Keep Cool

Hey, it’s me, your most terrible quasi-friend! And let me tell you, I am PUMPED for grilling season!

Please, don’t misunderstand me. I will not be doing any grill sessions myself. But I am more than happy to attend all the cookouts you’re planning on hosting. You just give me the date and time and I’ll show up with a family-sized bag store brand potato chips as my only contribution!

Because here’s the thing: while others view grilling out as a way to hang with friends and enjoy a beautiful summer’s day, I see nothing but potential for profit. So I’m getting there, I’m plopping that bag down on the chips table, and I’m going for the good stuff. We’re talking a couple burgers, a couple hot dogs, a couple brats, a couple chicken thighs, and ALL the sides. I’ll even take you up on the just-to-be-polite “bring some leftovers home!” offer.

See? Already, I’ve turned a $2 purchase into lunch, dinner, and maybe even lunch again tomorrow. And that’s just the food. We haven’t even gotten to the beverages yet.

Oh yeah, you know I’m raiding that cooler. And I’m not looking for your basic domestics. Nah, I’m going straight for the craft offerings: the IPAs, the local brews, all that stuff that probably cost close to twenty bucks for a six-pack.

But look, I’m not an amateur backyard barbecue profiteer, okay? My goal is not just to pillage one good spread of grilled meats and cold beer; it’s to go from one get-together to another all summer long. Which is why I’ve invested in these BottleKeepers and CanKeepers.

For starters, they keep drinks colder for longer, and they’re adjustable so they can fit most beer bottles or cans. But more important than that, they hide what you’re drinking from others, so no one starts to wonder why the “friend of a friend from work” always has a primo beverage in their hand. Also, they protect the vessel. That means you don’t have to worry about getting a few beers deep, dropping a bottle next to the pool, and then having to borrow a broom and a dustpan.

That kind of thing can draw attention. And attention is the last thing you want when you’re trying to discreetly slide a box of plastic forks into your backpack.

What I’m getting at is that these BottleKeepers and CanKeepers are a must-have if you want to turn a bag of potato chips into 10,000 calories and a healthy buzz. And that’s if the chips don’t get eaten. If the bag’s unopened, just take it with you, and boom! You’re ready for the next barbecue.
