@Kyeh lol I took out an LED very bright flashlight and was scanning/retracing my movements for the last couple days which… Is how I found the remote.

But I know I put random bits of hardware on top of there all of the time because it’s raining/too humid to open the garage/some piece I had to mail order.

I don’t normally have them in a pocket. normal pocket things wallet/keys/phone/receipts all have destinations.

I am sure I put these in a pocket. Got home. Changed to “house clothes” and the was the logical place to put them.

Honestly the remote in the laundry makes less sense.

@unksol I finally put an Airtag on my remote, and have used it several times! I carry it into the kitchen because there’s an opening above the sink so I can watch TV from there, but I want to mute the ads. And then I get distracted and put it down somewhere between the two rooms.

Technically maybe test the over the air tuner

But yes I can use them via my phone. I haven’t tried it for OTA but remotes are Bluetooth

If you wanted to allow the company to use your account to triangulate in the wild… I guess… Your choice to let them run up prices on demand. But you probably don’t? People who walk ar9 with location on just confuse a bit

At least you haven’t left it in the freezer lol I only bought the backup because I somehow put it in the back seat of the expedition. And had searched the whole house. Over a couple weeks flipped the couch to make sure it hasn’t fallen in… I had to have gotten up with the remote and decided while I was up I needed… Something out of the back seat. but why I didn’t set it down somewhere before going out the door. I didn’t find it for a few months cause just… Never go into the backseat on that side.

It’s got a great picture but most people wouldn’t be able to tell when it’s not lined up next to less expensive models! Being my family was in the TV business I really do appreciate the wonderful picture but I don’t think I’d spend that much money next time.

No diagnosis yet, just that it’s coming out as soon as I get cleared for surgery from several different specialists. She says she’s hopeful it’s not malignant just from the shape but she can’t tell until it comes out and it’s biopsied. Honestly, i’m more worried about going under anesthesia than I am about it being something bad. I’ve had a lot of surgeries throughout the years, at least 30, and the older I get it’s harder and harder to come out of it.

Thanks Kyeh! It hasn’t been officially diagnosed yet but what my oncology gynecologist thinks it could/might be is a piece of the ovary I had removed that grew back when I had a oophorectomy. It’s called Ovarian Remnant Syndrome (ORS) and it’s possible 30 years later it started growing even more! Or, she also said It could be a cyst. I’ll keep you updated, looks like surgery will be done in the middle of May, right around my birthday! Well… I suppose the BEST BD gift would be a clean bill of gynecological health…

Yeah, I’m not sure why the APRN was so angry, it could’ve been what you said about it not being found earlier. I wish I would’ve just asked him! Usually I would’ve but I had so many other questions running through my mind after I was told that shocking news about the stone not causing any issues. I think he was wrong though, I just started having really bad sharp pain way up high in my flank, that’s directly behind the stone and no where near the tumor. IDK, I’m wishing and wondering if I had went to the ER would they have just gone in and taken it out then?

Yeah but when you get this kind of news and a wait that is that long to find the answer it is really hard to stop thinking about it and wondering if I had done X then would I know Y sooner, what if it is Z and the wait will make this entire mess worse…

It took 8 years for my follicular non-hodgkin’s lymphoma to be diagnosed because a ton of different people weren’t going their job over the years, not taking my symptoms seriously, and making wrong assumptions. And it took 4 years for my first breast cancer to be diagnosed for similar reasons on top of that “you are too young to have a mammogram and it is just normal lumpy breast” assumption (it was 5.5cm when finally diagnosed). I sure had a lot of "could’ve would’ve should’ve’ after these things happened.

Good luck dealing with the wait. It can be hard at times when your brain has no off switch for the concern/worry about the what is it and more.

Thanks Kidsandliz, I appreciate your support, you definitely get it! Unfortunately from first hand experience. I don’t think you can ever be “too young” for a mammogram! IF you have boobs and there’s a problem a mammogram can be very telling! That reminds me of those addiction counselors that never abused anything in their life. IMO, you can only learn so much from books…
My medical charts at some of my Drs/specialists are in multiple notebooks that are over 6" thick, so like you I’ve been through my share. Unfortunately that’s what gets me second guessing some of their opinions and more recently I’ve found myself becoming extremely cynical, it doesn’t feel good and I don’t like it! 🥹
I knew I needed to go see about the kidney stones sooner but they weren’t causing much pain. That’s one of the bad things about being on pain meds, they mask EVERYTHING! I’ve just got to calm my mind from this awful projecting, May will be here before I know it and hopefully this will all be behind me!

I saw a social worker after my first breast cancer diagnosis. She told me she knows exactly how I feel as her aunt had breast cancer. Really? That is one asshole who shouldn’t be in social work. When my brother died the Dean of Student Services (ran an outdoor adventure program at the time and was 26) told me she knew how I felt as her brother almost died. Yeah right. Her brother lived. Mine didn’t. This was a week after the funeral and she told me by showing I was sad I was upsetting her staff; that I should be over it by now. Really? This was another person who was in the wrong job.

Personally I’m just as finicky about how I write here as anywhere else - I hate seeing typos later; I sometimes take so long writing that I have to copy it and repost it because it’s been over 5 min. so the “Say it” won’t work.
I know most people aren’t as compulsive about it. And I never used to use emojis but my sister started using them and I got into it after that. But I feel like I know what people are like from the way they write. Sometimes I’m dead wrong though!
I’ve known a few people who are very concise and write about things very clearly - but in person they use a LOT of words.

IDK WHAT IN THE WORLD I WAS THINKING… Besides of course that she looked to be 7 months pregnant! Big take-away was everything doesn’t have to be spoken and/or acknowledged!

THAT was one of the MOST embarrassing things I’ve ever done, and definitely something I NEVER thought I would do! Especially since I was almost 60 and certainly KNEW BETTER! 🫣 Now, 3 years later, at least “I” can laugh about it. But, I truly hope I didn’t traumatize the poor lady and throw her into any kind of eating disorder!

Kyeh - Yeah it’s definitely weird how those cells can reproduce! In my case, irregular and unpredictable as it was, it was even enough to start my menstrual cycle back up. That was crazy to me! So much so that I’m not sure I would’ve even believed it if it wasn’t happening to me!
I might have mentioned this before but that’s the time I became a true believer of and very interested in stem cell research. Ironically, it all happened at the same time Michael J Fox was promoting it on the Oprah show.

I do know I obsessively reread things sometimes and the editing window itself is short once you hit say it. So you can find minor things but not like totally change the contents.

I wonder if someone edits the post you are replying to in that short window it disconnects your response because you would be responding to something that has changed. So wants you to refresh. So it doesn’t look like you’re responding to something that disappeared.

Which would probably be good… Ish? I think I’ve always been able to hit the back button on my phone when it fails to post and copy paste it out so I didn’t lose the whole thought.

Yeah, I detest lotus seed pods. They remind of those horrible frogs that incubate their tadpoles in the flesh of their backs. When I was a kid I had a nightmare that I had these pore-like holes on my legs that had small discs in them that would pop out & there was a jelly-like substance underneath. Body horror!

@unksol That’s exactly what I was talking about. It’s patterns that suggest that sort of thing. It’s not like a normal distaste for - say - images of wounds or something (not that I like seeing those.) It’s a skin-crawly kind of revulsion. Not fear exactly but just feeling really creeped out. I’ve read that some people get nauseated and shaky; I don’t react that strongly.
I only found out that it was a named thing a while back; I hadn’t known so many other people feel it too.

As it turned out the neighbor had picked it up. That was totally unexpected since it was a Friday and she’s not WFH as far as I know. It was mid-morning and I was out there within 10-15 minutes of the drop off time so figured there’s no way she could have gotten it.
Still pisses me off that they left it at the top end of the driveway rather than taking it down to the porch where at least it would be not as visible. I mean, it’s a circular drive for Christ’s sake. Not to mention that sitting in the sun in a gray bag on a concrete driveway in the south was certainly not good for the contents!

Well I’m glad your neighbor had it but I hear ya, it doesn’t excuse the lazy delivery person and their lack of awareness!

I use Walmart for all of our grocery deliveries and while CS is wonderful with reimbursement for miss delivered orders and/or missing items, it doesn’t help me with being annoyed by a driver who left my order outside in the rain just 12 inches from the door to my building!

Common sense isn’t teachable…

@unksol @chienfou @Lynnerizer I’ve been guilty of that - bringing a package in without looking closely at the address label & then not delivering it to my neighbor immediately. 🫢 I do when I realize it but when I’ve ordered a number of things I often just assume it’s one of those.

That being said Google maps has put my address in the middle of a field that goes behind the house next door. And we don’t have porch pirates out in the country.

The UPS app is good. The USPS app is just a link websites. Which. Informed delivery is fine but. The app does nothing lol

We are out in the country as well, but the road out front is a moderately busy county road and relatively well traveled… That’s why it’s so easy to get rid of things that I put on the roadside for “upcycling”.
I don’t use the “Walmart delivery” very often and when I do have had very mixed results. I must say though this is not the first time I’ve had them leave things a good distance from the house. Once they left a bag of 15# dry cat food 30 feet from my front door in the side yard about 15 feet from the road edge (again). Since that spot isn’t readily visible from the porch I had a bit of a problem to find it. Thankfully I did before it rained that night! Once again, I just wish they would take it to the porch - where it belongs… even if it’s the neighbors porch!

@chienfou ah. Well idk how Walmart delivery works. They could definitely be using gig workers or assigning “optimized” routes via AI based on grouping packages to be “efficient”. So there may not be a route just a “deliver all these in this ridiculous time window”.

I believe it one time they were talking about tasking their store workers with local deliveries on the way home after work shifts. This was going to be an extra income stream for the workers, if I remember correctly. Seems it was going to be voluntary, but not sure if that ever panned out. Or I could be totally misremembering the whole process. That’s always possibleñ

Based on where it’s at in the wiring diagram under the control hood though. And the three other thermal fuses. Was thinking current draw may have spiked/motor may have locked.

I was VERY tempted to just jump it since it’s on the 120V side and see if it started. But. Darwin awards etc. Got new fuses today. Will get to it. Even that motor isn’t THAT expensive. I just didn’t feel like pulling the drum/belt to check it since there’s no room to work in the laundry room.

If it blows again fine… I bought two. I’ll take it apart and check the motor…

I have watched Jackson and I like his videos, he’s got lots of good insightful stuff. I guess I need to start watching again and maybe even reach out to him, I’ll send him a video of our very vocal, and naughty boy!

I’ve been noticing Tuc becoming more and more obsessed with my guy. Tuc follows him around the house acting like he’s really a dog! When he’s cleaning the floors (which is several times a day) Tuc looks like he’s watching a tennis match with his head going back and forth. That’s actually hilarious!

But lately, IMO, his obsession and anxiety has gotten out of control…
He cries for him in so many different tones.
We’ve got the whining for the wet treats, but I say he’s really wanting his attention and tell him to just pick him up instead.
Then he’s got the anxiety cry when my guy is coming home, he actually hears him before he even comes into the building and up the stairs.
He’s got the in your face screaming cry to wake us up just because he’s awake and we’re not!! Of course as soon as my eyes are open he’s off doing his own thing just the way cats do…
He just reminded me of his his favorite cry when he walks around endlessly talking to his invisible wall friends, or at least until he hears one of us grabbing our spray bottle that we keep at arms reach at all times.

1. Take him to the vet. There might be something wrong.
2. I know you likely do this, but trim his nails
3. Cats usually hate citrus flavor so putting around orange peels (not dried out) might help
4. How many cats do you have? He might be having issues due to that.
5. He may just e a high needs cat and more attention might solve the problem, although it sounds like he has attached more to your husband than you.

@Kidsandliz @Kyeh @Lynnerizer Agree with the vet trip. If there is nothing physically wrong with him, maybe see if there is something the vet can prescribe to calm him down. If this is new behavior, it’s definitely worth a vet visit.

I see that feliway has a product for scratching now. Maybe try that.

I’m not really sure that it’s new behavior but it’s definitely getting worse. The thing that has changed is his obsession with my guy! He used to totally favor me and my lap over anything or anyone else. While I LOVED that, I am in NO WAY envious of his obsession with my guy as he likes to joke about. Jus sayen.

I’m not usually so negative or nervous but my surgeon has me scared and as crazy as it might sound… I’m wondering if Tuc KNOWS something I don’t and he’s preparing for a life with just him and his father. …

Now cat grass, treats, and playing on the deck is a different story, THAT’S how he keeps himself occupied when dads out. When he’s not napping of course.

Maybe since I’m ALWAYS home with him he doesn’t feel he needs to cry at me to get my attention, he’s got it ALL of the time! He does talk to me when I get up and he follows me to the bathroom.
He is my first talkative cat. When I first got him I felt like I wasn’t meeting his needs, I felt like I was a bad mom to him. My heart actually had that “sinking to the pit of my stomach” feeling whenever he meowed. Thank goodness I got over THAT ridiculousness!

@Lynnerizer Is Tuc an Only? He might need a friend to distract him, if so. A couple of people of my acquaintance have run across this. (It can also work the other way; a cat will misbehave if there’s an irritating presence in the house, too.) (None of this is likely to be anything you didn’t already know, but I’m mentioning them because I’ve encountered many personal “Doh!” moments about should-have-been-familiar stuff over the past few years.)

Yes, Tuc is our only! I had been looking for a friend for him last year but after many months I decided THAT could be an expensive mistake. At first I was thinking a friend would be great and then I thought it might cause his behavior to get even worse. I couldn’t take it if he started spraying or attacking the new kitten. Our condo is small and there isn’t enough room for feuding cats to live separately, and/or peacefully. I couldn’t imagine having to find either one of them a new home so I ended up bagging THAT idea!

I happen to have that Feliway calming spray in my Amazon cart right now. I’ve been trying to decide between the spray bottle and the diffuser. If you have experience with either one I’d love to hear your opinion.
I’m leaning more towards the spray bottle type because he wouldn’t necessarily be near where the plug-in diffuser would be, not to get a good wiff of it anyway.

Where did you get him? I know our shelter always had plenty of adult cats who were generally pretty chill around each other just because… They kinda had to be because of proximity but were also grown out of the very early zoomies. If YOU could handle another. You could explain the situation/see if they would let you try a foster situation to see if Tuc would adjust.

The feliway I tried a few different times and I never noticed a significant difference.

Trimming claws is definitely a good idea. With one or two that was not a problem for me. If they let you handle their paws in your lap cause they’re wanting to knead anyway. It’s super easy

@chienfou @Felton10 @werehatrack Did you try Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drug Company? Their formulary isn’t all that big (but it is growing). They have a flat fee for postage and a flat fee for profit. Last I looked those two fees were reasonable.

Also Costco and Sam’s Club have a pharmacy that is often cheaper. In this state you can use them and it isn’t restricted to just members. I don’t know about other states. I understand it varies.
