The Key Of Power

I’ll be honest, the first thing I thought when I opened the product page about this thing was: uh… wait, what is this thing? Initially, I thought it could be either:

a) A very serious (and somewhat misleading) looking keychain flashlight; or…

b) a device that can unlock all things, from doors to computers to the hearts of would-be lovers, through some mixture of technological innovation and outright witchcraft.

But actually, it’s somewhere between those two things. And if I’m being honest, it’s a lot closer to option a. What we got here is basically a tiny charging cable. One end is USB; the other is either lightning or micro-usb. Thus, if you’re at your desk, working on your computer, you can use it to charge your phone.

That probably seems silly, and in a way it is. You can just bring a charging cable with you to the office if your phone is running low on juice, right? Sure. But what about when it’s not running low? What about when it’s at that pesky 24% charged, so that the battery hasn’t gone into the red but is about to? Are you going to think to grab your charger then? Maybe, but probably not. An then you’re doomed to suffer the indignity of watching the life drain from your phone in a place surrounded by outlets and USB ports.

You know what you absolutely need to take with you to work every day? Your keys! Otherwise, you’re going to be dealing with a bigger headache than a phone in the red. And with this SwissTech KeyCable, as long as you have your keys, you’ve got power.

In conclusion, there is also a flashlight.
