@unksol you don’t think outside the box much do you?? I plug 40 of these together and charge my cell phone in 2 minutes. It also heats my house tremendously in those 2 minutes.
@Jonas4321 this is true for me, then I met friends who always bring their power banks but forget their cables who claimed this power bank was a life saver…
they usually are the kind that only own one cable, bring it everywhere they go, and their cables are close to fraying.
@Anyer@therealjrn Mediocre Corporation marketing is vastly different from merely good marketing departments. They may have many reasons for selling 2 at a time, or not. They never even implied they would try very hard.
In fact, with a brand name like Meh, they have implied they don’t try hard.
Steep cost $$$ of learning having to purchase another iPhone after killing the first one by using a nonapple charger. Who knew! It may be fine for other smartphone products though.
@denisemcfa Badly made wall chargers often lack critical safety features. If any single component in a good wall charger fails, the charger will simply stop working. Some bad chargers fail such that the 120 volts from the wall makes it all the way to the phone. Most phones can’t handle 120 volts where they expect 5 volts.
Badly made power banks can’t fail that way. It isn’t uncommon for them to fail such that the battery voltage ends up on the USB port, but the nominal 3.7 volts won’t damage the 5 volt input on the phone.
Fakespot says the reviews on Amazon are mostly legit and the good far outweighs the bad. No AC charger, a little on the heavy side. 8000 mAh is a little small for me considering the weight and the bulk. However if the specs suit you and you have a charger for this (Micro USB or Type C) you shouldn’t be sorry.
I don’t know about you, but micro usb tips always get worn out and eventually don’t fit tightly. I’ve even tried to pry the two little “teeth” up again so it stays in the port. Seems like a flaw in having permanent cords attached.
I’m having trouble getting this to charge. Plug it in, the charging lights flash for a few minutes and then turn off and evidently charging is stopped? Anyone have any ideas?
@mandirose OK I figured it out. It’s a nonstandard USB plug and even though it plugs in either way, it only charges when plugged in one specific way. Oy. There’s no indicator on the plug as to which way is up.
For some reason the MicroUSB charging port didn’t work for me on either one. One of the LEDs would just flash once, and then stop. Plugging in the USB-A cable worked fine.

I really don’t need any more power banks, but I am tired of my partner losing my charging cords. What to do . . .
@shampshire, sometimes it’s just time to move on.
@flehm @shampshire Yeah, might be time for a more responsible partner.
Looks like the weight of 0.41 pounds is for one, not for the two pack. (Or 0.43 as listed on another site.)
@bigmeh Yes, product weight is for a singular one. They go on to say it’s a two-pack in the box.
A jack of all trades is good at none, but it sure looks geeky cool.
OMG dumbest thing I have seen
@unksol apparently you haven’t seen much.
@unksol are you new here?
@unksol How is a power bank dumb? I use them to charge my insulin pump, so technically they are life saving.
@unksol you don’t think outside the box much do you?? I plug 40 of these together and charge my cell phone in 2 minutes. It also heats my house tremendously in those 2 minutes.
I love power packs with built-in cables. Price is just ok… I saw another one on Amazon for $18… It can wait.
@rmeden But this is $14 each. It can’t wait! (Unless you really want to wait for it to drop in price the next time it’s listed.)
Built in cords equals deal killer for me. I like to be able to replace cables if they get broken or wear out. Never had a USB A socket get worn out…
@Jonas4321 this is true for me, then I met friends who always bring their power banks but forget their cables who claimed this power bank was a life saver…

The last picture should have been the REAL advertisement.
/buy
@bigkiskewl Sorry, this deal contains 2 unique items and I’m not sure which one you want. You can review how to pick one, or just try ordering from the checkout page.
/giphy joey how you doin
Good to know it (they?) come pre-charged, right?
I would love to get a power bank with integrated cables. But alas, my phone case makes it so that most lightning cables now (like these) do not fit.
@katbyter Get a new phone case. Or an X-Acto blade…
Why can’t I buy just one?
@Anyer You have poor impulse control?
@therealjrn
Haha Not what I meant, let me rephrase: why can’t I buy only one for 14 dls?

What’s the connector that looks like the ship from War of the Worlds?
@FightingMongoos Micro USB
those rockworks ones you sold were way better…at least they had a built in plug for wall charging…
@fastharrydotcom Seconded. I have the “ROCKZ 5000MAH” ones and love them due to the wall plug
Two-for-Monday?
@Euniceandrich LOL hey I thought the same thing!
Steep cost $$$ of learning having to purchase another iPhone after killing the first one by using a nonapple charger. Who knew! It may be fine for other smartphone products though.
@denisemcfa It does state the lightning cable is Mfi certified on these. Really shouldn’t be an issue for an iPhone.

@kirkslaw they should come precharged so it might just be full? Are all 4 dots flashing when you’re charging it? If so that should mean a full charge
@mandirose Nope. Two dots flash and then stop after a couple of minutes. I left it plugged in overnight and no additional charge.
@mandirose OK I figured it out. It’s a nonstandard USB plug and even though it plugs in either way, it only charges when plugged in one specific way. Oy. There’s no indicator on the plug as to which way is up.
