“Okay, so, what you’re telling me,” said Collins, “is that you believe your twin sister, who you haven’t seen in years, managed to sneak into your house and put a sedative into something ate or drank, causing you to sleep in, and now our mission to space, the one we’ve been working on for years–to investigate a mysterious signal out beyond the moon, which might be proof of life beyond Earth–is being manned by her, not by you, the highly-trained commanding officer?”

“That’s right,” Jane said.

“Dear god,” Collins said.

They were in his office. Jane had sent the janitor in to get him for a private meeting, fearing her appearance might send the command center into a frenzy.
