@chienfou I like them just fine. First couple of times I used them they paired very nicely and play in stereo together well. Volume seems to be more controlled by the actual units (in tandem, press one and both do what you ask), rather than they audio source like your phone.
Last time I was outside grilling I tried to use them and I couldn’t get them to pair. Reset both my phone and the speakers a couple times and no luck.
I haven’t tried since, but I’ll assume it was user error and hope they work next time.
Anyone know if you can use the mic function with an Echo Dot? To use my Gen 2 as a speaker phone I’d either need to move it to the center of the room (since I didn’t get a Vaux Portable Speaker that’s not easy or add a better, closer, mic - so potentially this.
These sound good, except that you can’t disable the…
“POWER ON! READY TO PAIR! PAIRED!!!” and eventually “POWER OFF!!”
You can switch it to a different language, or horrible sound effects, but not STFU entirely. Sofa king loud that it almost makes it not worth the sketchy nature of the Bluetooth capability.
Save your money! I got these last time, and when they’re Bluetoothed, they have big pauses of silence every couple minutes. Absolutely too annoying to use for audio books!
@retired44 You might check in with customer service instead of screaming at us. Unless it makes you feel better, then scream away. I live with teenagers, I’m used to it.
I’m gonna give these a go. My meh peeking turned into a little clickhole and we’re gonna pick up an easy-priced Jam BT turntable to pair with… The wife has been on me to get our LPs playing. Sooo…
Here’s the order bit: tireless-raging-texture. Take good care you all.
Just arrived today! I haven’t tried them yet, but the first thing I noticed is that one of the two has its rubberized coating on the base already starting to disintegrate and become sticky. Not a total dealbreaker as I can remove it with alcohol, but still annoying. I’m wondering why companies continue to use this material when it’s been known for years that it does this.
Just got mine a few days ago. Plain cardboard box packaging. Speakers look good as new. I just tried them today for the first time. Sound is far better than I expected. However, when paired in stereo, the slave unit plays intermittently cutting out randomly. The speakers are about 18" apart for this. I have swapped L and R and reset both speakers making the other speaker the primary and the original primary the slave. The intermittent play reoccurs on the new slave unit. I haven’t gone to the manufacturer website yet but I don’t see this in the Amazon reviews. Has anyone here experienced this?
@tweezak Ok…update. They seem to work perfectly with my iPhone. However, I want to use them as computer speakers and I’m sure not going to switch to an Apple computer just so I can use these speakers.
I took the cable from my Denon AH-D600 headphones that has a dedicated plug for each earpiece. I plugged that in my computer and each speaker et voila, they work great. So, it seems to be a bandwidth limitation or something about how Winblows handles the bluetooth connection that is causing the problem.
@tweezak One last thing…when set up using cables, I discovered that unlike in paired BT mode, the volume controls on each speaker work independently. My balance seemed way out until I realized this. I reduced both to zero output and then brought them up a click at a time together.
Now as I sit here listening to the last bars of Wish You Were Here playing out, I’m hearing buzzing in both speakers. I had them plugged to USB ports to keep the batteries charged and as soon as I unplugged those, they both became totally silent…of course they had to be turned back on to work. So, if you have a very electrically quiet USB charging source then you may be good, otherwise, run off battery until they go dead and then recharge. Turns out I have one good clean USB hub and a clean source from a power strip with USB charging ports in it. Everything finally seems to be working. Man, simple speakers and an external amp would have been so much simpler.
Sorry about all the long posts. I just want to save someone else the grief I’ve run into.
@tweezak my slave unit is doing the same thing…running from a Samsung s10e. I dont have an apple product to try them with.
For about the 1st 10 minute they work great, sound is awesome. They the slave unit gets echoey (is that a word)…and intermittently cuts out…very frustrating, but for under $20…meh
@jabird1999 I never ran the iPhone for more than a song at a time. Only on YouTube vids. I’ll never use it for music because I refuse to support the iTunes model that says you don’t really own the music you pay for. I’m just glad these speakers have 3.5mm plugs.
These don’t pair to each other as advertised and are too quiet to use solo. I reached out to Jam Plus about their 90 day warranty on refurbished items via email and was ignored. I reached out to Meh.com through the web site and was ignored. Jam plus is not answering their phones. I feel ripped off. Like, I understand I’m taking a risk on quality when I buy on meh, but I expect the things to either work as advertised or have their warranties honored. I am considering a chargeback through my credit card company.

Hey! Same ones I bought 2 months ago but 36% cheaper AND two new colors.
Well I’ll be!

@ecanada
Cool (you have them), Bummer (price drop)
How do you like them? Sound OK? Battery life tolerable? Stay paired well?

If two rolls were included, this would sell out faster than an IRK. Think about it Meh.
@hchavers very true, and you can use them as toilet paper stands as well.
Some things never change… Knives tomorrow night?
@sdb I hope so, and how about a real knife, no crappy steak or kitchen knives!

Maybe again for $2, but deffo not $12
@msayler They’re refurbs. Maybe that part won’t work.
@warpedrotors But mine were refurbs, too. Maybe that’s the problem!

Imma toot my own horn that I guessed the punchline of the joke today. …which means only that the writers are running out of ideas.
These little speakers are actually pretty nice.
In fact I’ll buy three more sets. Will make for nice gifts.

@Bandrik I have no idea how this gif was selected, but I’m going to leave it because GOATS!
What’s with all the blue tooth speakers? It’s like every other day now!!!
You do remember the website you are looking at right?
Save your money! I got these last time, and when they’re Bluetoothed, they have big pauses of silence every couple minutes. Absolutely too annoying to use for audio books!
How are the highs?
I actually have use for a couple so…

@retired44 @sammydog01 Well Said, Sammy. Hah!
low-latency on these? Useless if audio out of sync with video.
Will these play while still plugged into a charger?
These should do fine as quick and easy camper tv speakers.

4.1 stars on whamazon, these are refurbs, does that mean they get 2.05 stars here?
Last four digits of phone number would be 2412. (2 for $12)
These are way more tiny than that last pic would imply…
2 for $12 great price. No longer sold by JAM, to find support see their legacy archive. Way better than:
and that price is for one speaker!

I’m super disappointed that giphy refused to give me anything filthy.

Going to be dating a woman who likes music after social distancing is over. I have nothing for music, no speakers, nada. Meh is saving my love life.
Oh what the heck, never tried separately pairing stereo Bluetooth speakers before. In for a pair. Heh, a pun!
/image lovely-infamous-boot
sound decent in Mono, stereo get crackling in Right channel no matter which speaker is set L/R
@username mine too, so they’re basically useless in Stereo mode.
Can’t go wrong for $12 bucks. Hopefully they still work by summer when I want to use in my backyard.
