The Fool's Errand: an April Meh-rathon
The man gave Bob’s hand a firm shake and then studied his own palm.
The device in it was merely a click-counter.
“That’s fifty handshakes already, and it’s not even nine in the morning yet!” the man said. “I work for my father-in-law’s company. Corporate cyber security. I help bring clients in. I’m great on the phone and over email, but I’ve been having a hard time sealing the deal in person. My father-in-law said I need to work on my handshake, so I’m trying to shake a thousand hands today.”
“Wow,” Bob said. “Well, your shake felt strong to me.”
“I really appreciate that, sir,” the man said. “I’ve made a lot of progress already, it seems. But there is one more thing…”
