@opshannon Actually, these are pretty awesome for kids... and aren't too bad of headphones to boot... Not amazing, but for $12 for a pair... definitely worth it for kids.
@opshannon I also like the 808 Duo's sound quality but the Bluetooth drops out frequently just from my head to my phone in my pants pocket depending on the position of my body...
@nogoodwithnames I got these the first time they were offered. The headband on mine broke after only 2 weeks of careful use. :( It feels like that giant text is mocking me.
Anyway, Polk won't honor their warranty for those who care. Not that it's even worth sending back a $12 item. (Though for those who paid $24 the first time, it might've been)
I bought a pair of these last time. Unfortunately, (for these headphones at least) I think unbreakable and comfortable are mutually exclusive. And these are unbreakable (so far).
@phb@canuk yeah i wouldn't know ... they've been sitting in the trunk of my car, i keep forgetting to take pictures of them for E-bay.
when i first got them i had some trouble getting them back together when swapping the ear pad colors or whatever. not sure if that's the kind of trouble people are having.
as for the sound, part of the issue i'm guessing is they dont seem very well designed acoustically, the foam rubber or plastic or whatever is pretty dense so i remember them sounding a bit hollow. all in all these things seem designed for people who care how their headphones look rather than sound....
I got two last time for teens who had broken every other pair. One broke within a couple of weeks. Sound is fine, comfort isn't bad, and they certainly seemed flexible and durable.
You people are crazy. I use these for everything except comfortable listening. Running, walking, jogging, biking, gym time, even wore them snowboarding for the first time and they are AMAZING. If you do anything other than sit on your ass and you hate ear buds because they do nothing but fall out, I would highly recommend them. After a bit they break in and the ear cushions become quite comfortable. Also, the drivers themselves take a bit to break in but once they do they are clearly equal to my mid-range sony cans [MDR-V150], and creep up to MDR-V6 levels if the source is good.
I would absolutely love to know how one can break these headphones in any way other than losing parts because of carelessness. I find the idea patently absurd, as its all soft plastic. If you can break these headphones, then you have some serious life issues you need to address.
Do not buy these. I did last time. Despite being described as "comfortable," they are actually painful to wear. The band clamps way too tight, and the earpieces don't swivel in any way. Especially bad if you wear glasses. There's a reason they're unloading them at this price. You'll regret it.
I bought these last time; the sound was so muddy I gave one away and brought one in to the office where I'm going to use it once a month or so to listen to voice messages on the computer. I would consider the sound quality absolutely unlistenable for anything other than phone-quality voice in short bursts. (I suppose it's possible that mine were defective, since I see other people saying they found them adequate. They definitely had some bass, but the audio I listen to has more in it than just bass.)
I got these last time. I would describe them as... idiosyncratic. But I think they're well worth $12 a pop, and I don't think I got ripped off at the $22 I paid for them -- they're just... weird headphones.
However! One of the ears quit working very recently.
I emailed Polk Audio and eventually heard back from them. They offered to replace them, but they didn't have any Boom Swaps available so they're sending me a Hinge. I expect it in a few days.
So what I'm saying is, if they do break Polk are apparently ready to make things right for you.
UPDATE: I just got another email from Polk saying they would not be sending the replacement after all because meh.com is not an authorized reseller, so I hope nobody bought one on the strength of my recommendation here.
@Thumperchick So by the time that guy told me they wouldn't send me a replacement, a different support guy had already sent it out and it came in the mail today :D
I like mine so far. They're a bit heavy on the bass, but they're perfect for the gym (especially when you're blaring hip hop and rock). The foam on-ear pads are comfortable enough for me, but I've never been picky about it. Hope this helps.

@AttyVette huh, did somebody call for me? Spelled wrong so guess not :P
@AttyVette Were you funny before the accident?
Boom boom no no
Do you have something other than headphones in your warehouse?
@einrad they have knives and speaker docks.
@sjk3 and some fuku bags to bundle them together.
Swap from many different colors (no purple)
That list price is absurd
@PenguinOnTheRox it is, though it's the one on Amazon, too.
noooooo
These are amazingly shitty like all the other headphones and earbuds sold on Meh, right?
@opshannon the panasonics were nice, and the polk ones sound pretty good, and the able planet are ok for workhorses... but... um... yea probably.
@opshannon the 808s were pretty good.
@thismyusername
Been there. Bought these. If you have one ear, they're great!
@opshannon Wife loves her Steelseries
@opshannon Actually, these are pretty awesome for kids... and aren't too bad of headphones to boot... Not amazing, but for $12 for a pair... definitely worth it for kids.
@opshannon i love the polk audio hinge ones. they look and sound great for thirty-eight bucks.
@opshannon I also like the 808 Duo's sound quality but the Bluetooth drops out frequently just from my head to my phone in my pants pocket depending on the position of my body...
I take that giant text on the box proclaiming their unbreakability as a challenge.
@nogoodwithnames I got these the first time they were offered. The headband on mine broke after only 2 weeks of careful use. :( It feels like that giant text is mocking me.

@lemonswithsalt Same. Very brittle. Too bad; they had decent sound (at least to me)
Got these the last time... They keep crushing my head.
@Aquaman
I got nothing to say. Well OK, something.
Yet again, would actually consider if it was one for $12. Do not want two. My MVP lapsed a few months ago and I have yet to regret it.
@djdedd split an order with someone else, then you've got 1 for $12
if the pair that doesn't exist existed then just perhaps I would of potentially bought them but alas you disappoint me
turbulent-mute-zipper
My household has a cat that likes to chew on plastic cords and a pre-teen who destroys headphones. These are perfect.
Still waiting for more $12 radar detectors....getting real tired of having to swap out my only $12 detector between my / my wife's car :|
These are the current JBL speaker dock, they will never sell out or go away. It's like Groundhog Day!
On the fence... If I could mix-and-match my two-pack by color (eg one black one mint, etc) I'd do it. Maybe next Tuesday.
So many color options, so little purple.
Pretty sure I bought these before. Wonder what I did with them? Probably in the stack with all the others...
I bought a pair of these last time. Unfortunately, (for these headphones at least) I think unbreakable and comfortable are mutually exclusive. And these are unbreakable (so far).
@canuk @JonJon I remember reading the complaints of how uncomfortable these were from the last time they sold them.
Seems like if someone found them comfy, they were broken in a week.
@phb @canuk yeah i wouldn't know ... they've been sitting in the trunk of my car, i keep forgetting to take pictures of them for E-bay.

@JonJon so beats customers then, got it! Hey does your last name start with T?
@mehdaf haha beats customers are probably more discerning.
not a t. would you like to buy a vowel? lol
Painful to wear and so-so sound.
I want to love these but everyone keeps taking a big meh on them
I got two last time for teens who had broken every other pair. One broke within a couple of weeks. Sound is fine, comfort isn't bad, and they certainly seemed flexible and durable.
They need a high MSRP for headphones due to the high overhead design. Get it? overhead-over ear? Get it?
@radi0j0hn no
My 15 year-old daughter likes hers, so I would agree that they're good headphones for kids and non-brand-whore teenagers.
What? You have to get 2 of the same color? Way to limit the swapping potential.

@abear why do you wear headphones while snowboarding? Aren't you worried about not being able to hear someone uphill of you?
My ($22-for-one) pair of these just snapped in half at the slightest of provocations. So much for "nearly indestructible."
Do not buy these. I did last time. Despite being described as "comfortable," they are actually painful to wear. The band clamps way too tight, and the earpieces don't swivel in any way. Especially bad if you wear glasses. There's a reason they're unloading them at this price. You'll regret it.
Enough with the headphones, ugly watches and those flying thingies, with or without camera ....

Meh. But I did appreciate the Living Colour quote.

@edheil Polk really needs to knock that off. If you would, please message meh.com/support and let them know what's going on with Polk.
@Thumperchick Just forwarded the offending email to support, thanks very much for looking into it!
@Thumperchick So by the time that guy told me they wouldn't send me a replacement, a different support guy had already sent it out and it came in the mail today :D
@edheil Awesome! I'm glad they ended up taking care of you after all.
Broke immediately. Good for goodwill only.

Welp says unbreakable but one of mine the headband snapped.
@stofers Hit up Polk for warranty coverage.
