Too versatile for words.

It’s the Arrested Development of gadgets: hard to sum up in a sentence, but bursting with rewards for those with the savvy to look deeper.

Like cheapskate guru Rick Broida, who called it his “new favorite travel companion”. So, like, what is it?

It’s a mobile speaker “that sounds surprisingly good despite being slim enough to slip in a pocket”, with both Bluetooth and aux-in inputs. It’s also a 2200mAh mobile chargers. And an FM radio. And a speakerphone, thanks to the built-in mic. And a Bluetooth receiver, turning any sound system with an aux-in into a Bluetooth sound system, from your car to your kitchen.

(That’s right: those of you who dread the days when we sell Bluetooth speakers and mobile power banks get a double dose today. You should know by now that when you whine about something, we take it as a challenge.)

No wonder other stores tie themselves into knots trying to describe it. Very long knots. Like Best Buy: “GOgroove - BlueSYNC SPB Portable FM Radio with Battery Bank, On-Board Mic and Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Lime Green.” Or Amazon: “Portable Backup Battery Charger with Onboard Bluetooth Speaker and FM Radio by GOgroove - Works With Apple iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4 & More.” And those don’t even mention the Bluetooth receiver capability, maybe the most coveted aspect of this whole thing.

We understand how they wound up with those ugly strings of features in the “product name” field. How do you sum up something with so many functions in one cool little package? We’ll throw it over once again to Rick Broida, who doesn’t part with a penny without a fight. When it was 35 bucks, he called this GOgroove thingy “more versatile than anything in your carry-on”. Now you can stick “and a better deal” in there, too.
