@Kidsandliz that sounds more like a meh offering complaint than a meh gender offering complaint

@Pantheist All many women want (see previous threads) is the opportunity to buy socks similar to all zillions of men’s sock offerings sold. So it is a gender complaint. Also these are not socks so there is still no gender equality with sock offerings (not to mention the mediocre socks sent to VMP’s were only men’s as well and one would have though it would have occurred to meh that some of us here are not men - since they special ordered those there was no excuse for that oversight). Also socks made out of that material means sweating, wet feet (since they are not absorbent) and at least most of the time the men’s socks had a decent % cotton content.

@Kidsandliz that was too long for me to read, but I can tell you tell you the men’s socks I’ve gotten through meh were significantly worse than the women’s socks I bought for about ~$1 pair from walmart. At least one set of men’s socks that were sold here were by the same brand, so I’d expect similar quality, These socks would be hard pressed to be worse than those.

@Kidsandliz and these are absolutely socks. I buy socks to keep my shoes from smelling like absolute garbage. These will work for that purpose. If you want quality socks, regardless of gender, you’re in the wrong place.

Ya dashed my hopes – socks please, not anklets or peds or wtf these are. Not interested in cold ankles.

@danpritts they are way too big!!! A men’s size 8 shoe is a woman’s 10 and the majority of women have smaller than a size 10 foot. So wearing men’s socks means either a bunch of fabric bunched up in the toe or the heel is well above your heel.

@medz She’s right. Actually, for footies (what these are) you can get them for less.

@medz I’ve worn those cheap socks from Walmart & they are terribly thin. They provide no padding & are easily ruined in one wearing.

@medz i like the dollar socks from target. they’re all i wear. lots of fun prints to choose from & they last me a long time. (not sure why people are saying these aren’t socks & don’t know what ‘peds’ are.) so since i’d have to pay shipping on this deal, it’s not a good deal for me, either.

@cengland0 I wore neon pink and yellow socks while welding on nuclear subs. They’re technically my wife’s socks, but if they fit and they’re clean they work.

@Tadlem43 i have never heard the word ‘footies.’ they’re socks. to be more specific, ankle socks. shorter than that, no-show socks. just like other socks - crew, knee, thigh high, etc. socks socks socks.

@jerk_nugget Maybe it’s a regional thing. I don’t know. We always called them ‘footies’. I suppose that technically you’re right, if your definition of a sock is just something made of cloth that covers your feet, but for practical use, these aren’t socks.

@Tadlem43 what other definition of sock is there? i’m legitimately lost. what does ‘for practical use’ mean? i do housekeeping and also assist in running a club night. i’m on my feet a lot. these are the kind of socks i wear. i don’t use them for decoration. are you implying crew socks are the only ‘real’ socks? just genuinely curious. (also fwiw born & raised in new england (northeast US).)

I don’t really care, but my point was that I would like to see socks with cuffs, preferably crew socks, instead of these. It seems that I’m not the only one, nor the only one that doesn’t consider these to be socks. If you do, and if you want to order them, then by all means do so and call them tomatoes for all that I care. lol

@Tadlem43 that’s why i noted where i was from. i find things like that interesting, is all. for instance, a bootie is a soft shoe that babies wear, where i’m from. i’m not really concerned about it & i don’t want to order these, just bored on the internet waiting for a proof to be sent to me. /shrug

@jerk_nugget Ah… well, I live in TX and have no idea what they call them here. It just doesn’t come up in conversation…but I can ask. I grew up in the SE and we called them ‘footies’. That was a long time ago, so maybe they call them socks now. To me, socks have a cuff, even if a short one. Yea, booties are baby shoes, but I figured someone, somewhere probably calls these things booties.
It is interesting how things are called by different names based on region. I enjoy that kind of thing, too.

@Tadlem43 it occurs to me that i have heard people call those things…they’re like a showercap for shoes? that you put on over shoes to protect a new floor or if you’re working a crime scene (lol). those are booties too so i can see where a sock with a similar cut would be called the same. those are what i call ‘no show socks’ - don’t care for those myself. i need full foot & at least a little ankle coverage
