Sturdy As She Goes

The Little Giant folks seem to have done good when they designed this ladder. It’s got great Amazon reviews, it can be adjusted and locked in myriad configurations, and the version we’re selling has a nifty “AirDeck” for laddering your ladderables.

We only have one qualm, and it’s a small one. In the official product description, Little Giant describes the ladder as “groundbreaking.”

Groundbreaking? Really? That’s how you want to describe your ladder?

We’re not questioning whether the features of this TitanX are innovative enough to deserve that description. Rather, we think that when describing a ladder one should avoid phrases that suggest an unstable footing or foundation. Customers would probably like the ground near their ladder to remain quite, quite unbroken.

You don’t see us talking about how our price for this ladder has fallen below that of the competition. Nor would we describe it as a “lightning deal.” And we’re certainly not going to call undue attention to this classic ladder video:

We’re not making references to the Tower of Babel in our product description. Or Icarus. Or any myth suggesting that hubristically rising oneself 17 feet in the air might warrant divine punishment.

We know better.

We’ll just say that this is a sturdy deal with a well-balanced set of features and a safe one-year warranty. In fact, it’s such a good deal we hope the traffic doesn’t cause our servers to collapse spectacularly.
