For the women’s cut shirts, they are basically just recovering the cost of the blanks and a trivial fraction of the cost of production here. It’s fair to say that they’re taking a significant hit on these.
@werehatrack The designs are awful, and I can get blank shirts I know will fit for a lot less.
It’s a tad telling when they don’t post any example designs.
@sammydog01@werehatrack I always forget I have access to Comet now that I live slightly higher up than I did before, and when I do remember it’s usually showing Buffy or The X-files and I’m like, I can’t go through that again.
If I feel like a woman tonight, can I buy a Men’s size shirt for 8 bucks?
If not, you are violating some one of my rights, or another, and I’m going to protest it somewhere, and maybe even stand in the middle of the highway with a sign.
So there.
@SnDMommy Oh, I understand science just fine, thank you. As a bonus, I even understand ethics. Heck I’ve administered the vaccine many hundreds of times, have setup very effective mass vaccine campaigns even. Feel free to attack my person but at the end of the day I watched 87% of my colleagues slowly be coerced and forced into doing something they didn’t want to do and then later becoming evangelists for the same. The same people telling you “don’t worry, just do it” held out until there was a threat of personal loss. Like loss of career, money, esteem. Only then did those appointment slots really fill up.
I’ve also watched as I’ve educated physicians on how to report adverse events and they stone faced saying “nope, can’t be doing that” likely out of fear of being maligned much like you are doing now “he’s a quack, he’s anti science, he’s antivax, he’s a killer, etc” or frankly giving truly personalized care and following up with a reporting system is incongruent with the meat grinder medical system of 5-10 min appointments.
I’ve also watched my colleagues return now after some time and hear reports of how they or their love ones now have some mysterious auto immune disease that is incredibly painful and debilitating. Vaccine injured yes, nothing you can do about it because it’s all EUA and you agreed to be experimented on in an emergency. It’s in the fine print. Sucks to suck is what they are told if not given a cold shoulder from the get go.
At the end of the day, my point in this is the era of my body my choice is over and we aren’t the ones who killed it. Anyone who can still make that argument while supporting uninformed consent for experimental treatment forced under great coercion and duress is capable of holding 2 mutually exclusive ideas as true at the same time. The cognitive dissonance is real.
War is peace. Love is hate.
I’ve got no hate in my heart for you SnDMommy, I believe in personal autonomy, informed consent, and all the rest but we’ve lost a lot of things these past few years.
@brainmist@qazxto@SnDMommy That’s a really, really crummy argument and you know it. By way of analogy, women in Red states weren’t forcefully strapped down until they gave birth, and (until very very recently) were free to travel out of state - but everyone understood that closing clinics induced hardships, just the same as certain businesses made it very very hard for anyone who elected not to receive the Covid vaccines, and no decent human being would accept a sneering “show me the tape of you being forced to deliver a baby” as anything other than the nasty horsepuckey it is. Check yourself.
@brainmist dear sir or madam, the comment previous to mine does a thorough explanation however I would like add one thing. In our society of plenty and over abundance and culture of job hopping it’s easy to just say “learn to code! Get a different job.”
However, if you look you will see historically your job was tantamount to your life. It’s how you feed yourself and kids, house them, get goods and services. This is why a job is also known as a livelihood. As in it provides the basics for you to maintain life.
Furthermore, news reports were not infrequent with reports of malicious travesties such as children with terrible cancers getting kicked out of Ronald McDonald houses and transplant patients being denied and people getting kicked out or barred from receiving various essential services. Murmurs were abundant for a while that maybe counties might call CPS on you too.
In other countries, there were videos of forced treatment. No idea if those were real or not but it was blood curling.
They all but put a gun to my head and I wondered how I would feed my kids. “Just get the shot! Then you won’t have to worry about that, you can go anywhere, do anything. Just. Do. It.”
That is not a free choice.
So heck yeah, you have to put money down to protect personal autonomy and informed consent, non-maleficence, beneficence, and justice.
You can’t pick and choose when to defend these things or else you end up with medical atrocities as seen by not just the nazis but also, historically, the USA and CIA, and China, and and and etc. Look up how nazis contributed to life jacket research. Big warning, it’s ugly.
@brainmist it’s crazy because shirt.woot was excellent. I got a ton of shirts from there. And yet mediocritee, maybe 3. I’m not sure why so many of these shirts were just so miss. They even had a lot of the same artists!
@hchavers Did I mention that I don’t wear corporate advertising if I have a choice. (This has the side effect that anything based on Disney IP is now technically problematic in that regard, which has me more than a little conflicted.)
I am a chick who happens to appreciate chick-cut t-shirts. “Unisex” are either too tight on the boobs & hips + too big in the stomach (size small) or fit like a potato sack that’s somehow still too tight in the hips (medium). I wanted to support the site because I appreciated that it carried chick sizes, but I never saw a design I liked enough to justify the price (which is unfortunate because I own loads of lady-shaped meh and woot tees). At $4 a pop, I’ll spring for some because I can either donate them or wear them while working on the car. In summary: Cut was much appreciated; designs were not.
@fondaporn Most women (at least the girls high school soccer players) all hated the women’s cut and want the regular. You’re actually the first person I’ve read with a preference the other way.
@fondaporn@wickhameh Former soccer player and former swimmer and I much prefer women’s cut. Even with my wider shoulders and narrow hips, unisex still fit me weirdly.
@fondaporn@lilgreenfish@wickhameh T-shirt printer and 30 year convention dealer here, and I can state from long experience that no matter which of the myriad non-interchangeable styles of female-oriented t-shirt cut was chosen for any given design, women would buy the unisex version with at least five times the frequency as the cut that was allegedly aimed at them. There is no standard women’s cut because there is no standard woman, and there is a hell of a lot more variation than with the shape of men.
@wickhameh Even if they went a size or two up? I guess bc I’ve got them child-bearin’ hips + boobs but not a large waist, I can never get a men’s shirt to not look ridiculous on me, no matter the size.
@lilgreenfish@werehatrack@wickhameh And the pricing was the same? Very interesting. Maybe my body just happens to align well with “average” women’s cuts. Also, I don’t get caught up in sizing. If the chart says S, get a S; if it says XL, I get XL. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@fondaporn@werehatrack@wickhameh I mean, congrats? I was stating my preference. Zero extrapolation to anyone else. But thanks for mansplaining my preference to me, I guess? Most of my friends, hikers/runners/athletes, like women’s cut as well. We are fully aware there is zero standard…it’s kinda a lived experience for us.
@fondaporn Who knows? It could have something to do with these shirts becoming practice shirts, so they want the baggy cut, or… you know what? I’m only going to make myself sound like a sexist idiot by speculating any further.
@fondaporn@lilgreenfish Maybe it depends on what the shirt is for? Even though it’s anecdotal, I appreciate your feedback, because I can’t ask the players about it directly.
@narfcake Question for you, I was looking at the Woot size chart for comparison. It says the women’s fitted are larger than the women’s classic. Is that true? Because the 3XL here look to be slightly wider than the Woot women’s classic XL but smaller than the fitted XL. I just want to buy some stupid shirts.
@sammydog01 Woot’s women’s shirts and the ones here are WAY different in dimensions. Woot uses blanks for women whose main difference is that they are about six inches shorter than the men’s. Mediocritee used blanks that followed a size pattern more typical of what’s called “Misses” sizing. In Woot, I wear a Medium, and it’s a bit short. In Mediocritee, I wear an XL, and it’s about right.
@werehatrack Do you get the classic or fitted at Woot? I’m mostly interested in width. The size chart at Woot lists an almost 2 inch difference between classic and fitted. If the size charts mean anything which is doubtful. (I ordered some last night so it probably doesn’t matter anyway.)
@sammydog01 I generally go with the men’s medium on Woot, but the lack of a trimmer cut means that I seldom buy theirs. I have no idea what they were smoking when they called that other chart “fitted”, but it must have been some potently awful shit. “Fitted” generally means “trimmer” in the clothing industry, but not to them.
@sammydog01@werehatrack In the past, the women’s “fitted” option were indeed slimmer as they were Bella+Canvas 6004, which were comparable to the American Apparel sizing. Alas, after dealing with way too many folks who don’t read sizing charts and complained “it doesn’t fit”, I believe they switched to the relaxed 6400 blanks.
The “classic” is the Port and Company LPC450, which don’t have a lot of shape to them but at least they’re not bell-shaped like the previous Anvil 880 blanks.
On the men’s side, the numbers don’t exactly reflect the end products either. The “classic” Port and Company PC450 tend to be a little bit wider (looser) and spot on for length while the “fitted” Bella+Canvas 3001 tend to be spot on for width and longer in length.
@narfcake@werehatrack So the chart is right. I do have a few Woot shirts that are too short and too bell shaped. Probably the anvils then. Maybe these will work.
/giphy thanks
@sjk3@yakkoTDI The sour grapes seem mostly confined to this site. Fortunately civilized discourse still prevails over there… though recently a few more bitter posts — are you guys sending them over?
OK, 1st meh purchase. Probably going to be super disappointed but I’m hoping the shirt selectors read this and think… hmm this girl needs some cat shirts. Can we do that? Probably not, but for 8 bucks, hopefully decent enough to dry my hair.
@michelesmith216 The one decent shirt I got was actually cute cats celebrating Halloween, and I completely forgot to give it to the spooky cat person I hung out with today. Anyway, hopefully they read this and send you that.
If you have that many women in rotation to give shirts to, you either have a poor management problem or a perfect management system. Either way, it’s a story you need to tell somebody.

Ah, so the bullshit when they sold BOGO and people claimed it was still below cost. How did this magically happen? At least they are starting to ship it at price. Hey, send out the womens as jokes to VMPs, if they are that worthless.
I’m in for 6 of the women’s. Other than the fact that they run incredibly small and I have to order up about 3 sizes, I love the fit of them! They are much more flattering than a straight cut tee.
Please pick me some good ones, Meh!
Preferably anything Monty Python or 80’s/90’s references. I’m too old to understand the manga stuff.
@OldCatLady Might give it another shot, it seems to be functional from here. If all else fails, i suspect that this sale will remain live for an additional 24 hours. Most of them have been doing that for about a year now.
Don’t hate either of the shirts I got. Really like the ice cream one even though pink isn’t normally my color. Women’s 3X fits about the same as the few unisex L I have but a bit shorter. Wearable but will probably have to be selective as to when.
@Euniceandrich I only found the other one on Tee Fury, listed as “RUN N’ GUN,” by estudiofitas. (Character "Cuphead.) I do remember it being on Mediocritee, though.
As I opened the package, I was thinking I’ve ordered quite a few tees and randoms, wonder if I’ll get any duplicates (foreshadowing)
I got:
The God of all Zillas, gorgeous Godzilla woodcut looking art on heather
Light Side Club on heather
Broba Fett, Bubba Fett on charcoal
Broba Fett, Bubba Fett on cream, which is like an eye test to see the yellow and white on the cream shirt. It’s almost as stealth as my black on black vmp shirt.
So no duplicates of what I had before, but a duplicate to the actual shirt next to it in the stack. Lol!

Bro. Can you fucking stop trying to offload your failed t shirts here
@thechinglish I hope they keep selling shirts on here. I love reading all the whiney fucks complain about it.
@yakkoTDI lol dude doesn’t even know how to spell whiny correctly
@thechinglish Whiney…uncommon, but still correct. Besides, yakkoTDI has been inhaling those fumes from his trunk, so I think a pass is in order.
@detailer @thechinglish But he did misspell ‘phux’.
@detailer @rpstrong @thechinglish
How the fuck do you misspell a word you have never heard of, don’t know the definition of and were not trying to use?
@detailer @thechinglish @yakkoTDI Very carefully.
@thechinglish @yakkoTDI You mean whinnying?
Can I pick which random ones I get?
For the women’s cut shirts, they are basically just recovering the cost of the blanks and a trivial fraction of the cost of production here. It’s fair to say that they’re taking a significant hit on these.
@werehatrack I’m going to give the biggest women’s size a shot. Wish me luck.
@sammydog01 @werehatrack It’s equivalent to a men’s large? Women’s sizes are fucked up.
@mossygreen @werehatrack Women’s 3XL is a bit wider and a lot shorter than a men’s large. And cheaper.
On a different note @mossygreen did you watch Destroy All Monsters? It’s one of my favorites.
@werehatrack The designs are awful, and I can get blank shirts I know will fit for a lot less.
It’s a tad telling when they don’t post any example designs.
@brainmist @werehatrack I’m wearing a Meh random right now. It has a weird robot on it. I like it.
@sammydog01 @werehatrack Sure did! And watching Kolchak right now!
@mossygreen @werehatrack I bailed on Batman and started watching Capricorn One on Comet. Good movie.
@sammydog01 @werehatrack I always forget I have access to Comet now that I live slightly higher up than I did before, and when I do remember it’s usually showing Buffy or The X-files and I’m like, I can’t go through that again.

So there.
@phendrick Sure, you just have to also agree to surrender rights to make decisions for your own body. That seems fair, right?
@brainmist @phendrick my body my choice. Except for forced medical experimentation right? In that case, your body my choice roll up your sleeve pleb.

Me: Gee, I hope if I randomly buy some, they’re not some awful mishmash of Star Wars, '80s video games, and bad LOTR takes!
(The shirts: Oh hey, received your shopping list and ALL OF THE ABOVE, you’re welcome!)
I’m hoping I can maybe rehome these? But the site died because it failed utterly to predict an audience.
@brainmist it’s crazy because shirt.woot was excellent. I got a ton of shirts from there. And yet mediocritee, maybe 3. I’m not sure why so many of these shirts were just so miss. They even had a lot of the same artists!
@thechilipepper0 Peak shirt.woot was a different era. Since 2012 …
All these and more can definitely yield some “it’s just too much to keep up” for the audience.
Personally, I don’t care so much about pop culture mashups; I prefer original designs. Alas, the broader market doesn’t feel the same way.
The vendors at trade shows give away a lot of swag, like the t-shirts. I usually bring back a few. Did I mention they give them away?

@fondaporn Just get one of these to cover those ill-fitting shirts.
@fondaporn Most women (at least the girls high school soccer players) all hated the women’s cut and want the regular. You’re actually the first person I’ve read with a preference the other way.
@fondaporn @wickhameh Former soccer player and former swimmer and I much prefer women’s cut. Even with my wider shoulders and narrow hips, unisex still fit me weirdly.
@fondaporn @lilgreenfish @wickhameh T-shirt printer and 30 year convention dealer here, and I can state from long experience that no matter which of the myriad non-interchangeable styles of female-oriented t-shirt cut was chosen for any given design, women would buy the unisex version with at least five times the frequency as the cut that was allegedly aimed at them. There is no standard women’s cut because there is no standard woman, and there is a hell of a lot more variation than with the shape of men.

@sammydog01 @werehatrack In the past, the women’s “fitted” option were indeed slimmer as they were Bella+Canvas 6004, which were comparable to the American Apparel sizing.
@narfcake @werehatrack So the chart is right. I do have a few Woot shirts that are too short and too bell shaped. Probably the anvils then. Maybe these will work.

Finally got to buy some. It appears my phone antagonized the site. Laptop worked, just in time.
Got my 2 shirts today. No duplicates! !

I am pleased with my random shirts.
Two thumbs up. Will wear both.

@gogrrl Oh, those are excellent!
@gogrrl So jealous of the Mediocritee Closing shirt.
@Euniceandrich @gogrrl I’m jealous for the @jasneko kon-neko-wa catshirt, even though I bought it already when it was originally offered.
Don’t hate either of the shirts I got. Really like the ice cream one even though pink isn’t normally my color. Women’s 3X fits about the same as the few unisex L I have but a bit shorter. Wearable but will probably have to be selective as to when.
Got mine yesterday!
@cbatte And someone else scores a Mediocritee Unlaunch by Dan Zettwoch
@Euniceandrich I was positively giddy when I saw that one.
@OldCatLady
@OldCatLady I have that one, too.
@OldCatLady You got a lot of cat shirts! Seems not so random, maybe? Lucky!
And the others are especially nice too.
Mine weren’t that cool, and seriously even 3X looks small. Kind of disappointing.
@Mandamm Mine are tight and now I need Meh to sell some chocolate to make me feel better.
What’s the gray one?
@mehla I think it’s “The Last of Us”?
@mehla video game turned show on HBO Max. Worth a watch imo
@davidaddor I guess I should’ve taken a look before my free trial ended.
@davidaddor @mehla If you Google it and click on the little mushroom icon, it gives you special effects:
I miss the old site, with old random orders I could search and figure out the artist…
Can anyone help me?
@Euniceandrich The first one is “4LB3RT” by GammaRay.
@Euniceandrich I only found the other one on Tee Fury, listed as “RUN N’ GUN,” by estudiofitas. (Character "Cuphead.) I do remember it being on Mediocritee, though.
@Kyeh Thank you!
I still haven’t gotten my shirts. I hope to get them soon…
Mine have not shipped yet.
Same here. Hasn’t shipped yet
same
In the ‘not shipped yet’ club
It turns out that women’s shirts fit me better than men’s. And you stopped selling them.

Used my shirt delay coupon on an Irk!
Mine sucked!
Eh, I did okay. Mostly I wear tees under a button up shirt anyway so these will get plenty of use. I’d never pick these designs though.
I’m jealous of the folks that got the Pac-Man/Chain Chomp mash up!
I got my order today.
As I opened the package, I was thinking I’ve ordered quite a few tees and randoms, wonder if I’ll get any duplicates (foreshadowing)
I got:
So no duplicates of what I had before, but a duplicate to the actual shirt next to it in the stack. Lol!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is this a cream tee?!
