It’s very uncanny valley territory.
Sometimes the program gets confused.
@RiotDemon
@Moose
/giphy zooms in closer
@Moose clicking on the imgur link to find out what I’m looking at didn’t help. I just went down a weird rabbit hole that eventually led to:
/youtube rubber Johnny Aphex Twin
@RiotDemon Apologies, I was on mobile. Pictures are de-imgured now, no connections to Rubber Johnny
@Moose no apologies needed. I hadn’t seen the Rubber Johnny video in a really long time. It was a weird trip back in time.
I’m still not sure what I’m looking for in the zoomed in photo.
@RiotDemon Dafuq?!? Thanks for the Eraserhead flashbacks. Now I need to find a way to bleach those images from my brain before bed time.
@DennisG2014 haha. Come on, it’s great! Especially when watching in the dark.
/youtube aphex twin come to daddy
She looks normal. Her friend, however…
Is that an uncooked turkey?
This poor child has multiple rows of teeth like a shark.
Yeah, teeth are mostly the biggest issue this has
But how can we know they don’t exist? Aside from the occasional weird teeth. It could be showing us real people and we wouldn’t know the difference — nobody knows what everyone in the whole wide world (or whole wide internet) looks like.
And if I see someone who looks like me, I’m gonna go be a hermit someplace.
I don’t get it. They look like real people to me.
@moonhat The internet is amazing.
Most people have one eye bigger than the other. All these people have eyes the same size. That’s how I can tell they aren’t real.
@Fuzzalini sometimes these people have oddly shaped pupils or a slight heterochromia thing happening.
@RiotDemon True, but the eye size is so obvious to me. They all seem to have the exact same eye size, and their eyes are open the same amount. I had a photographer once tell me that my eyes are very close to the same size, and that’s extremely rare, at least in his experience of taking tens of thousands of portraits.
This can help:

@dave that was ridiculously informative. Thank you.
I have some neat finds from the site from a few days ago. Alas, the last time I tried posting an image on meh on mobile I hosted it on imgur and it came out obnoxious with imgur stuff in the way.
I wish there was a way to directly post an image on mobile. I assume folks on desktop have a button for that?
Also, “Request Desktop Site” doesn’t give me a different response
@GLaDOS turn your phone sideways before clicking on the text box. The menu will show up.
Yay!

Even more interesting errors.
@RiotDemon Yes
In fact I have yet to find a “normal” looking cat on that playing with it for 5ish minutes.
cat alligator from that site

Here is an article about this
