@jmbunkin It’s the lasting power (or more accurately the LACK thereof) of AAA over AA that takes the edge off the deal for me, though I really like the clamp thingie.
@davidwr99 Thanks for the video! The swivel head wasn’t mentioned in the description. But once Cameron from Modern Family did the “bright idea” nonsense I wanted to punch him in the face so hard, and he only got worse after that! QVC goons.
They seem to be on Morning Save already at 2 for $8. I’m a bit curious whether they’ll get an extra listing as a Daybreak Special later this morning, but probably not curious enough to remember to check.
I have a CAT CT1000 Pocket one. It’s great, even though it also runs on AAA batteries. It’s skinny, bright, and can clip it to your shirt (like a pen) to free your hands. It was like $10, but it has been more helpful than holding flashlights.
In for 4,Fastidious-Sporty-Whistle, OK What gives the Amazon description says its 150 lumens, the HSN company rep says on high its 236 lumens, I would think he knows best and Meh says its 650 lumens , Ok lets hear the explanation please, ty in advance either or with all the variables ,clamps hooks batteries red flasher,cob Led’s and 4 bucks each delivered, its a steal …ty team Meh another great find WOWZER !!!
@mellowirishgent HSN hawker said the end light is 150 lumens while the front/worklight is 236 lumens.
It’s a 2-pack, so some mediocre writer added them all up (ignoring the inability to actually turn on both lights at the same time), arrived at 772 lumens and said “772?! That’s terrible copy; let’s use 650 instead.”
Ever since I sold Dorcy flashlights at the auto parts store I pronounced this brand as “Dorky”. That’s how I would feel of I bought them. Less than Meh
@tightwad - I have two Dorcy gooseneck flashlights that I’ve relied on for years, I wear them almost every day, they’re great, you can hang them around your neck and twist them into position to work hands-free. And they take 3 AA batteries…
The 9th picture shows a tiny array of antennae that pops out of the back for emergency transmissions, or to listen for aliens. I’m in …
/giphy springy-tasteful-hippopotamus
I don’t know why I keep buying all the flashlights. Our electricity goes out all the time, but my husband forgets where he puts the things and so we are always in the dark anyway. I guess I live in hope.
@ripper69 - Get one of those baseball-bat-type flashlights - it’ll be easier to find and when you do you can whack him with it for forgetting where he put it.
Several times in the past Costco has sold “emergency” lights with lithium ion batteries and you leave them plugged into a wall receptacle, always charged up.
When the power goes out, they automatically turn on.
We have four of two types and even the older, 2009 versions still work like a charm.
Difficult to lose them when they are permanently plugged in at four locations in our home.
@RedOak I have those also- they are excellent for power outages, as you have immediate light, and the battery lasts for several hours. Mine (also from Costco) can also be set to turn on at nightfall/off at daybreak, great for our guest bathroom!
@RedOak Exactly. I was just basing numbers off one order, not adding any extras. Technically you could pay $4.83 each if you order 6 and don’t have free shipping. Absolutely worth it in my opinion.
Ordered these last time and they’re surprisingly nice, especially with all the ways to stick/clamp/hang them. Plenty bright and well worth a couple of bucks. Plus this may be the best order phrase I’ve ever received:
@Kerig3 I don’t know, it does have pretty good rebound all things considered. That was the first gif that giphy returned. Figured it wouldn’t get much better and I wasn’t about to try for a second.
Suggestion for Meh - include something in the pics for scale when you have a generic item like this. The thumbtacks sort of help on this one… but consider something like a can of soup - the possibilities for humorous labels are endless…
@Pufferfishy Meh used to…well…meh used to do a lot of things. One of things they have done in the past is to include the standard banana for scale. Failing that, the dimensions of the product are frequently in the specs up there. In this case:
Initially hesitant about the triple-A battery size and the short run time that entails… but hell, I bought a bunch of Lucas AAAs on sale not long ago…
/buy
@accumulator I bought the Super Charger on a 2 fer deal a few years ago and since then i get approx 5-7 extra cycles on all my batteries …one of the best investments ever on Meh.
I got the red ones last time and I’ve had a hard time keeping them away from my youngest. In for more so that some can wander off with kids. I found them quite useful, especially all of the different attachment methods.
/giphy destroyed-mundane-brake
Yay, finally something to spend one of my trivia coupons on.
In for 2 (x2) - only want one for myself but want to give 2 to my mom who needs a new flashlight for home and one for her car. I guess I’ll find someone else to gift the 4th one to.
/giphy combative-sporty-frankenstein
Decided to get a pair of green and red (for Xmas! no, not really). Had to wait for the 11AM EST re-opening as I hit the sleepy-window “pause” while I was trying to check out earlier. I don’t expect these to be super-rugged but I do like the clamp feature, like for clamping on pipes in a basement. For professional-grade stuff I love the Milwaukee lights on their M12 and M18 system, but the good ones start at about $60, and go up to over $300, which will light up a large area, usually intended for commercial construction. So I don’t expect that much of these $4 ones, but hey, they are $4, and other lights of this type I’ve had give out pretty good light.
I bought several of these the last time around. I work as an auto mechanic, and go through a surprising amount of flashlights; they get dropped, run over, and… many just go away somewhere. These are surprisingly nice lights for the price; nice and bright, have both a magnetic and clip mount, swivel so the light is where you need it. they even come with batteries. They go nicely with those 48 packs of AAA batteries Meh has occasionally.
the only annoyance is having to click the on/off button several times to turn it off; it cycles through all 4 light modes before turning off.
I ordered these When they came I took the paper piece of the battery and the battery started overheating and they get really hot so I turned it off it never came on just a flicker and now I need to know what to do I will not put batteries in them I can send them back
@rickfriday Same happened to me.
Only one battery got hot. The spring terminal that the negative end of the battery makes contact with had been squashed flat. Like someone had pushed the battery down on that end, instead of sliding that end against the spring and pushing down the positive end - know what I mean?
Anyway, I straightened out the spring as best I could, reinstalled the batteries and tested it out and it didn’t heat up again.
I’ve yet to check out the other 3 lights I got with my order, but I intend to.
Take a look at the spring terminals in yours, see if they’re deformed.
Could just be a simple fix.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Must say i love this item,glad I bought 4 of them, from the clamp to the swivel adjustment,high,low,red,strobe, this light has it all the COB led’s are in one word “Blinding” wow very bright, and the magnet actually supports the weight of the flashlight.Feel like I received an extreme bargain here.This is a $15-$20 dollar unit all day long in my humble opinion.
@mellowirishgent Check your batteries - there are at least two cases of them getting very hot (mine being one of them).
I’m pretty sure the cause, in my case, was a squashed spring terminal.
Still haven’t checked on the other 3 flashlights I got, but I definitely will before using them.
I LOVE these flash/work lights! They feel like they’re pretty well made. They’re bright and with the magnet/clamp attachment, they’re pretty useful. I bought six and I’ll buy more if they go on sale again.
Even since the Woot! days, I’ve never found myself in this situation, but I have some questions:
Did these sell out?
If not, how can I buy more?
That’s all really, I just want moar of these flashlights!
Had occasion to use mine for the first time yesterday and, even though I knew in theory they looked useful, in practice it was the best thing evar!
Was doing some rewiring in my home studio in a very awkward spot.
Luckily, this spot was underneath a metal drawer, so I was able to stick the flashlight to it, angle and rotate it, and the wide-beam setting lit up the work area perfectly.
I was at that point that I said to myself, “holy shit, there are a bunch of people I need to gift these to.”
Auto mechanics, pro (or hobby) audio engineers, plumbers, electricians…
Anyone who works in tight, dark spaces needs one of these in their tool bag.
So, yeah, where/how can I buy like, 10 more of these?

You had me - so ready to click. I get free rechargeable AA batteries. AAA I do not. No deal. Would have loved the green.
@meh427
How?
@mwarren - for batteries; I do photo verification for a few companies I work for. They give me free cameras and free batteries.
Work? No thanks
These are 5 bucks each at a popular retail outlet that rhymes with “Jive Below.”
@lowlypeon My “Jive” light just broke, so I’m going to give the Meh lights a try.
@lowlypeon Jive Turkey!
AAA kills the deal.
Agreed…AA all the way…
Add these to my substantial flashlight collection.
AAA batteries at .30 each does not scare me off because I’m a fool with that kind of money
@jmbunkin It’s the lasting power (or more accurately the LACK thereof) of AAA over AA that takes the edge off the deal for me, though I really like the clamp thingie.
@jmbunkin Sunbeams are 10 for a buck in the dollar store
@davidwr99 TY David this video sold me on the product…the company rep states the lumens are 236 at maximum brightness not 650 as Meh states
@davidwr99 Thanks for the video! The swivel head wasn’t mentioned in the description. But once Cameron from Modern Family did the “bright idea” nonsense I wanted to punch him in the face so hard, and he only got worse after that! QVC goons.
@davidwr99 “Maybe you’re out of oil.”
@davidwr99 the video sold me too. Meh should post these because it really helps sell the product.
“means they your robot assistants” Glad they your robot masters are not.
I keep reading it as “Glowing Testicles,” and I have no one to blame but myself.
Dammit @TheFLP now that’s all I see.
If these aren’t worth $4 each, I’ll be very surprised. /giphy healthy-silent-quartz
@Superllama7 Tip: the /giphy needs to start on its own line like so.
/giphy healthy-silent-quartz
@narfcake thanks! I was too tired to try and figure it out
They seem to be on Morning Save already at 2 for $8. I’m a bit curious whether they’ll get an extra listing as a Daybreak Special later this morning, but probably not curious enough to remember to check.
@gertiestn If they are on Morning Save I can order there and save 80 cents. LOL

These work pretty good, especially for $4. Now how much were they the last time I bought them?
@warpedrotors 4 for $16 last time
@cinoclav @warpedrotors so cheaper this time. Lower minimum quantity buy requirement counts as cheaper.
@RedOak @warpedrotors True for those of us with free shipping. Otherwise, average cost went up $1.25 each.
@cinoclav @warpedrotors except if you only need 1 or 2.
$16 + $5 = $21
$8 + $5 = $13

I love LED flashlight deals. In for three to get RGB!

How do these compare to the IdeaWorks ones? I have two of those (they also use 3 AAA), and I use one everyday. I love them. Are these similar?

@cinoclav Well thats not very firm at all!
(thanking the GIF gods tho’)
@Kerig3 I don’t know, it does have pretty good rebound all things considered. That was the first gif that giphy returned. Figured it wouldn’t get much better and I wasn’t about to try for a second.
@Kerig3 I have to agree with @cinoclav. A virtuously firm ass is not without bounce. Indeed, as noted, the rebound suggests much, ahem, virtue.
What version Bluetooth do these use?
@therealjrn v0.0
@Kerig3 @therealjrn Doesn’t matter - I ordered the red ones.
@Kerig3 @MrJazz Are the red ones more better?
