@shadowgaurd@tkaos about 2-mos. ordered early July, arrived mid-July, I set them up right away and they have been delightful. In the daylight they don’t look expensive - it’s largely white plastic - but at night the way they cast light is lovely and sufficient for ambiance and lowkey broad visibility
@epicadventure@shadowgaurd about the same here, so far so good. With the days getting shorter some of the ones in the shadier part of the yard dont last as long anymore and I rearranged a few of them to catch more sun. overall nice product. And, I like the shadow design that they cast. Agree they look very elegant at night.
@orphum battery acts as a capacitor to store the solar charge. when the photo sensor senses darkness, it switches from storing energey to lighting the LED.
@orphum@tkaos You can also switch them out with BETTER batteries, if you can get it open. Some of the cheaper ones have batteries that don’t last all night.
Agree with the comments above. No regrets with the prior Meh purchase. Just be careful since they are plastic. I drove a large screwdriver into the ground, wiggled it around so the stake could be embedded easily. The white light is pretty bright and during the summer lasted all night long!

I’m not sure I understand the AAA battery; it’s not mentioned on the Amazon page. Is there a battery backup or something?

@tkaos Interesting, so it’s got a rechargeable battery included; I guess if it’s AAA form factor, you ostensibly could replace it if it conked out?
