I’m in bed searching for electric toothbrushes because I left mine today on vacation. Looking at this exact one but only want one, Meh. Get me one for $32 and you got a deal.
If you don’t have an electric toothbrush (and you 100% should), buy this now. I suggest a backup handle for the household, especially at this price. The good news is that there are only two types of sonicare connections and this is the newer type so you’ll be able to find brush heads for years to come. The bad news is that they didn’t decrease the price on their brush heads when they simplified them, although there are aftermarket options. If you think of spending like $10 every few months to keep your teeth really clean, it’s really not so bad.
Also the minty fresh color should help with your breath.
@Superllama7 It’s not do much cleaning teeth as it is taking care of gums. That’s the important thing these do.
The newer heads have chips in them so appropriate brushes can tell you when it’s time to change them, but you can still use older push-on heads with those brushes.
My concern with getting a backup handle is whether or not the battery will last without use.
@craigthom@Superllama7 I’ve had some for many years (keep buying them on deals even though I don’t need them) and all batteries are still working, though the very old low-end ones slowly lose charge, they can still be recharged and work. The higher-end ones seem to keep a charge very well.
BTW speaking of brush heads, that’s one thing that makes this deal great, you get 4 brush heads, which actually are worth about $30 for 4, so that’s half the value right there. (for official “real” ones, not counterfeits from China)
@craigthom I’m no expert, but I don’t think the batteries would be affected by storage (don’t store lithium batteries at full charge). That said, I do swap the handles around every couple of months to keep everything even
This is good deal. Probably won’t see better, maybe close to this at Sam’s for BF. Costco won’t have this lower end model, but it just needs to brush teeth, right?
@mike808 I think this is a pretty good mid-line model. Not the super-high-end one they had here for about $150 for 2, last month. (a super-good deal on that one too). These have the USB charging also, which is nice. Also most of the lower-end ones only come with 1 brush head and this comes with 2 (per unit, for a total of 4) – which again is 1/2 the value right there.
I have been coming to this site for years, and I just discovered where/how to view the pictures you guys are always talking about. “WTF is baby arm and what does it mean?” — Me, no more
Evolution only cares about making babies, so no traits are improved after reproductive years.
Consequently evolution doesn’t care what happens after we are forty to fifty. Our knees and backs wear out from walking upright, our eye lenses lose elasticity and transparency, and our teeth go bad.
For me the primary benefit of a Sonicare toothbrush is not cleaning the surface of the teeth but cleaning between the teeth and the gums at the base. The depths of these gaps are half what they were when i used a manual brush, so bacteria isn’t going to grow in there and make my teeth fall out.
Our teeth haven’t evolved to last that long. It’s up to us to make them last as long as possible.
@craigthom Man, how depressing. Also accurate. Being in that age range of inevitable decline you mention, I might as well make the best of it and celebrate buy buying stuff on the Internetz.
@craigthom until the point that 50 year olds are helping their adult kids so they have the time to match like minded people on tinder and make babies, at which point evolution can select for traits that make for excellent 50 year olds.
@jjrogers41 I have a slightly older version of this and they are designed for everything but tottal submersion. So your’e probably good to go for all your shower tooth brushing needs.
@jjrogers41 I rinse my (different model, but, you know) Sonicare under running water all the way down.
I had one brush fail, though, because the gasket around the vibrating metal shaft failed and water got into it. My brush would start running in the middle of the night.
It was replaced under warranty. The replacement didn’t have that problem, nor does the one I bought to replace that one when I left it somewhere.
@wickhameh
Sonicare only has 2 brush head types, both types replacement packs are on sale at Costco. The other type looks like a golf ball cut in half for the base. The model Costco has on sale is the more pricey top-of-the-line model, close to the $150 model Meh offered a bit back. Philips is always tweaking these packages since the basic motorized toothbrush is pretty much unchanged since they introduced them, changing colors, brush head design, case design, graphics on the handle – all cosmetics for the most part. So they can sell different bundles (model #s) to the retailers to sell at different prices and not have to worry about “price match” policies, since only they have that particular model number. (Like Walmart TV models that end in “w”.)
These kits come with different heads, the replacement packs only come in one type, maybe two types (separate 6-packs, all one type or the other). If you like the “Diamond” head (get it?) or the latest specialty head, great. If you like one of the other ones in the kit, you’re SOL and will pay full price for replacements. Or resort to Chinese knockoffs, er, “compatible” heads made with who knows what industrial waste plastics.
I suspect they are clearing old stock to justify the price hikes on tarrifed new stock that will cost 25% more, or clearing overstock they brought in before they got an exemption.
Thankfully, @therealjrn doesn’t have anything better to do on his weekends than cruise the Meh forums and responded.
I tried to buy two and MEH says the limit is one… I think that’s a first, OR maybe they limit the quantity once the deal is paused since they probably only have a few hundred total.
Atleast this cannot leak all over the box when its delivered!! My mailman asked me-what on earth did u order, it smells like giant delicious lemons?!? It was POO-POURRI!!! I WAS SO EMBARASSED!!!
@cristysue - My mailman accidentally delivered our leaky Poo-Pourri box to the nosy across-the-street neighbor. I would have been more embarrassed except he delivered her Amazon Depends delivery to us one time.
I bought the Diamondclean 2-pack, and I’m in for this one too. Considering the brush heads as well, it’s a great value. I will use these as travel/office brushes and retire the cheap Sonicare I have been using for travel - it’s just not as good.

@yankees177 if these break as quick as my last two Sonicares then you’ll need them both.
@Ignorant @yankees177 Why do you keep electric toothbrushes in your bed?
@Ignorant @therealjrn @yankees177 giggity
@Ignorant @therealjrn @yankees177 I call mine “Jerome”. #Bazinga
@sjk3 She calls hers Gerard.
Is this the food Sonicare model? Wait, this is Meh.
@hchavers I use one to clean my veggies and it works great!
These are $ 99 on Morningsave now and I think they were $ 99 on meh previously. What gives?
@Felton10 The first rule of Fight Club…
@Felton10 @RogerWilco
Idk what is the first rule of fight club? Everybody says the first rule of fight club and it’s like they don’t talk about it lol.
do these include an interminable wait, 3 legal proceedings, a t-shirt & really cool coin and bag?
Asking for a friend.
@alacrity Maybe… Must purchase and wait to find out.
@RogerWilco nuh-uh. I still have the other one and it’s paid for.

@pmarin @Superllama7 Yes, I think rotating them would be a good idea. I’m just worried about batteries sitting unused for a couple of years.
And it is a good deal on the heads. I don’t have a charging case, but I’m not sure I need one.

@Bevvie Watch the Tubes “What Do You Want From Life” for 1 possible explanation.

Glad it was paused. I needed a set of these
Costco currently has this and replacement heads on sale. Will any Sonicare brand work, or are they specific to each model?
@wickhameh Curious, our resident Costco booster, @Mike808 has not mentioned this.
@wickhameh

Oh ho ho, another toothbrush sale for ridiculously cheap. No thanks, not again.
@revloki what do you have against small orders of tooth brushes that fall off the back of trucks (that have locking doors)

@carl669 @mediocrebot good bot
I’m only interested in toothbrushes that were maybe stolen. How did that lawsuit end up? Ongoing?

Is the standard reserve for MVP 3%?
I have a sonic care that is probably 10 plus years old. Works great.
Don’t need one it’s a good deal.
if you missed this one, morningsave has a similar two for one deal for $40
