Got these the last time. The sour ones were covered in straight citric acid and for me as someone who loves sour, I couldn’t binge it the way I liked. A few bags were stale in that the candy must’ve been exposed to air so they weren’t as crunchy as they should have been.
The candy is like an offbrand skittles so they had tropical flavors that I wasn’t a fan of.
Got some of all 4 last time. Overall good value. Big flavor. I did have at least one stale bag which were the sour spheres that are missing here… The sweet squares I would say overall have the most flavor, and the mix includes banana.
These are good enough for a snack now and then, but not so good that I’ll eat an entire bag in one sitting, probably the ideal spot on the sugar treat spectrum.
For anyone that cares: it looks like the sour bites have gelatin in them, and so aren’t vegan or vegetarian. But all the others look like just plants and chemicals.
Also, “We have Sour Spheres” looks like a lie, since that one isn’t for sale this time.
I may be blind, but I couldn’t find a listing of ingredients, you know, Like HOW MUCH SUGAR! I did see something on Amazon where sugar was the first ingredient. You guys gotta do better with this… Lots of DMII in the world these days
I bought the sweet squares and sweet spheres last time. Spheres are huge. Not like they started off skittle sized and blew up once freeze dried, but they started off as mega skittle sized. I preferred the squares.
I was in the Saratoga, NY area this week and there’s an 11th grader doing this. Her company is Stella Sweets. If you’re in that area and like this stuff, maybe look to support her, though I’m sure these are a lot cheaper.
So, if you have a theory about the company name, please share it in the comments.
I think the original ask was a joke, so this might be a call for more jokes rather than an explanation, but I don’t have a good joke, so here’s the explanation just in case:
The name is ‘sow’ (rhymes with ‘so’ and ‘sew’) as in sowing seeds in a field, not ‘sow’ (rhymes with ‘wow’ and ‘how’) as in a female pig.
It sounds like “so good”, but also refers to the idiom “you reap what you sow”, suggesting that if you “sow good”, good is what you’ll get.
I bought them last time, the Sour Bites are sour but whatever is in them if you eat more than a couple, your tongue will pay a terrible price, I think it went dead for an hour after binge popping them while driving down the road. The Sweet ones went into a chewy mode after a few bites.
I got these last time and there is a reason they are cheap. Whatever sour coating is on them tastes like the stench from a small marsupial vomiting on you in self defense and then being cleaned up by an orange peel based disinfectant that has rotted and been masked by spoiled red wine vinegar.

We ordered these last time and wound up giving them away. The smaller ones were better than the larger ones (spheres). The sour ones had a rather chemical taste. The sweet ones were better, but not great.
There’s a company in Grand Junction called “Glacial Goodies” that does a MUCH better job.
I can’t believe i have experience to comment pertaining to the margarita question, I got my hands on some freeze dried lime tootsie rolls from a friend doing test batches. I was in a real “mixology” phase, so i ground them up in a mortar and pestle and rimmed margaritas with it. After a few sips the adhered powder turned into a half slimy half hard-candied rim. 10/10 for fun experiment, overall 5/10 for a real option to rim a glass.

run the sours thru the blender & pulverize, then rim the margarita glass.
this will work.

But its candy. And edible. And cheap.

@ardycake @Potatoboy
I’m curious if they are similar in texture or any other way to the candy pieces in Lucky Charms cereal?

@ardycake @Lynnerizer @Potatoboy I’d say they’re crunchier, especially the sweet squares, which have a candy coating.
@ardycake @diamonds215chic @Potatoboy
Thanks!

Somebody notify me when freeze dried margaritas have been perfected.

@kazriko this is spot on! I’m glad I got them last time, but not going through them fast.
I couldn’t stop eating the sour ones from last time. The sweet squares were fine, but oh my god the sour ones. Definitely damaged my tongue.
@AROAH Same. But I recovered and went back for more. I also found that they didn’t always leave me wounded. It’s about my speed as far as “danger”.

@eightyd nice. Sour sqaures now. Good catch.
@eightyd correction: the “sweet squares” have shellac, which isn’t vegan, and maybe not vegetarian (I’ve seen arguments for both)
The sour bites are so good, I can’t stop eating them. I am going through them way faster than I expected to… Might need more for later.

@mediocrebot little pockets of extra sour goodness to clean the insides. Niiiiiice
I may be blind, but I couldn’t find a listing of ingredients, you know, Like HOW MUCH SUGAR! I did see something on Amazon where sugar was the first ingredient. You guys gotta do better with this… Lots of DMII in the world these days
DMII = Diabetes Mellitus Type II (since I imagine I was not the only one
)
@andymand It’s basically ALL sugar.
1 OZ - 26G Carbohydrates - 21 of those from sugar.
DMII? Don’t buy these.
Yikes, found it… 42% and Carbs! Hang up and drive Mama.
@Mandamm It’s candy! What did you expect, for the first ingredient to be broccoli?
@cinoclav @Mandamm
/youtube sugar sugar
@Mandamm Sugar is in fact a carbohydrate, I’m frankly more worried about what the other 58% is.

And the freeze drying serves what purpose?
@Bumplepimp puffs them up and makes them crunchy and airy.
As opposed to originally being either chewy like skittles or more likely just a hard candy.
@Bumplepimp Also, if your kid has braces, these are still acceptable candies.
Is the movie reference Menace 2 Society? If yes, why in the world would you pick that for this? Pretty sad and traumatic scene

@Aspirant_Fool I actually won’t buy any food from a company whose name doesn’t have at least two meanings.
@Aspirant_Fool @gawaintheknight
Big Kraft fan, I’m guessing…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Are these individually wrapped? Looks like “no”. Asking for someone who has a communal candy dish. Okay, it’s me, I’m asking for me.
@gawaintheknight they are not individually wrapped.
@diamonds215chic Not the answer I wanted, but thank you.
