Scent & Delivered
Yesterday, we sold an indoor grill, something that’ll initially fill your house with delicious smells. The only problem? Those smells will grow staler and staler each hour after you finish cooking. If you bought the air purifier we sold Wednesday, that might help clear the air.
But sometimes, you’re not trying to remove stale smells. Sometimes you’re trying to add fresh new smells.
That’s what these candles provide!
Here’s what our very own @mandirose had to say:
Staff here! I bought these in last month’s Meh-rathon and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the scent. I typically am not a huge fan of linen scented candles, but the cedarwood and sandalwood really give the scent a sophisticated smell. As a self-proclaimed candle snob, I give these my stamp of approval (and I’m not the buyer on them, so this is as unbiased as a staff member could be).
Which led @Troy to buy some.
And apparently @hales bought some too.
As @mandirose put it: “If we had a staff favorite badge, I think these might earn it.”
Which means this sale is a unique opportunity for you, a nobody, to have your home smell like that of a real, honest-to-god Meh employee! (Not my house, though; whenever I need to scent a room, I just explode a few Roar electrolyte packets.)
But really, the most important thing here is this bit: “the cedarwood and sandalwood really give the scent a sophisticated smell.”
There are some scented candles that you think you’re going to like. The label describes them in a way that aligns with your tastes, and they smell nice enough when they’re not lit.
But then you put flame to wick and it’s like, WAPOW! There’s no nuance, there are no layers, it’s just a headache-inducing sweet stink, strong enough that you can almost taste it. Like a dollar-store spray-on deodorant preserved in wax or one of those plug-ins that’s so strong and chemical, it makes you wonder what the people who use it are trying to cover up.
These won’t be like that. They’re refined and nice.
So you should buy some. Just like we did.
