@Kidsandliz
And the foam strips do nothing to reduce fog for me; the rising moist air is gonna rise anyway, even when the mask seals very snugly across the nose bridge area.
@werehatrack The surgical masks that get handed out to all patients and visitors at MD Anderson Cancer Center have a foam strip and I found that helps a lot. Wanted to buy several boxes for myself but they only sell to the medical profession practices and hospitals.
@adamwesv@eeterrific@Kerig3@mrkenneth peter mccullough, Peter Corey , Robert Malone, Tess lowery, dr yeardon, the two top fda vaccine officials who quit in protest. Look any of these people up.
@adamwesv@eeterrific@Kerig3@mrkenneth@qazxto Things have again become way too serious to allow the spread of Covid misinformation again. All major platforms have taken a stand against the dissemination of Covid misinformation, with varying degrees of success. I strongly urge Meh to follow.
The posting of a list of names of people who have made spurious, unfounded claims, is dangerous and unnecessary. For example one of the doctors in the list made a claim about boosters that I won’t repeat here, but it was based on zero scientific evidence.
Please take down these types of misinformation posts. They have the potential to do real harm, were someone to go down the “alternative facts” wormhole.
@eeterrific@elfunkman@Kerig3@mrkenneth@qazxto politicians continue to not follow their own rules, while more people have died from Covid in 2021 than in all of 2020. People are fatigued, and many are going to go back to living their normal lives despite the risks.
You can claim moral superiority all you want. No one cares.
@adamwesv@eeterrific@elfunkman@Kerig3@mrkenneth I’m an actual other person here and I wish you well, as a brother, a fellow traveller. I’m in the frontlines, have been the whole time, I didn’t quit when we didn’t have Ppe and watched “leaked” videos of Chinese hospitals stacking bodies on each other literally , I wear a mask when I have to, I’ve given the vaccine, Im not fragile and there’s more to this than you can apparently accept. I truly am sorry for you and for all the pain that many have endured, I’ve watched our elders be locked up in solitary confinement, families torn apart, I’ve seen people in hazmat suits terrified to come out for over a year who break down at the first human touch they’ve had in a year, the closest to human they got to previously was either the news or their children dropping food off.
That said I disagree with your religious zealot stance. No matter what you are instructed to think, it is not science. “.I don’t like dissenting opinion, my fragility does not tolerate the mental anguish that discourse causes and therefore we must burn all the heretical books and throw the unclean in Siberian isolation camps before they infect the rest of our society.” Our lady of sorrows, pray for us.
@ajlusardi@eeterrific@Kerig3 i dont think you really understand how risk assessment works. As a vaccinated person who has contracted Covid and recovered, should I look at seatbelts, raw meat, or crossing the road as equal risks to not wearing a kn95 mask? (Please spare me the lecture about how masks protect others, since this is specific to a self-preservation comment)
@elfunkman Sadly I just recently experienced that other daily deal website (rhymes with Moot!) decided to take their stance right down the middle and allowed identical misinformation to be spread. Of course their boss is way too busy flying rich people above the clouds in his Magical Mystery Phallus to notice.
If you don’t care about protecting others or generally reducing spread of the virus (say, to reduce variants) then yes your logic makes sense. Of course it rests on the premise that you are an island unto yourself which isn’t true.
@ajlusardi@eeterrific@Kerig3 again, the moral superiority schtick is outplayed. The economy is crumbling around us in the name of fear. I’m not some religious zealot. I’m not some internet goofball that has a presence on meh.com. I’m a normal human being that has an actual concern for people, and I know that living in a constant fear of death is misery. A collapsed economy is much more dangerous for my friends and family than this virus.
@adamwesv@ajlusardi@eeterrific@Kerig3 Putting aside the absurdity that the economy is more important than overwhelming the hospitals and mass death and the return of the morgue trucks …
Lock down could hurt the economy. You wearing a fifty cent mask can HELP keep the economy churning.
Amazing what blind allegiance to a political party’s teaching makes someone throw up out of their mouths.
@adamwesv@eeterrific@Kerig3@mrkenneth@qazxto I’m not sure if that reply was addressed to all or one of us, however, I don’t think asking that Covid misinformation not be spread has much to do with moral superiority.
@MeLlamoScott do you have an explanation as to why the three states with the lowest Covid mortality are Alaska, Florida, and Nebraska? Shouldn’t heavily red states be filled with “morgue trucks” since they don’t follow the science?
@adamwesv oh jeezus Christmas. Why do the ignorant anti science types always dig in. I’m not engaging or suffering fools any longer. Deep down you’re either mentally ill or aware that COVID is a real problem and masks actually work. There’s no in between.
@eeterrific How did the comments on your post turn into a political argument?
Hey you jerks who find it necessary to fight the to mask or not to mask fight here - lay off.
I lost my treasured 95-year-old mother to the craze that obsessed my brother who lived with her. He infected her and killed her. He got his due - he also died, as did my anti-vax looney cousin.
If you haven’t had half of your family die from not taking precautions, then shut up.
If you want the masks, then buy them. Tell us if they work for you. If not, then hit delete.
@adamwesv@dwschwartz That Beckers Hospital Review page is a snapshot of the last seven days. The Statista page is measured over the entire pandemic. Those are very, very different things, and one gives a lot more information than the other.
@Limewater that is correct. Clearly, using data from the entire pandemic is a bit misleading given the changes in responses to the virus (like you know, the vaccines or something). At this moment, when masks and isolation are being encouraged again because of a variant that has like one reported death, three heavily-red states are leading the country in low mortality.
My main point is how laughable it is that a person from this leftist cesspool accuses another of blindly following a political ideology.
@eeterrific@vadulak I am so sorry you lost so many family members. That has to be so hard. I lost my aunt and uncle 4.5 days apart (got it from an aide), my cousin a month earlier and fortunately my mom, who also had it (also got it from an aide), recovered. My niece and her entire family got it (pre-kid vaccination era, one of her kids caught it at school). Fortunately they all lived although a couple of them were really sick. There are so many people don’t believe that science works all the time, not just when you want it to. Just like gravity. That is just so dangerous for the rest of us.
@adamwesv@MeLlamoScott Not sure where you got your info-probably from the Orange Skimark or Gov DeDumbass but Florida is NUMBER #2 in Covid death behind CA.
@Felton10 you’re not sure, even though I posted a link to where I got my information from? Also, we were talking about mortality RATES. But you know, “orange skimark” and shit.
@adamwesv We all know shit as we had Drump as President for 4 long years. Can you believe there are still a lot of idiot retards who bought his snake oil and want him back?
@adamwesv Florida’s response to the pandemic has been very consistent. Ignoring twenty-two months of data to focus on a few weeks when measuring something that has had very high variance everywhere is phenomenally stupid.
Fuck Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell. Fuck everybody who bitches about “the Orange Skidmark” or “our Fake President.” You’re all stupid. The true-believer Democrats take great glee in pointing out the hypocrisy of the true-believer Republicans, but never do any serious self-examination. The true-believer Republicans do the exact same fucking thing.
Congress is full of nothing but preening jackasses appealing to idiots. Cable news and talk radio is full of nothing but preening jackasses appealing to idiots.
Fuck all of y’all for making masks political, and for listening to the jackasses who made it political, AND for insisting that only the “other side” has made it political.
Safety first, 100 times over, with this 100 pack of KN95 5-Layer
Non-Medical Standard Masks Each mask is wrapped in plastic to keep
them clean as you throw them in your bag, glove box, and purse
Disposable, one-time use KN95 face mask is comfortable and breathable
Masks help protect against diseases, dust, pollen, mold, and dander
Design features include: specially folded designed inner lining,
adjustable and covered nose clip, elastic ear loops KN95 Rated Mask 4 layers of filtration
@Kerig3 I bought the 50 pack. They do not feel like 4 or 5 layer masks. The dotted lines across the mask almost seem like holes when you first open the mask. But I bought them for single use and to have extras in places. The individual wrapping is great.
@Kerig3 This is what makes a KN-95 mask 5-layer; the most inside layer (touching your face) is a soft material, but doesn’t have a filtration level so it’s a 5-layer mask with 4 filtration layers. And yeah, they are thin, doesn’t matter but does make it easier to breathe in them. All the nurses around here are wearing them to work (Korean KN-95s, I mean.)
This company/mask is NOT on that list. Maybe it was on an earlier list? Companies and some or all of their masks have been removed or added over time as their masks passed or failed testing…
That being said typically having a foam strip on the inside helps with glasses fogging which is a plus. If you don’t have the mask tight on your face you get less protection anyway. Regardless of past CDC status (or not), they’d likely leak air less than a rectangular mask which is a plus for protection.
@Kidsandliz
And with the number of Chinese manufacturers who embrace the whole “We will stamp your brand on our product so that you look like you are not selling the same thing that has already received 27 million negative reviews on eBay and AliBaba” thing, this might be one of the ones that was accepted, but with a New! Shiny! name - and there’s no trackability to establish whether that’s true or not.
@werehatrack I know. I am sticking with masks that have consistently been on the “list” in the past even if they cost a bit more. My risk is higher than many (blood cancer - in the group that responds poorly to the vaccination although with the booster I at least have antibodies good range now!!! - although who knows how long that will last - I am part of a study to find out), so I need to use masks that I know for sure are “good” at an N95 level of protection presuming they are tight to my face.
@MINUANO68 This is the sixth time I’ve bought masks from here, all at varying price points and quantities. I’ve particularly liked these that come individually wrapped as they are easy to stuff in my bag, car, etc. and to hand out to random strangers needing a mask who may be leery of one unwrapped. I also keep a pile of them by my front door so if maintenance or others I don’t know the vax status of drop by I can easily hand them one.
@MINUANO68 Great find. So at least Aug 31, 2020 they would have been on “the list”. Hopefully they didn’t fall into the group of masks that were on the list and got pulled along the way as they started to be made more cheaply and started to “fail” the CDC standards (a number were pulled over the months for that reason). They weren’t on the more current list I had posted, however knowing that the CDC was stopping their temporary emergency program they may not have submitted either.

lol - I absolutely love tinfoil hat science denying dipshits.
I’m still waiting for someone to detail how, exactly, the “”“government”“” is “benefitting” from mask mandates.
And spare me you bullshit “fear” garbage. I drive to the store, I put on a mask for 10 minutes, buy my shit, and leave, removing my mask. There’s not a bit of “fear” involved… The only ones that seem afraid are the people that speak to is ceaselessly. Grow the fuck up. It’s a piece of cloth - not indentured servitude .
any word on the strap (earloop )length on these? It does say « high elastic ear straps/loops » which means they should be stretchy at least.
The last batch I bought here were not usable for me (NOT the same brand, came in box of 50, 5 * packs of 10. not individually wrapped). Those were just too tight and not stretchy at all. They would attempt to deform my ears by bending my back earlobe into my nose… and then would either pop off my damaged ear or break at the surface-weld point on the mask.
If I can find out these are better, I’ll be in for a set.
@pmarin reading the amazon reviews (the negative ones) some people are complaining about the straps being too tight but the numbers don’t seem all that huge so maybe only for really big faces? Maybe stretch the ear loops out a bit (like overnight) before you use them? Usually the ear loops on masks do stretch over time so doing it in advance if they are “too tight”?
@Kidsandliz@pmarin
On the one hand, having to do that much extra work to save a nickel per mask is not worth my time. OTOH, we don’t even know if these have the issue, and it’s been inconsistent from batch to batch. OTGH, if I am in a situation where masking up seems warranted as a basic precaution, I’m probably not going to want to be there very long - and for the situations where I need to stay masked for hours on end, I have my stash of really good ones.
@pmarin If these are the same XIKH masks that I got previously here, the loops on these are good enough for me! & I was a breach baby & wear a large hat size. Another bonus is the smell. IMO it’s quite pleasant, kind of a torn paper smell. I’d buy more but we got a ton right now.
I do like these as they are individually wrapped and comfortable (I sound like a bad condom commercial O_o ) And for those who are spouting the usual idiot anti mask, ignorant covid remarks, I can only hope karma covid shows you differently (insert shit eating thumbs up grin here).
@SEGAStaRBiTS64
Hey, at least they aren’t trying to sell us fruitcake.
Or TrackRs.
Or TrackRcake
OBTW, extensive testing has confirmed that Deluxe Fruitcake is improved nicely by marinating in Captain Morgan. This has been found to be superior to using bourbon.
@SEGAStaRBiTS64@werehatrack Ha! I read an article the other day that fruitcake found from 100 years ago was still edible and tasted fine. Umm fruitcake is never edible and tastes fine to me but hey made back then I am sure it was preserved well in alcohol.
extensive testing has confirmed that Deluxe Fruitcake is improved nicely by marinating in Captain Morgan. This has been found to be superior to using bourbon.
Seconded. Rum is far superior to Bourbon in fruit-preserving qualities as well as flavor improvement. The more rum you pour into the cake, the tastier it gets.
@Kidsandliz@mike808@SEGAStaRBiTS64@werehatrack Better to just drink the rum and enjoy it until you can eat the fruitcake without even tasting it. If for some reason, you want to eat fruitcake.
Way better than that “Deluxe” nonsense. And if you’re wanting a real fruitcake that is actually edible, then Collin Street Bakery is the place to get it from. https://collinstreet.com/
@mike808 Funny you mention them, i just heard about a new documentary on the huge embezzlement scandal involving an employee. They have an interesting history, it seems!
@ircon96 Collin Street? I’ve not heard of this. I have had their cakes and they’re pretty good. Not as good as my heirloom recipe fruitcake cookies, though. I learned of them through my dad. He sent one a few years ago in memory of my mother who passed and used to make the fruitcake cookies I posted in the other thread for the family.
@mike808 I saw your post about the cookies, I’ve never seen those before, they sound unique & interesting. I’m not much of a baker, but i made note of your tips in case i get a sudden urge, which has been known to happen occasionally! Anyway, the trailer for that documentary is pretty entertaining, looks like they took a quirky, tongue-in-cheek approach to the story.
Seems like a solid deal. My favorite meh masks so far. I’d buy them but we do have a lot of masks. The XIKH’s are my favorite. The L’MERI are the worst as the loops aren’t long enough. I need a solution for them.
@Joedetroit Thanks, that’s encouraging. Now I’m glad I ordered. I was burned by that one bad batch, not sure if it was L’meri but I was not Merry wearing them.
As for what to do with the short-string batch, either give them to smaller people, or I know there are various contraptions (home-made or bought) for behind-the-head strap devices, often adjustable, so they fasten behind your neck rather than just your ears.
wonder what this giphy will be
/giphy iconic-toasty-griswold
Look person coming here after the fact: You’ve already read the other comments so I’m going to say something else.
These were “Ok” KN95’s - Another batch I got from morning save felt better.
I love using these as replacements for dust masks and anything dusty but not needing an N95. The earloops make it less of a pain to put on/off so I’m more likely to wear them. When I do mowing or any sort of real yardwork, I throw one on as it’s cheap enough to “one-time” use.

Who was that masked man?
@yakkoTDI
OH MY GOD THEY MASKED GLEN!!!
@shahnm
I think he looks better that way.
@shahnm Well he ain’t got no hands to do it himself.
(he’s got one hand actually, but it’s up his butt)
@shahnm Wait, how can you be sure that is actually Glen?
@shahnm YOU BASTARDS!
Remember that time when we all wore masks? Yeah, meh remembers.
@guybrush01 I remember it like it was this morning.
Oh, wait, it was this morning.
Is that: calling spell check on aisle 3?
I presume you mean anti-fog - as in the foam strip I see on the inside of the mask?
@Kidsandliz
And the foam strips do nothing to reduce fog for me; the rising moist air is gonna rise anyway, even when the mask seals very snugly across the nose bridge area.

I’ve actually been waiting for these to return on here. Purchased!
@billchase2 Have you purchased these before? If so can you give us a review of them?
@Kerig3 I have not, but the Amazon reviews seem decent so I figured I’d give them a shot at this price.
@billchase2 Thank you for the reply.
So are these 4 layer or 5 layer masks?
@Kerig3 Apparently…
@Kerig3 I bought the 50 pack. They do not feel like 4 or 5 layer masks. The dotted lines across the mask almost seem like holes when you first open the mask. But I bought them for single use and to have extras in places. The individual wrapping is great.
@Kerig3 four layers of filtration may not correspond to the five total layers. One may not be a filtration layer.
@Kerig3 This is what makes a KN-95 mask 5-layer; the most inside layer (touching your face) is a soft material, but doesn’t have a filtration level so it’s a 5-layer mask with 4 filtration layers. @CBL_WV @susanrm Thank you for that logical answer.
@CBL_WV @Kerig3 Sad that almost 2 yrs into this, nurses still can’t get US-made N95 masks, like the 3M ones that used to be readily available.
There is not a FDA approval list so you might want to delete that.
There is (well was as the emergency action has been withdrawn now) a CDC approval list - see url

CDC test results for this company’s masks look promising. https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/respirators/testing/results/MTT-2020-369.1_DongguanSengtorPlasticsProducts_TestReport_Redacted-508.pdf
So I bought them.
@MINUANO68 Thank you for sharing this, I’ll get a box myself!
They weren’t on the more current list I had posted, however knowing that the CDC was stopping their temporary emergency program they may not have submitted either.
screw you libs
@Matrixclese From a bipartisan POV the Coronavirus doesn’t care which party you belong to.
@Matrixclese the ironic thing being the current profile of US citizens expiring from COVID. (HINT: it’s not “the libs”)
But I must admit watching GQP’ers remove themselves from the equation is pretty enjoyable.
@Matrixclese
Translation: Troll
@Pufferfishy being happy with misinformed people dying is a weird flex.
@Matrixclese Another product of inbreeding and a graduate of Trump U weighs in.
@adamwesv After nearly TWO YEARS of trying to show people the light they’re no longer “misinformed” - they’re WILLFULLY IGNORANT. YUGE difference.
So yeah - fuck 'em - “weird flex” that it is. There’s seven BILLION people on this planet - we can afford to lose a few toxic dipshits.
lol - I absolutely love tinfoil hat science denying dipshits.
@Pufferfishy
Grow the fuck up. It’s a piece of cloth - not indentured servitude .
Sadly they’ll never really “grow up” since they’re dying in huge numbers…2070 just yesterday alone.
@Pufferfishy Sorry forgot to add as a quote:
@Kerig3 @Pufferfishy
FTFY.
I seriously doubt these are legit KN95s.
@rlux I seriously doubt these are worse than nothing at all.

@steeltoesenator Sorry, it doesn’t look like you have a default payment setting. You can add one now.
@mediocrebot so my info just disappeared? Thanks for the heads up tho, fixed it.
@steeltoesenator It didn’t disappear. It is nice and safe on my next computer parts order. Hello petabytes of storage!!

Yippee, more masks. At least they aren’t stroopwafels.
Now watch, tomorrow’s Meh will be stroopwafels.
@lisagd
Maybe it’ll be masks with stroopwafel inserts, if we’re lucky!
@Kerig3 @lisagd
Maybe it will be mask-shaped stroopwafels with a special mug that they perch atop for warming over one’s hot beverage of choice.
Naaah, it’s more likely to be more of the Schoolyard packing peanuts.
LOL.
@richrauch
any word on the strap (earloop )length on these?
@Kidsandliz @pmarin
@lsweet110 image above seems to be auditioning for a position on Fox « news? »
@pmarin lol it does! The new Faux news anchor
@lsweet110
I might order a box and crow about it just to pwn the magats.
Bo-ring. Can we go back to more interesting items now?
@SEGAStaRBiTS64 I’m happy staying alive with my masks and my Meh wine.
@SEGAStaRBiTS64
@SEGAStaRBiTS64 @werehatrack Or soak these masks in Captain Morgan before going out.
to, um, sterilize them.
@SEGAStaRBiTS64 @werehatrack Ha! I read an article the other day that fruitcake found from 100 years ago was still edible and tasted fine. Umm fruitcake is never edible and tastes fine to me but hey made back then I am sure it was preserved well in alcohol.
@Kidsandliz @SEGAStaRBiTS64 @werehatrack
Seconded. Rum is far superior to Bourbon in fruit-preserving qualities as well as flavor improvement. The more rum you pour into the cake, the tastier it gets.
@Kidsandliz @mike808 @SEGAStaRBiTS64 @werehatrack Better to just drink the rum and enjoy it until you can eat the fruitcake without even tasting it. If for some reason, you want to eat fruitcake.
@Kidsandliz @OutbackJon @SEGAStaRBiTS64 @werehatrack
You haven’t tried my world-famous fruitcake cookies. Meh Linky

Yee-ha! Moar Masskisss!!

Look person coming here after the fact: You’ve already read the other comments so I’m going to say something else.
These were “Ok” KN95’s - Another batch I got from morning save felt better.
I love using these as replacements for dust masks and anything dusty but not needing an N95. The earloops make it less of a pain to put on/off so I’m more likely to wear them. When I do mowing or any sort of real yardwork, I throw one on as it’s cheap enough to “one-time” use.
Nice masks!
Are these legit KN95? There are so many fraudulent products out there.
