Your Take
Meat, Be Gone!
Our prices always compare well to Amazon’s. Often, the difference is shocking, though the exact nature of the shock varies from sale to sale.
Sometimes, you marvel at the amazing price and wonder how in the world we did it. How did we manage to secure such a wonderful product at such a wonderfully low cost?! Other times, though, you look at the original price and wonder: how is it possible anyone would’ve spent that in the first place?
This sale fits into that second category. Seriously, $114 to $120? For this many of these? Who could possibly justify that?
Well, for one, Amazon user Amber Y could:
My Chihuahua is a vegan dog. He is super treat motivated, and he is obsessed with these treats. They smell like actual beef jerky, and they have a meat quality to them. My only critique is that they dry out easily, so make sure to keep them sealed away in the bag.
First of all, saying your chihuahua is a vegan dog is like saying your infant son is into early-aughts indie rock because you dressed him in a Strokes onesie. The burden of choice has not been afforded!
Secondly, and more importantly, herein lies the issue: Bright Planet probably thinks, and somewhat rightly so, that people who prioritize a vegan diet for their furry friends like Amber Y are opting for personal peace of mind without much concern for the financials.
The problem? These diehards likely amount to a pretty small number of people in the grand scheme of things.
Someone who’s vegan-dog-treat-agnostic or vegan-dog-treat-curious, meanwhile, is going to look at the 10 bucks per 6oz bag and think, I mean, it’s cool that each bag plants a tree and that no animals went into making this… but damn, I could get hella Beggin’ Strips for that amount of money.
And they’d be right.
Unless they shop with us.
Today.
Because we’ve got 12 bags for $24. In other words, a very reasonable 2 bucks per bag. Which, we hope is cheap enough to flip the script: now, even those of you who are outright dubious of vegan pet diets might come around to the idea of feeding your pet something that’s not as fucked up as Beggin’ Strips. (And to be fair, when we call Beggin’ Strips fucked up, we’re referring to the entire ingredient list, not just the fact that they contain meat.)
And according to Amazon user Cat, some dogs even prefer these to meaty alternatives:
When they arrived, I did a taste test with all three dogs, offering both the meat and the bbq chick’n treats as an option. Each dog chose the plant-based treat 9/10ths of the time. They LOVE them.
See! Peace of mind and peace of pup!
So buy some vegan dog treats. They’re cheap, and your dogs just might love them.
