh, I don’t recall a single one that wasn’t two packaged separately.
Yes
@alternatetheory maybe.
The magnet is NOT holding my phone it keeps sliding off… I took off my case and still not staying on…anyone else having same issue.
