@werehatrack Ooh, yeah! And a window breaker/seatbelt cutter too! I mean, you’ll probably keep this thing in your car, right? It should include important safety features!
Thankfully they thought to include some sort of bag to store all this crap in. I’m guessing it’s a simple drawstring sack but at least you’ll be able to keep up with all the tiny parts that go with this thing… maybe…
Just wanted to let everyone know that the word parsec is far far older than Star Wars. Like 1913 old.
Also, in Star Wars, they used it as a unit of time/speed instead of distance - which it actually is.
@Adamamesh
It is used as a measure of length in Star Wars not time. There is no definitive proof they meant time or distance when it was first said, but over the years it has been used as distance. It is referenced in Solo showing Han used a gravity well shortcut on the Kessel Run to cut the normal distance of 20 parsecs to 12 parsecs.
@mehwilldelete I’m GenX, dude - I saw the original movie, not any of the additional revisionist films. In a New Hope he said “It’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs”, and it was clear in that movie that it was meant to be pseudo techy terms to try to impress Old Ben
@Adamamesh@mehwilldelete Yep, author AC Crispin first described that in Rebel Dawn, one of the Han Solo Trilogy books, in 1998. Then they decided all the amazing books we’d gotten weren’t canon anymore (just ‘Legends’ ) But kept the ‘Kessel Run measured in distance because of the black holes of The Maw’ idea.
@werekong And the pressure range and type of air chuck makes it perfect for bikes with Schrader valves, or for Prestas with an adapter. (We do not discuss the antiquated and arcane Dunlop valves.)

@mediocrebot This one is really good. I feel the oppression of it all.
@cfg83 I thought it was pretty striking too; that’s the way books are pressed when you bind them, so that part is accurate.
For old time’s sake…

Meh. Needs to also be a power bank and speaker.
@Pony And it needs a knife sharpener. Why does no one ever think to include a knife sharpener in these multifunction devices?
@werehatrack Ooh, yeah! And a window breaker/seatbelt cutter too! I mean, you’ll probably keep this thing in your car, right? It should include important safety features!
@Pony and a flashlight and a water bottle
It Must Be Said.
For making margaritas, this sucks.
@werehatrack word. I saw some reviews and I guess it blows (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ☞
Melencolia 1
@tweezak was she one of the first wives?
@pmarin ?? That’s what this engraving has been unofficially titled (because it’s written in the image…duh). It’s old. 1514 I think I read.
I thought Parsecs was a unit of measure in Star Wars. At least the gizmo looks like a space gun.

@mediocrebot It’s good, but I prefer the OG Buster Crabbe version of Buck Rogers.
Sucks or blows?
/youtube SNL Chevy Chase weekend update no you don’t really blow
Sorry, didn’t get the clip I was looking for.
Looks like there should be an opportunity with this device to add an attachment to make it a percussion massager as well.
I was looking to get another tire inflater to keep in my other car and this one has a vacuum too. For this price I’ll give it a shot.

How did they not include a Millennium Falcon reference…
@acerobinson1 Yeah, right?!?!? Talk about low hanging fruit.
Thankfully they thought to include some sort of bag to store all this crap in. I’m guessing it’s a simple drawstring sack but at least you’ll be able to keep up with all the tiny parts that go with this thing… maybe…

@Adamamesh if its clear “it was meant to be pseudo techy terms” than how is that proof it was used for time? It doesn’t.
Big “get off my lawn” energy from you old man.
You would have been what 12-13 at the OLDEST if you are gen-x? Must have been a core memory for you.
@Adamamesh @mehwilldelete
But parsnips, they’re entirely different.
(Careful at a barbershop, though.)
@mehwilldelete
@phendrick im gen x kid
@mehwilldelete I had no doubt
@phendrick how is my math off off, gen x is earliest 65 and the movie came out in 77
@mehwilldelete @phendrick
This debate reminds me of the classic Joan Baez (Diamonds & Rust) misuse of “light years” to indicate time…

@Adamamesh @kytyn @mehwilldelete Should be a joke about “canon fodder” in there somewhere.
Interesting combo. A high pressure pump is mechanically a very different device than a high volume blower.
Is this one of those items that does so many random things that it does none of them very well? Jack of all trades, master of none?
@pheaton I suspect that both of us would prefer not to buy one to find out.
Should add calculator

What happened to my post asking if AI was correct in saying that this was not suitable for bicycle tires?
@werekong You posted it in the Compression Sleeves thread:

The Thing just doesn’t look right. Loocks like something from RonCo in the 90’s!
@dahobbs9 It does have a certain “As Seen On TV!” vibe about it. I have never had an air mattress pump that was also a good tire pump, nor vice versa.

@mediocrebot meh. Close enough. I guess that’s par for the course for Meh.com.
