It's A Monster Mehsh: A Very Haunted Meh-rathon
Among the boxes piled in the attic, your phone light illuminates on something that brings you some comfort.
It’s a set of Star Wars toys.
A sense of warmth washes over you and you feel transported, back to a time before all this: not just before your car broke down on the way to Halloween party, but further back to a more innocent time. You remember playing with your friends, building forts out of couch pillows, eating grilled cheese sandwiches while watching cartoons.
But it is bittersweet. Because you’re not there. You’re not that child anymore. You’re all grown up, and you’re stuck in an attic of a strange home roamed by a presence you haven’t seen but who you can sense everywhere you go.
And there’s some other bad news: not only do you have no service, but now your phone’s battery is in the red.
