Don't Wait! Hydrate!
Hydration requires no specific vessel. Water is water. You can drink it out of a nice water bottle or chug a whole bunch of those old-school paper cone cup things. It doesn’t matter.
Except, doesn’t it?
No, a good water bottle doesn’t do anything to what’s in it, except maybe keep it at a more appealing temperature for longer. But it’s a mental thing, right? Going back to the sink or the water cooler a million times just to get a few ounces of water requires more effort than filling one thing up a couple times a day, which means you inevitably end up drinking less than you need. Then, at some point in the afternoon, you’re bound to be like, Why do I feel so bad?
For me, personally, even a tall glass isn’t the same as a good bottle. Not to mention, there’s the issue of portability; drinking water out of some commemorative glass stein you got for doing a 5k might be okay at home. But hoo-boy will it get sloshy on even the shortest drive.
