@wootthereitis I’ve never heard of this brand, the 90 day warranty isn’t reassuring, and the specs aren’t great. But meh also had free shipping for members which is cheaper than Prime membership. I’m gonna skip this one either way.
I wish I was cool enough to have somewhere to go where I’d need a charge. Instead I just sit around at home with all my fully charged devices and charging packs ready to sit in my ass and fall asleep eating the Halloween candy no one showed up for.
@mexicantacos And starring your own comments…? Yeesh, you’re like a 21st-century Charlie Brown! Much like I am, except i saved all that money by not buying candy at all, cuz no one has trick or treated around my neighborhood for years. Cue the tumbleweeds!
@mexicantacos Well if you’d like we can all wish you a massive ice storm to give you a days long power outage so that you can feel like you have a use for stuff like this…
Is it a coincidence that with Scrabble letters, if you put “Odec” and “Mire” into a cup, you can shake out “Mediocre”?
(Quick, how many points would that be?)
I already have Prime so it’s a dollar cheaper buying from Amazon and I would get it tomorrow and the warranty is better. However, I still don’t want this.
@itomeshi The cool kids had the rechargeable battery that was so massive that it required a separate belt clip and could run the Game Gear for 10-15 minutes.
My cousin didn’t have the AC adapter and his parents would only buy him craptastic “heavy duty” batteries so he had no way of ever finishing any of his games.
@itomeshi Came here to say this. I still occasionally fire up my blue Game Gear to play some Sonic (mostly to make sure it still works) and the battery life these days never seems as bad as it was back then. The quality of the LCD screen and backlight, however…
Dual inputs? So the center port accepts MUSB and C? I have a sister in Florida who is always “storm ready” but doesn’t have one of these for her cell phone. Can someone recommend a good quality power bank. I think she has an older phone that may not have type C input. Thanks in advance.
@detailer Yeah it looks to me like the center port (input only) is C, so I suspect you can use micro-B input with an adapter. The outputs are A but you can charge either micro-B or C phones with the appropriate cable. So these powerbanks should work (given the right accessories) with any phone and charger combination. They won’t fast-charge though.
These are super cheap and if they work at all, they are a bargain. Anker is a better brand but Meh/Sidedeal’s current Anker powerbank offerings are pretty expensive. If you pay $10 per 10,000 mah or less, you are doing pretty good. I’ve gotten several Mophie packs from Meh for that. These Odecs are $6 per 10k mah, which is bargain basement, in fact low enough to be a bit dubious considering the 90 day warranty and unknown brand. Anker and Mophie have 2 or 3 year warranties.
I’ve had good luck with the larger (10000 mah) Mophie packs but the small ones (2600 mah) I’ve gotten so far have all been duds. For keeping around the house for storms, I’d stay with 10000 or higher.
i bit. cheaper than the ones at fivebelow and smaller for the girl’s bags/purses.

edit- oh wait, with prime it’s cheaper in southamericazon;
cancelled. still bought there and am thankful for the headsup on the deal there, i guess? i feel disloyal
One of mine died today (wont take a charge) after ~120 days. It’s been through ~5 charging cycles! Of course, the warranty was only 90 days. I have little faith in the other one and will only use it around the house so it doesn’t leave me stranded. I will never buy this brand again, and it’s a shame meh has since sold more!

More like this.
@ircon96 That works too.
@cengland0 @yakkoTDI That was my original choice, but my inner juvenile went for goofy!
I’m confused… I can get the same 2-pack for 17 bux on amazon and get it sent prime? How is this a deal?
Oh, and First!

@wootthereitis
Let me explain how this works…
@phr @wootthereitis I’ve been using Odec 18650s and they’re great!
Well, I got mine today from ordering it a week ago and it went down $1.00. Meh.
I wish I was cool enough to have somewhere to go where I’d need a charge. Instead I just sit around at home with all my fully charged devices and charging packs ready to sit in my ass and fall asleep eating the Halloween candy no one showed up for.

Does one ever have too much (potential) power?
@hchavers

@hchavers With great (potential) power comes great (potential) responsibility.
@hchavers Yes, I still have the Morphine power banks, and barely use them.
@blaineg @hchavers But it’s all downhill from here.
Wow, Meh, way to make that extra hour of insomnia seem almost bearable!

@ircon96 Hmm they could have offered an irk in that extra hour.
Is it a coincidence that with Scrabble letters, if you put “Odec” and “Mire” into a cup, you can shake out “Mediocre”?
(Quick, how many points would that be?)
@phendrick Score depends on placement on the board.
I wish they came in separate boxes. Then they would make good stocking stuffers or co-worker gifts.
Ugh, is it that hard to have a USB-C output? The port is right there!
@kostia yes it is… those with usb c are currently selling. These are the over stock. Wait a year or two.
I already have Prime so it’s a dollar cheaper buying from Amazon and I would get it tomorrow and the warranty is better. However, I still don’t want this.
Since I already have Amazon Prime, it is cheaper for me to order from Amazon. With Meh $8.99 shipping now, it becomes too expensive.
@charlie_tca They’re charging $8.99 now? Oof
@charlie_tca @olsmeister my vmp feels so much better now
@charlie_tca shipping is $6 on Meh
Dear copywriter: I hate to be that guy, but the Game Gear held 6 AA batteies, not 8.
That said, your thirty plus is about the right number for being able to play your GG the whole trip without the Car or AC adapters.

@brennyn @itomeshi That’s just torture…
@itomeshi C’mon, admit it - you love being that guy.
@itomeshi @macromeh I think I was that guy before being that guy was a thing.

@zachdecker It worked! Your order number is: traditional-fluorescent-pollution

@mediocrebot @zachdecker Not sure how that typo made it into that image lol

@detailer Anker. Anker all the way.
@GeckoD Thanks
@detailer @GeckoD Mophie is also good.

@detailer @phr if you took the time to look at all the photos, you can see there is another input on the side.
@phr Thank you for the recommendation.

Can you bring back the scorpion (or squid?) version of power banks? Those are great with various cords attached.
@edsa bring back Mophie too!
I am super charged up about this! What an electrifying deal!
1 of 2 is dead,won’t take a charge.
Meh - Still not really a bad deal if the other one works well.
@pdxmatthew contact customer support about this.
