Stories exist alleging that Darth Goofus once took part in an underground gladiatorial arena on Rattatak. In a surprising turn of events, he managed to not only survive but win the competition, completely unscathed. However, upon ascending the podium to claim his prize, he tripped. This caused him to drop and discharge his lightsaber by accident.
Goofus would receive another mechanical body part replacement shortly after, paid for with his winnings.
