@boygenius1991 it’s not the 1970s. Polyester doesn’t necessarily deserve the bad rap it still gets. We have both cotton sheets and microfiber sheets at our house… Guess which ones feel better in the summer?
The microfiber.
The problem with microfiber and polyester is there are different qualities of the stuff. Some is bad and sweaty and trapping odours, others are good and superior to cotton. (You never see cotton in top of the line performancewear anymore).
@boygenius1991@OnionSoup
I fell for the impassioned defenses of microfiber. I slept on microfiber at a friend’s house (in the winter) and liked it.
So I bought a set on a deal site – probably here, I don’t recall – and every time I wake up on these sheets, even during the winter, my boobs and knees are welded to the sheets. If I’m careless, it can feel like I’m trying to tear my skin off.
The sheets. Make. My knees. Sweat.
Maybe Sheex are fine, or whatever. But FFS don’t buy cheap polyester.
@OnionSoup I’ve bought these before. They suck. They make you sweat and stink instantaneously and do not breathe. Do not make the same mistake I did. Perhaps there are other brands of microfiber that are nice, but don’t go for the ones meh sells. I wrote an impassioned post about it once, and the meh sales team liked it so much, they made me a character in the writeup when they sold it again later. Very funny guys here.
@UFGatorHawk "The mahi-mahi (/ˈmɑːhiːˈmɑːhiː/)[3] or common dolphinfish (Coryphaena hippurus) is a surface-dwelling ray-finned fish " … “Though the species is also referred to as the common dolphinfish, the use of “dolphin” can be misleading as they are not related to dolphins”
@Chronicle Thread count is little more than marketing fluff. Anything higher than about 400 usually counts the different plies in each strand of thread as its own thread; e.g. 500 thread count is more likely 250-count made with 2-ply thread.
I’ve bought microfiber sheets from Meh in the past. They are soft. I don’t think microfiber sheets can ever be described as crisp. The inclusion of that word in the description is misleading imo.
@Pamela
We bought 3 king size microfiber sheet sets from Meh years ago. I don’t like their feel as much as cotton but they’re still comfortable sheets and at the price Meh sells them for its hard to argue against them.
My only complaint about them is their longevity, but in my case that’s probably more my fault than the sheets. My feet are very calloused and because of that the microfiber would eventually start to pill in the area around my feet. Eventually I wore right through the fitted sheets. But despite that abuse they lasted a fair while. One microfiber set doesnt last as long as one cotton set but due to the price, dollar for dollar, you could argue the microfiber lasted longer.
Three Meh microfiber sets combined were cheaper than one cotton set at Costco, and those three sets far outlasted the one cotton set.
The copywriter realised the thing that was on my mind all the way through the copy… that this was only “twin” or “full”. Well played, Meh, well played.
@UncleVinny
Yeah they’re definitely not too common these days. We used to have a full size bed with really nice hardwood foot & headboards, but we gave it away years ago to a family who needed it.
@UncleVinny I bought a sofa-bed earlier this year because I had guests coming in April and my old couch was comfortable neither for sitting or sleeping. I bought one with a queen size bed first but they couldn’t get it around a corner on the stairs so I had to settle for a shorter sofa with a full sized bed. As a result I need some full sized sheets. (Of course both visits have been cancelled but I’m enjoying my new sofa.) So I’d say the kind of barbarian who makes guests sleep on a mere full size bed.
I bought 2 sets of these last time Meh had them up for sale. I ordered twin size sets & they shipped full size, which we can’t use. I’m still waiting to hear back from them about it and I’m hoping they still have 2 twin size sheet sets in black they can send me as a replacement. Meh has always had good customer service in my experience so I’m not worried about coming to a positive resolution. It’s just frustrating; I need those sheets.
We’ve tried microfiber sheets from Meh in the past (king size) and were happy with them. Hopefully the twin sheets will turn out as well as the king size did.
“Microfiber” … no deal. Never gonna buy slimy polyester sheets. A claim that a product is “wicking” is always a warning sign that you’re being lied to.
I think Meh missed a big marketing opportunity here. These would be perfect as a backdrop for virtual meetings. King and Queen sized sheets are a little large when all you want is a solid color sheet behind you.
One could also use them to project onto for some backyard movie time since theaters don’t exist anymore.
Not that anyone “borrowed” any projectors from work or anything when we were told to take the things we’d need to set up our home office…
If these are the ones they sold during the Mehrathon, I’d suggest passing. They are pretty thin and sheer and transparent. They are "soft"ish but decidedly NOT sheets I would put into rotation. They’d be fine for your AirBNB or guest bed, but there are better options.
Like another poster, get the 500 threadcount cotton sateen sheets. Mmmmmm so soft and worth it.
Got meh sheets yesterday, don’t see what all the fuss is about. Seem fine for me. Nothing special about them but an extra set into rotation when you’re doing laundry in a mat, works for me
@Ignorant The tracking is odd. It says it was delivered to the Pitney Bowes facility in my town then says it was returned to another Pitney Bowes facility the same day. That was on 5/20 and nothing since. I’ve tried emailing and no response so far.
@ShellyRae67 yes the shipper is overwhelmed with deliveries right now but they are getting caught up. Your package is still in their network and will make its way to you.

No queen?
Country of origin?
Today I learned that microfiber basically just means polyester but it sounds fancier.
^^ Like mahi mahi instead of dolphin

My mom once said get 500+ thread count sheets at 100% cotton or you’re wasting your money. So… No deal.
@Chronicle Thread count is little more than marketing fluff. Anything higher than about 400 usually counts the different plies in each strand of thread as its own thread; e.g. 500 thread count is more likely 250-count made with 2-ply thread.
Where are they made?
@lonnyzone my guess the … CCP

@DrWorm bought your mom that necklace you hated.
No love for the Kings and Queens?
9 out of 10 ex-GFs preferred cotton sheets
The copywriter realised the thing that was on my mind all the way through the copy… that this was only “twin” or “full”. Well played, Meh, well played.
$4.36 with the pastadrop coups. My kids will love puking on these.
What sort of barbarian uses full-sized sheets?!
@UncleVinny
Yeah they’re definitely not too common these days. We used to have a full size bed with really nice hardwood foot & headboards, but we gave it away years ago to a family who needed it.

@Pamela I’d never met a barbarian in real life before, but…turns out they’re pretty nice. Hi!
@UncleVinny I put full-sized sheets on my dog’s bed. Does that count?
@ddbelyea as Depeche Mode taught us, “everything counts in large amounts”.
@ddbelyea Ha! And the part you get to share with your dog on ‘his’ bed is crib sized?
I bought 2 sets of these last time Meh had them up for sale. I ordered twin size sets & they shipped full size, which we can’t use. I’m still waiting to hear back from them about it and I’m hoping they still have 2 twin size sheet sets in black they can send me as a replacement. I like micro fiber sheets and could use another set!
Oh wait. No queen size? Boo.
“Microfiber” … no deal. Never gonna buy slimy polyester sheets. A claim that a product is “wicking” is always a warning sign that you’re being lied to.
Bought sheets last time. Won’t buy them again. They don’t fit the bed (twin) and they’re made of a material I can’t identify by touch. Yuck.
Just say no to polyester sheets
Sheet.
Thanks for the laugh when I noticed the model number.(when viewed on the front page, not the product specs.)
@mbenert LOL I missed that at first.
I wish the twin sized were Extra Long. Handy for college dorms and such

alas, no king size, no deal.

Beware, junk sheets
One can make a ton of masks with this:

https://www.joann.com/how-to-make-a-denim-face-mask/042188731P326.html
Bought two sets of these last time they were on sale. They are so thin they are translucent. Not a good buy at all.
Got meh sheets yesterday, don’t see what all the fuss is about. Seem fine for me. Nothing special about them but an extra set into rotation when you’re doing laundry in a mat, works for me
Never received mine.
@ShellyRae67 does the tracking on your orders page still show it in the shipping process?
@Ignorant The tracking is odd. It says it was delivered to the Pitney Bowes facility in my town then says it was returned to another Pitney Bowes facility the same day. That was on 5/20 and nothing since. I’ve tried emailing and no response so far.

Have not received my order according to tracking it is in Indianapolis some where.
My order was in a backlog of shipments. Be here soon.
My order came in with wrong size sheets
@Scompto Same.
Still not received my order. According to tracking, it’s sitting in a warehouse 5 MILES FROM MY HOUSE. Been there for 2 weeks.
