@bugger My house has two Tesla PowerWalls. On most days, they have enough capacity to run my house 100% from solar and batteries. That’s 24kWh total battery storage. Each of these batteries here is 50Wh, so you only need 480 of these. (Please correct my math if I’m wrong.)
@aarond12@macromeh To Be fair he should of bought one Powerwall for every wall. No favoritism. Plus he can help power the block in a power outage. At a increased price. Making money baby!! $$$$
Still waiting for the two odec 10k Mah packs to ship from side deal from the same day I bought the electric jackets… The jackets that arrived 2 days ago.
@ohhwell Yeah. Can I cancel my order over there at $10 each and just order from here instead? I’m not a fan of being punished by companies for ordering stuff from them.
@variable5 Well, no clue if the coats need or even benefit from the QC3.0 support but that’s almost a bare minimum necessity these days (at least for me) in a power bank. Actually, I think I will test the coat out right now and see if it uses QC 3.0. If not, these from Meh today might be good electric coat power packs.
@chienfou So, I just tested the electric coat and it uses a little under 1 Amp per heating element at 5v. It does not use QC3.0 whatsoever so these power banks listed here today on Meh would be perfect to use with the coats.
@PooltoyWolf There is also a PD version that is a little lighter (7.2 oz instead of 7.8) and yes it costs more. Use search on sidedeal and/or morningsave to find it. It has been on meh a few times. But, 90 day warranty like this one, seems marginal. This one at least is super cheap. Must resist, I have too many…
If you really want reliable phone-recharging capability, just carry along one of the larger Jackery packs. Yes, it requires a somewhat larger pocket, but it will also run a leaf blower if the need should arise. OTGH, the Tacklife jumper packs will charge your phone and start your car, both at the same time, and they’re not all that much bigger than these wimpy power banks.
All things considered, since I have both a Jackery pack and a Tacklife jumper pack, I’m gonna wait for the release of the Mark VII Personal ARC Reactor.
Turns out, these are a perfect match for the electric coats sold a week or so ago since the coats do not use QC3.0 at all. Just 5v 2A max (more like 1.77 A)
Ha, new item has been up for almost 10 minutes and it’s still possible to buy these things. They must be eager to get rid of them.
I do like that the input power is 2 amps. I have another 10000 mah PB which is 1 amp or maybe 0.5 amps, so it takes forever to charge. I can live with lack of quick charge on the output side, since the PB is small enough that I can hold it along with my phone while the phone is charging, if needed.
@werehatrack Interesting, thanks. I hadn’t noticed that holdover before. I managed to resist. They will probably come up again during the mehrathon and I’ll try to resist again, but if they are cheaper than $12.99, I might give in.
@Jdub That’s the putative warranty from the “manufacturer”. Meh only covers stuff for 90 days; if the manufacturer offers and honors its own warranty, assuming that the “manufacturer” continues to exist after the Meh warranty, you might get a longer one that way. But don’t count on it.

I have so many of these damn things that when the power goes out, the power company calls me to borrow power
@bugger That’s kind of where I’m at. Probably have like ten just from meh already.
@aarond12 So now you know. I have around 480 of these. See! I don’t need anymore.
@aarond12 @bugger
Do they bully the other lesser walls (who quietly despise them) ?
@aarond12 @macromeh To Be fair he should of bought one Powerwall for every wall. No favoritism. Plus he can help power the block in a power outage. At a increased price. Making money baby!! $$$$

@ohhwell
That’s what I was thinking too!
@ohhwell Yeah. Can I cancel my order over there at $10 each and just order from here instead? I’m not a fan of being punished by companies for ordering stuff from them.
@ohhwell It does make me wonder about just finding an interesting product over there and then waiting for meh to list it at 30% less…
@variable5 It’s all the same company really.
@chienfou So, I just tested the electric coat and it uses a little under 1 Amp per heating element at 5v. It does not use QC3.0 whatsoever so these power banks listed here today on Meh would be perfect to use with the coats.
@ohhwell That’s my point. Same company. Same product. But they’ve had my money for eleven days now, and more of it than if I had just waited.
@variable5 they are different models. The side deal power packs were qc3.0 capable.
Step. Right. This. Way. Folks, getcher $4 savings over buying at Amazon (unless you have Prime there and have to pay shipping here…)
@phendrick Not even four whole dollars. Amazon’s actual price is $16.95 for 2.
@phendrick Thank you for pointing that out, I’m not in an immediate need to purchase so now I can take my time.
These would be a screaming deal if they were fast charge capable, but I understand it would be hard even for Meh to make that price point work.
@PooltoyWolf There is also a PD version that is a little lighter (7.2 oz instead of 7.8) and yes it costs more. Use search on sidedeal and/or morningsave to find it. It has been on meh a few times. Cereal is a fancy-schmancy travel magazine. This is a fawning non-review, but it shows this issue. https://www.ericvokel.com/blog/cereal-life-and-style-around-the-world/

@werehatrack I can’t confirm but, this is in play already. See starkarkreactortopsecret.net
My VIP is come to this; saving shipping on backup batteries I don’t really need.

@hchavers That poor orange.
@hchavers I get it. No type C. Good gif connection
No Type C output is a bummer.
Bring back the squid (or spider) battery pack that has the cables built in. Those were great.
Turns out, these are a perfect match for the electric coats sold a week or so ago since the coats do not use QC3.0 at all. Just 5v 2A max (more like 1.77 A)
Is it TWO 2-packs for $12.99 or one 2-pack for $12.99? Getting 4 power banks in total is a bargain, but barely better than Amazon seems like a wash.
@cfg83 A single two-pack, one black and one white.
Ha, new item has been up for almost 10 minutes and it’s still possible to buy these things. They must be eager to get rid of them.

@phr Meh has let most non-sold-out items run for 48 hours for quite a while now. Some ran longer. 'Thons still end for everything at rollover.
@werehatrack Interesting, thanks. I hadn’t noticed that holdover before. I managed to resist. They will probably come up again during the mehrathon and I’ll try to resist again, but if they are cheaper than $12.99, I might give in.
Why does the picture showing the manual show a 24 month warranty card?
@Jdub That’s the putative warranty from the “manufacturer”. Meh only covers stuff for 90 days; if the manufacturer offers and honors its own warranty, assuming that the “manufacturer” continues to exist after the Meh warranty, you might get a longer one that way. But don’t count on it.
Can’t get the charger cord into the charger, as it’s all bent up inside. So, one of the two works.
One power bank is dead and they will not warranty it! Buyers beware!!! This is some BS now. 90 day warranty? WTF?
@climb4
maybe we have different calendars… but on mine 90 days is over already.
