@yakkoTDI Exactly. Water at home in front of the kids, soda at company cookout in front of the boss, ice cold bear at the company cookout minus the boss.
@ratman I was in a fancy Belgian restaurant once, with my best friend and her actual-professional-brewer husband. They had a beer sommelier. He and my friend’s husband talked for 20 minutes about his beer choices.
The beer sommelier then turned to my friend, looked her up and down, and said, “ya like cider?”
She replied that she did, and he had no further questions and came back with something she loved. We still say “ya like cider?” whenever possible.
The people of Long Island make a great tea that goes down pretty easily in the summer. If I don’t feel like alcohol lemonade hits the spot more often than not. Even flavored lemonades are pretty good(e.g.: strawberry, raspberry or even blueberry)
@sicc574 A go to Summer beverage when I was a kid was half lemonade and half Vernor’s ginger ale. Sadly Vernor’s got bought out by Schweppe’s and they watered it down.
Depends on what I am grilling and where.

@hchavers @yakkoTDI
But not an IPA. (I P Anywhere)
Ice Cold Coke
Besides being refreshing, a glass of ice water is great for putting out the fire on the steak (a glass of vodka, not so much).
@phendrick Alcohol typically won’t “burn” until it’s over 100 proof (50%). e.g. Rumplemintz, 151 Rum, Everclear, etc.
Vodka would put put the fire and probably make the steak taste drunk, bitter, and inedible.
Like your ex.
Eskimo Hut
Same as lawn mower beer. Something that I know tastes bad but I am drinking anyway, at about 72F.
Tea and water are great. But if I want alcohol a frozen margarita is the way to grill
Topo-chico mineral water
@txag96
@Kyeh I never heard that before. It’s the right vibe for the right beverage. Thanks for sharing that!
@txag96 I hadn’t either; I found it when I searched Topo Chico to find out more about it. I’ve seen it at the store but never tried it; now I will!
I’ve never had much luck grilling beverages.
Cider!
@ratman Dickens is my favorite brand, especially when I’m with my girlfriend; nothing beats a nice Dickens Cider!

@sicc574 I’m partial to limeade, but not the stuff from Sonic. Too much sugar!

@sicc574 @yakkoTDI And Blenheim is a pale shadow of what it used to be, as well.
Arnold Palmer.
Pimm’s Cup if I’m feeling fancy. I like mine with ginger ale, and I freeze the strawberries and cucumbers first.
