Pretty Sweet
Last time we sold these, @phendrick asked an important question:
“Sow good”? What do these have to do with female pigs? (Do I really want to know?)
Well, does this answer your question, phendrick?
Sow Good is a trailblazing U.S.-based freeze dried candy and snack manufacturer dedicated to providing consumers with innovative and explosively flavorful freeze dried treats. Sow Good has harnessed the power of our proprietary freeze drying technology and product-specialized manufacturing facility to transform traditional candy into a novel and exciting everyday confectionaries subcategory that we call freeze dried candy.
TL;DR: no, it does not, in fact, answer phendrick’s question. And I could not find any further information. So, if you have a theory about the company name, please share it in the comments.
But we do have some useful information to share that didn’t make it into the last write-up. For example, what exactly are the flavors?
From the specs, the Sweet Squares are strawberry, cherry, banana, grape, lime, and orange, whereas the Sour Bites, Sour Spheres, and Sweet Spheres feature lemon, orange, pineapple, grape, green apple, and watermelon.
From the palate of our very own @troy:
The Sweet Squares Banana tastes like Runts, and the orange like Tic Tacs
He then added a heart-eyes emoji, so you know he means this is a good thing. (For me, it’s an even split. Banana runts? Not my fave. Orange Tic Tacs? Yes, please!)
But, of course, there is still an important question left unanswered: are these things any good?
Thankfully, @djslack put off sleep to provide us with a thorough review. You should check out the full thing, but here are a couple highlights.
On the squares:
They also hit first with the sweet more than the flavor, which is not how I remember the Skittles being. Still delightful and hit the candy spot, but I’m not sure I’d seek them out again.
On the spheres:
They still hit first with the sweet, and are every bit as sweet as the squares. But the flavors are higher end flavors. They’re still not the official rainbow. But they’re quite good - the yellow is like Lemonheads, for example. Even more delightful than the squares, and these I’d put nearly on par with freeze dried regular Skittles.
In conclusion, they’re pretty tasty. Especially for the price.
But, of course, if you got these last time, be sure to provide your own review in the comments.
