@bruinscbr@Stallion In November, I bought comic books, 2 drones, random gift bags, a choo choo train, 2 sheet sets, 2 sound bases, and a shit load of AA batteries.
@Collin1000 Is that rating before the battery is boosted to 5V or after? Not knowing which voltage the mAh rating is from makes it sort of worthless. Maybe one day companies will rate their power packs in watt hours.
@narfcake well we need Bill Nye to find out, or a monkey playing football at Meh Labs that can rig this up. If these could be recharged, I’d still buy zero but it’s another thing to say about them.
That MFi logo has been modified and is not Apple-approved. Not to mention the horror that is that knock-off Lightning connector. I wouldn’t trust that thing not to fry the phone’s charging port.
@jareza great find, thanks for sharing. I suspect later generations, a thousand years from now, will refer to us all as “a bit of an ecological disaster”.
@jareza It’s more about having a larger capacity would make it worth it. If they are 1000mah rather than 600mah it’s a great deal on LIPOs for little projects.
This is the second time I’ve bought these- They have come in real handy- I live rural and we’ve had our share of major events (fires, floods) that have knocked out infrastructure so these have been very useful. For people who have to evacuate and such, these are a life saver. I keep a few in the car to give away as needed.
@kathologist if infrastructure is knocked out don’t the cell towers also go? And if you give them away how can they help you. Plus the last thing I would grab if there was a flood or fire was some meh crap. Unless of course I had created a Meh survival pack using my Thule Backpack, collapsible cups, camp forks, Bluetooth stereo dock, AA batteries, and of course these precious power things. But I don’t think like that.
Power outage due to a thunderstorm or tornado? Cell towers keep running on generators.
Power outage due to hurricane and you live on an island populated by brown people that don’t speak the same language as the Cheeto in Chief? You’re ducked. And you’re gonna need a lot more than disposable power tabs.
@bleedmichigan As mentioned elsewhere, the cell towers (not all of them) have back-up generators. POTS is the last to go (if you use a plain vanilla phone). I know this because this is what happens here at least once a year and in the last five years, big fires, floods and just weak infrastructure has knocked out comms for our county. While I still had DSL, the county Sheriff/OES and Fire Dept went down and I listened to CalFire in Napa and Major Events channels on Broadcastify to get info during the recent firestorms.
Yes, the trunk of my car has some Meh purchases in it for my “bugout” gear. And enough to share for those who need it.
Mediacom is the sole provider of cable (and some fiber) here and it falls down all the time. AT&T has a monopoly on landlines and DSL. Satellite requires a landline, too.
“I love you enough to regularly worry about the possibility you could end up frozen to death in your stalled car, or similar.”
And that’s the thought that counts.
It’s these little bon mots in the write-ups that keeps me coming back day after day, even when most of the stuff on offer is…er…the kind of stuff I regularly find in my basement, expired or far beyond useful and ask myself “what was I thinking when I bought it?”
@dino2269 I wish I had seen your comment before I bought them! Just tried to use one, it literally gave me 4% more battery and I had to press it into the charging port the entire time.
Single use? What are these made out of? Am I crazy or is this not the most environmentally unsafe disposable on the planet? Most cellphone batteries have a big ‘x’-on-a-trashcan icon telling you to NOT throw it in the trash right?
These are useless. I tried my first one to recharge my phone while sitting in CDG in Paris and it didn’t give me any charge at all. What a great idea and a waste of money.

THIS ISN’T A MEHRATON!
@ELUNO thank god. I can sleep.
@RiotDemon Move over a bit, I’m sleeping as well.
@ELUNO stop hogging the covers!
/blame!
@narfcake Sigh, my bad, so sorry.
Nope
I didn’t buy these the last few times. You cannot fool me into buying them now either. Ha ha, I win this time Meh.
@cengland0 It worked! Your order number is: wait what shit
/image wait what shit
You know it’s shitty when they can’t even afford to pay for the E in Powertabs
For the love of god
@UncleRummy This is not enough to earn my love.
@UncleRummy hey UncleRummy! You and I should be pals.
After seeing this for what feels like the 6th time i think its finally time to consider canceling my vmp . Stop with this garbage
@bruinscbr 4th time since 5-13-17.
This is not as bad as candy corn, but it’s getting there.
@RiotDemon Nope- some of us liked candy corn. This, probably not.
@bruinscbr So sad you may be right, has VMP finally lost all hope?
@bruinscbr @Stallion In November, I bought comic books, 2 drones, random gift bags, a choo choo train, 2 sheet sets, 2 sound bases, and a shit load of AA batteries.
Too bad meh never has anything good for sale.
@therealjrn none of that is stuff i would buy. I use rechargeable batteries, don’t like trains or comics. The selection has dwindled recently.
@bruinscbr Since meh closed VMP signups themselves, saying you’ll cancel is not threat, it’s a reward.
Meh must get a ‘charge’ out of this deal…I won’t because I didn’t buy!
@AttyVette you wouldn’t even if you did. It’s garbage.
Hah well played meh.
I miss bundle Saturdays. They were more fun.
@sammydog01 This is a bundle. Just a bundle of 10 of the same crap.
Still no USB -c? Still no buy
1,000 mAh for those who are curious about the amount of juice they store.
@Collin1000 That must be what the -1PA at the end of the model number refers to, 1 Pathetic Amphour.
KuoH
@Collin1000 Is that rating before the battery is boosted to 5V or after? Not knowing which voltage the mAh rating is from makes it sort of worthless. Maybe one day companies will rate their power packs in watt hours.
It’s like méh-jà vu all over again.
Why in the world do these need to be single use again?
@username So meh can sell them every month.
Anyone notice in the picture of one of these plugged in to an iPhone the iPhone is NOT charging?
Nighty nite.
Fucking waste.
@Pantheist Not something I’d do but enjoy yourself I guess.
Where do you go to recycle these? The bins here are only for paper and plastic/cans.
@JT954 Their website half heartedly encourages you to recycle them but they also try to make it sound like putting them in the trash is okay too.
@JT954 At my work, there is a bucket to properly dispose of batteries. It fills up quickly with everything from alkaline to laptop batteries.
So, has anyone actually used one? How much charge did you get?
@bdb roughly a 50% charge on my iPhone 8.
@bdb I bought they didn’t work.
@jacobbartley Thank you
I feel like I’m going to enjoy this site much more once Amazon buys it and runs it into the ground.
@mydrivec
/8ball Will Amazon offer to buy meh?
Better not tell you now
Stocking Stuffer Saturdays were more fun when it was random pile of leftovers. These may be leftover, and a pile, but they are not random.
@hchavers Alas, we got a different SSS. Super Shitty Saturday.
Alternatively, Absolute Shit Saturday also works.
These things make me sad. There’s actually a lithium ion battery inside that could be recharged, but no way to do it.
@billatq I wonder if you take an Apple Pencil charging adapter and plug this and a lighting cord in to these battery pack could the be recharged?
@billatq I wonder about inductive charging. I have a powermat from a prior Meh sale, and I have to wonder if it will work.
@bleedmichigan Doubtful that these have a charging circuit to let these recharge.
@FSSZilla Even more doubtful. Like 101% doubtful. This shit is so cheap they couldn’t even afford to use an e in its name.
@narfcake well we need Bill Nye to find out, or a monkey playing football at Meh Labs that can rig this up. If these could be recharged, I’d still buy zero but it’s another thing to say about them.
@bleedmichigan
/8ball Just because it’s possible, should one do so?
Very doubtful
@narfcake your 8 ball is a negative and devisive force
@bleedmichigan It’s meh’s /8ball.
/8ball Am I a “negative and devisive force”?
Better not tell you now
/8ball Are these batteries still complete shit?
Signs point to yes
Meh.be it’s just me, but was there any mention of maH in the spec, or Meh.be BTU, or KJ/ft3^mJK?
/youtube we all need to measure in units
/giphy the spec should include the power
I’m a Samsung guy but bought 10 for my lady friend with the I phone she will be impressed no one has to tell her I didn’t buy them on Amazon haha
@mellowirishgent Ya gots to treat your womens right.
No USB-C?
So I can’t even not buy them because they suck. I have to not buy them because I don’t even have a choice. How rude.
@MrMark Amen. Good thing my USB-C device can last up to 48 hours on 1 charge or I’d be tempted to possibly complain about these.
@MrMark
/giphy how wude!
5 year shelf life…from when?
@werekong Probably 4 years ago.
That MFi logo has been modified and is not Apple-approved. Not to mention the horror that is that knock-off Lightning connector. I wouldn’t trust that thing not to fry the phone’s charging port.
@bratling Good thing the iPhone model is sold out
Here is a tear down of the units in question
@jareza Those area also not the same. The powertab ones are much larger.
@jareza I wonder if I can have another Power HIT…
…of fresh air…?
@lichen dude… it’s the same principle not the exact same model, you dont have to be so @n@l about it
@jareza great find, thanks for sharing. I suspect later generations, a thousand years from now, will refer to us all as “a bit of an ecological disaster”.
@jareza It’s more about having a larger capacity would make it worth it. If they are 1000mah rather than 600mah it’s a great deal on LIPOs for little projects.
I bought last time - these are ok, but not good enough to sell out in 12 hours. Must have been purchased for stocking stuffers.
This is the second time I’ve bought these- They have come in real handy- I live rural and we’ve had our share of major events (fires, floods) that have knocked out infrastructure so these have been very useful. For people who have to evacuate and such, these are a life saver. I keep a few in the car to give away as needed.

@bleedmichigan depends on the kind of “knocked out”.
@bratling How to charge your phone with a candle.

@KwadGuy I agree. I hardly ever buy anything from Meh, but the witty hobnobbery keeps me visiting daily.
I have bought these from Meh.com before they suck they do not work do not buy.
@dino2269 I wish I had seen your comment before I bought them! Just tried to use one, it literally gave me 4% more battery and I had to press it into the charging port the entire time.
what about us with new androids that have the USB-C instead of the micro USB
@DaGbear5 Use the adapter that undoubtedly came with your phone?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@jquebby Were you using the phone while trying to charge?
@medz It was turned on but I was not using it. Are you supposed to turn it off in order to charge it?
@jquebby I don’t know. I didn’t buy this junk crap.
