You must yearn for the socket. Practice w/ The patches… you’re gonna need a montage.

I have some other primula products & I certainly believe the reviews that say these are prone to leaking & breaking.
but…
when their products work, they work really well.

“Model: PCGBK-1220. The PC stands for “perfect coffee.” The rest is the recipe for the perfect coffee. We haven’t deciphered that part yet.”
The other part stands for “GoodBye Krups- 1220 dollars a year saved.”
Or something.
@KidKobun I had a VMP for… a year or two I think. When they used to sell shit worth buying. Been a long long time… Since I bought anything. When they do finally have something the $5 shipping kills it for me. And if you sign up for mehmbership you know they aren’t going to sell anything worth it twice in the same month.
I may have to buy this just because of the greatness of the description! Spit hot coffee over my keyboard - hmmm, do you suppose cold brew would have been better?
@Thumperchick Thanks! I find that drinking cold tea is more statisfying than hot tea unless I have a sore throat. Now I can finally stop buying bottles of Pure Leaf and Snapple tea from the gas station. Now to order some tea from Upton Tea Imports…
@FearTheNoFear@Thumperchick You can also just brew tea hot and then pour it over ice or chill it in the refrigerator. That’s what standard iced tea is.
@FearTheNoFear@Limewater@Thumperchick of you could just throw a tea bag in a bottle of not hot water. Not rocket science. The bottle is only useful because it has a sieve for coffee grounds. Unless you’re using loose leaf tea it’s called a tea bag. Hang a few in a picture of water
@FearTheNoFear@Limewater@unksol You could just put the loose tea leaves in a cup of hot water. Not brain surgery. The bottle is only useful because it’s a bottle.
Bought these last time. Fine ground coffee will slip through the filter. Course ground won’t. But good luck getting it to not leak at least a little bit out of the bottom when you first fill it. You also have to use a lot more coffee (~2x) vs what you’d use for drip brew per cup. Very meh indeed
@SaintO you should grind very coarsely–like for percolator. Pre-ground coffee is too fine. If you use proper grind the amount of coffee needed isn’t 2x, and after steeping for 15+h you end up with a more concentrated elixir which must be diluted to get to the same strength as drip.
@cleeland@G1 I never had good luck with it. The best I found was simply to try and keep the filter as even as possible and try and get the lid to seal without causing the filter to shift as the gasket seals. I gave the bottles to a buddy of mine that likes iced coffee a lot more than I do and he’s been happy with them. #YMMV
@G1 make sure the little wire handle sits down inside the filter, not atop, as well as do what @SaintO says. I’ve not removed the gasket, so I can upload a photo of how the gasket sits in the lid.
I was about to buy when I remembered that I already have a cold brew contraption plus we have cold brew on tap at work. But you? You should definitely buy it.
Bought these the last time when packaged with the carafe-based cold brewer. I like these for trying out a cold brew of a new bean (not all beans cold-brew well), but overall I prefer the carafe-based cold brewer. These are more difficult to clean and if the grinds basket is not seated perfectly in the recess at the bottom, leakage will happen.
Helpful tip: if you have a sous vide gizmo and want to speed up the process, set these up and set your immersion heater for 150F and put them in the water bath for 2-4h. Make sure you leave the top unscrewed just enough that air can get out.
I have one of these and i love it. I keep it in the office and have a larger pot in the fridge at all times.
It should be noted that you should experiment with Cold Brew larger ground products to get the maximum flavor and reduce grit in your coffee. Cold brew filters do not work well with fine ground unless you add some kind of cheese cloth or tea bag…
I love the portability and convenience of the bottle. It s well made and sturdy and well engineered also in my opinion. I bought some for gifts. Thanks MEH…
Meh, describes my life…
@Ignorant When I brew hot coffee, I love a burundi, but for cold brew, I’ll try and find a blend of coffee and chicory. It adds a really nice bit of sweetness and spice to it.

@Thumperchick
Does Cali have a traffic problem?
Finally!
Somewhere else to cold store my extra batteries since my fridge is full.
@arrakisforce Time for another fridge. You can never have too many.
@shahnm you say that like a joke, but my mother-in-law kept the old fridge after the new was installed. Ok, that is pretty funny.
@hchavers @shahnm That’s not that out of the ordinary. Where do you think garage fridges start their lives?
@arrakisforce- Right now they can be put ouside, unless it’s Hot where one lives!!
Yep - Bay Area here

Polar reviews
Should have been a 2-pack of
Meh Face Popsockets
Could have been more profitable.
Would have been another sellout.
But it isn’t. DAY 138
@mike808 I got two from @trillian in a meh exchange bonus box (seriously amazing, look at the meh exchange thread to see it), my teenager grabbed one and just ran.
@KittySprinkles @Trillian Doesn’t help @deathbynoodlez. He’s looking to get about 50 of them for his wedding. Day 136 and still waiting, Meh.
@KittySprinkles @mike808 @Trillian-Just holler, “You Can Run, But You’ll Just Die {or get Caught-you might not wanna kill your son!} Tired”!!
@deathbynoodlez @mike808 @reclaimercube
How many Billion MFPS will you buy each? I mean if you are only going to buy a million you are not committed
@deathbynoodlez @reclaimercube @sippinndippin
Doesn’t matter how many we will buy individually. Its the aggregate that matters.
Thats why we are asking our Mehnions to offer them up for sale again, preferably in 4-packs or 2-packs of more than quantity 3.
@mike808
Get hard

@reclaimercube I think you missed an “as”
@unksol I’m always the as
I have two of these and the bigger liter sized one, they’re great and work well
This is probably a pretty good item, but they put IRK’s head on my body. I can never see myself the same again.
@hchavers Are you absolutely sure that it’s not your head on Irk’s body?
No need to thank me. Just enjoy the concept…

This reminds me of Panama papers in that it should be consumed in small doses
I had a membership for over two months and didn’t see a single thing I wanted/needed and I finally canceled last week. Now this comes along. Figures.
@KidKobun Is the two months you weren’t paying VMP fees more than the shipping? Then you’re ahead! Better now?
@KidKobun-You can Uncancel!¡

Send me them & just put them on my account!! Me will be a happy cold brewed coffee/vodka camper, or rather, drinker!!
These are exactly what Satan would want you to buy.
I’m not burning in Hell just for cold brewed coffee…
I may have to buy this just because of the greatness of the description! Spit hot coffee over my keyboard - hmmm, do you suppose cold brew would have been better?
Could this be used for cold brew tea?
@FearTheNoFear That’s what I use them for.

Nice honest review. Need more of those on here because we don’t know what to buy lol.

@cleeland @SaintO not sure I 100% agree but I’ll give a star for “elixir”
@SaintO @cleeland Any hints on how to keep the base from leaking?
Got one last time.
Does the gasket go in with the “ridge” towards the glass or towards the base-cap?
@cleeland @G1 I never had good luck with it. The best I found was simply to try and keep the filter as even as possible and try and get the lid to seal without causing the filter to shift as the gasket seals. “Store in the fridge for 12 hours and shake during the brewing process.”
My arms are going to get really tired.
@lifeat24fps
My arms probably couldn’t even pick up the fridge to shake.
@lifeat24fps @sippinndippin All those batteries in the fridge make it very heavy
I was about to buy when I remembered that I already have a cold brew contraption plus we have cold brew on tap at work. But you? You should definitely buy it.
@ahacksaw I want cold brew on tap at work. Please tell me where to apply.
Thanks to Amazon reviews, I’ll pass. Caveat emptor.
They have package of 6 at Amazon… Pass…pfft

Anyone have a favorite brand/roast/origin of coffee bean for home cold brew?
@Ignorant When I brew hot coffee, I love a burundi, but for cold brew, I’ll try and find a blend of coffee and chicory. It adds a really nice bit of sweetness and spice to it.
@dseanadams we’ll have to give that a try, thanks.
This thing sucks. It started leaking after 1 use
@dnarshi 1 leak in 5 months is pretty good.
