I got these some other time they were available. They work great if you have kids in the back seat with tablets. Absolute life saver for long road trips.
Only complaint is the front plug is a little short/small so sometimes takes a second to seat correctly in the 12v socket.
@SnakeJG I agree, these are great. We don’t have a land-barge SUV so they reach to the backseat with no problem. The modules do get a bit hot, so have that expectation. Otherwise, no issues.
@werehatrack So I did some math. The Galaxy Tab S8 has an 8,000 mAh 3.7 volt battery, so 29.7 Wh. At 2.1 amp and 5 volts, the charger delivers 10.5 W. So it can charge the Galaxy Tab S8 in 3 hours. It won’t recharge it while you run to the store, but if your kids are in the back seat on a road trip, it is plenty of power to keep them in games the whole time.
The latest iPads have 28.6 Wh batteries, so the math is the same for them.
As long as the tablet can last for at least 3 hours of usage, this can keep it topped off indefinitely.
The save icon thing is kinda fun to think about. It stopped making sense well before floppies went away (but after they stopped being floppy!), and the majority of files were saved to internal hard drives, but it’s universally recognized as indicating ‘this button will save your file’. What would you change it to, other than the word ‘save’, that would be as ubiquitously sensible?
@Aspirant_Fool Same with the “phone handset” icon for making phone calls, it’s unique enough that people will associate it with the action even if most phones don’t look like that any more. Otherwise it would just be a mouth next to a rectangle or something.
New campaign “Save the save icon” Growing up,# meant number, then it meant pound sign on your phone, and then it became a hashtag. What’s next for the venerable symbol? Bad enough I had to download an acronym dictionary to decipher incoming texts.Smokers…use your lighter proudly Bring back flip top removable ash trays in the door handles Bring back the front tip window And lastly, put the F’n dimmer switch back on the dead pedal where it belongs damn it Throw the new generation in that car,and enjoy the look of confusion and befuddlement on their faces for a change
@eagerbeaver Yes The one you could open from outside when you locked your keys in the car.Great on rainy days as windshield defogger.Oh how I miss those
@detailer@eagerbeaver The tip window was the one in the front corner of the door that you could “tip” open to vent outside air in to force inside air out. Also known as “fart windows”.
@eagerbeaver@mike808 Right Also, not available as standard or optional equipment, was the suicide knob. You could get a ticket for one in my day. Though I never could figure out how to attach one to my saddle
This has to be one of my favorite write-ups that I’ve seen on Meh. Of course, that might be because I’m old enough to have first hand knowledge of what all the anachronisms mean!
Aduro Products’ own product information page does not show the info, including the Manual tab. Might Meh or any current owner know or have access to the manual know if the product is tested/certified by any product safety agency, e.g. UL?
I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me. That very thin-looking gauge cable to the extended 3-USB-A-port portion does not seem like it can sustain a continuous 6.3 A current without, uh, melting , catching fire , etc.?
@bartsimpson good points. I went and checked on mine, it looks like the total power is limited (also possible mine has different specs or is a slightly different version). Here’s the specs from the back of my unit:

@SnakeJG I was thinking more like if you drive Uber or Lyft…

2.1A is so 2008. PD this is not. They’re okay for your Galaxy S5, meh for an S7, sub-meh for S9 or later, pointless for any recent iPad.

I don’t mean to be judgy, but y’all sell some really weird sex toys.
@alacrity Hey, don’t be harshing really weird sex now.
@alacrity This remark is supposed to be WHAT???
Get a life.
@alacrity Just remember, it’s illegal to have more than 6 toys in Texas.
@ACustomer hitting a sensitive spot, evidently.
it’s cool- we don’t judge here.

@Aspirant_Fool @awk You can’t use mouth next to a rectangle, that’s part of my upcoming “feed me a cracker” app.
@Aspirant_Fool Superman’s insignia
Plug me in and charge me up, baby.
@hchavers you want front or back this time?
Cant send to Alaska. meh

@detailer front tip window === wing window?

@detailer @eagerbeaver @mike808 As teens, we always referred to those as “Brodie knobs”.

This is what they were for:

Do you think The Situation took my chargers???
@Torumsie Click on the question mark up top, select Support, and explain the problem.
@werehatrack thank you! I did yesterday and just waiting for their reply, figured it wouldn’t hurt to shout in the dark though.
